Apparently the Mankato goalie Tormey had to leave the game and was badly cut by a Gopher crashing him skate first

Since Bucky decided to jump right into the debate regarding Finley I thought I would make him feel right at home. My own take on Finley is that he was guilty of some poor judgement that did lead to turnovers earlier in the season. However, I believe that his play has been steadily improving and, from what I could see of him on the internet feed, I thought he had a pretty good weekend against CC. Besides, Finley wasn't expected to be one of this teams defensive leaders. The Sioux need to get their D leadership and more consistent play from two of the other sophomores.

Bucky, thanks for gracing us with your hockey expertise. Since you are in a sharing mood my question to you would be this: "If you happen to be a goalie and you give up weak goals in the majority of your teams big games (read playoffs) what would that make you? Most people on this site would say it means that you are a "Sieve" but we would love to hear your expert take on that one as well.

You memory isn't fading too bad and I believe he was a victim of some of the eligibility rule changes at that time. The Goofs whined for nearly 20 years that couldn't compete against Canadians who had played real hockey and eventaully got their way. Dave was only 5'7" but had a set of wheels, a Duncan type player. Given that Calgary is common to both it is very possible that Joe is either son or nephew and the Sioux could have a valuable connection.

I noticed that he required attention to his injured arm after getting tackled by a CC player. Are you still a superstar at your job after such an injury.

Goaltending was the biggest question mark going into this season and it remains a question mark. Neither goaltender has demonstrated any consistency yet. Since you have decided to attack the freshman goaltender Greico recall that he helped the Sioux get points from St Cloud. Yes he struggles with his rebound control but he doesn't get beat top shelf from dropping quickly. Both Goalies need to work on their game if the Sioux are going to make a playoff run.

I hate to see Fabian miss the entire weekend. He may not being scoring much yet this season, but he is rarely caught out of position nor does he commit the types of turnovers that are haunting this team.

Actually, the Sioux were in a comfortable game up 2-1 when Porter started trying to get fancy with the puck in his own end and turned it over. CC proceeded to crash the net and Jones went psycho again and on the PP CC tied the game and the Sioux comfort level was gone. Otherwise, I totally agree that the other three players (DOT) were the only ones who had their head in the game for 60 minutes. As for the debate regarding Lee, he needs to be a leader on this teams blueline rather than one of its achilles heels. He is young, but as a top 10 NHL draft pick he shouldn't have been beat the way he was last night. He needs to step up his game as the Sioux need Matt Carle type leadership from him. Finally, sorry GF natives but Lammy didn't look any better than the 17 year old. Bottom line is that alot of players on this team aren't contributing enough at the moment.

Lee is no where near NHL material. The good news is he will play four years for the Sioux.
