And on behalf of all Sioux hockey fans, I thought Chris would have recognized or known that this is no ordinary girl. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/indepth/feature-szabados.html

Or maybe the third goaltender as others have suggested there have been three on scholarship before.

In the post-game analysis TSN's MacKenzie said he would likely not play the rest of the games this week and that his shoulder would be re-evaluated next week. -

Pretty goal by Toews in tonights intrasquad game. For those of you who get TSN you can see it on this evenings sportsline. Update, Toews reinjured his shoulder near the end of the contest. -
WTF is a "reverse-skippy"?

Brady Murray's dad is back coaching in the NHL. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=188117&hubname=nhl

Thats it, I am going to have to go and tell my boss I am booking off sick for the rest of the day. I must be, given that I agree with something that was posted by a Gopher fan.

This is coming from the same individual who mocked my prediction of Duncan being a 20 goal scorer this season. Nothwithstanding, his "I'm Positive"s are a lot easier to stomach than his "What Ifs".

It will likely be a game time decision whether Drew dresses, based on whether or not Afinogenov is fit to play

For all the money that is spent on the program and facilities perhaps that is first thing to rectify. Given his passion for the program, maybe the Eagle would be interested, if and when he retires.

I totally agree with you and the simple answer is that finding goaltenders that will remain consistent and improve at a higher level is often a crapshoot. Lately, the formula for success at Denver, Wisconsin and CC has been Tier II hockey in Canada. Perhaps the coaches are in the process of pursuing that route bringing in Greico this year and perhaps the AJHL kid next year or in 08. Although it is supposed to be a Tier One Junior league, the USHL isn't producing very many of the top goalie recruits.

Which is why the coaches shouldn't be ripped when players don't reach or play to their potential. I swear that some of you would shoot Grandpa if his prized chickens stopped laying the eggs you enjoy with breakfast. It was a big recruiting class last season and you have to accept there will be duds in with the blue chippers.

Yeah you're right, I guess I was recalling that he was from North Alberta. Notwithstanding I could go back and pick out some other Sioux greats from the league other than Commodore.
-
I say cut him some slack. I recall that Smaby was still having his problems his first season and a half and fans were making these types of posts about him. I admit that I was even beginning to have my doubts then despite the deflection that went off him at the FF two years ago Smaby was pretty solid in the Sioux's playoff run that year and last year. The big ones always take longer to adjust.

Yes but then consider that Eidness is younger and has a better GAA and save % than USHL goalies Kangas (minnesota recruit) Hogan (Michigan recruits) and Gundmandson (wiso recruit). And the USHL isn't a scoring league. Although it is up this year because of all the PP's. We'll leave the girl for Bucky.

I was born in the wilderness of Eastern Ontario, in a log cabin that I helped my father build.

This year the big difference is the goaltending. When some of the same problems existed early in the past two seasons Parise was winning games for them and rang up impressive numbers. It is not a problem that the coaches can resolve easily. They have three netminders to choose from and they get to see them in practice every day. The coaches demonstrated last night that despite the weak goals Lammy is still their number one. Unless I see one of the goalies get in a groove real soon I can't get optimisitic about a turn around this season.

No one on this years team is ready to step directly into the NHL. The NHL is all about consistency at a much faster tempo, so if any one of these kids thinks he is already NHL material he is a big time dreamer.

Maybe it wasn't a goalie after all. Did the shorter guy look more like the goalie or the guy in this link: http://ajhl.ab.ca/leagues/rosters_profile....playerID=203542 Did the lanky guy look like the guy in this link: http://www.ajhl.ab.ca/leagues/rosters_prof...playerID=226771

This year the coaches have many problems on their hands. The last two years it was often difficult to figure out why the team wasn't winning. This year it is easy. No goaltending, defensive breakdowns, untimely penalties and a lack of production from the big guns. It will be interesting to hear how DH tries to put a positive spin on this weekend.

The flounder was left flapping on the ice again.

Another WCHA call as the hand pass went to a Badger.

Perhaps he has numb cheeks too.

Bina really is a scoring machine. Get him out on the PP more often.
