  1. Actually I'd say it was RT's fault, it was Taylor/Chapman's fault with Bunning and it is Faison's fault now.
  2. Um, UND could agree to an every other year deal and then just demand to play every year or just stop playing once the first home and home is completed. There are more ways to negotiate than what you are implying and I think an every year game is going to happen a lot faster if the two schools just play a game first. Yes mooncountry, had Montana played Morgan State instead of Western State they would have been in the playoffs.
  3. Getting back to the WAC both UCD and UNT turned WAC invites down today. Probably won't be long until La Tech bolts.
  4. That is what 7-4 will get you, way too much parity in the MVFC this year.
  5. I think SJSU axes football before joining the Big Sky. Idaho could be a possibility, they are an FCS team competing in the FBS. A lot of these teams are going to struggle now that the WAC's revenue streams are dead or dieing.
  6. Pretty soon I'd guess, somebody on egriz posted the MWC comish said there is only room for two western FBS conferences. Now TCU fans are saying they are joining the Big East. Let another conference shuffle begin! http://www.killerfrogs.com/msgboard/index.php?showtopic=126017&st=0
  7. Hawaii to join the MWC in football and Big West in other sports.. http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/breaking/109083259.html This will cost the WAC a valuable bowl tie-in, their most marquee program and pretty much makes it the MAC west.
  8. I don't get the comments of NDSU's being envious of the Big Sky. We did want to go there at one point, but that was before the MVFC ever gave us a call and before we got to know some of the Summit schools. There is some really good basketball in the Summit. Oakland, ORU and IUPUI are top tier mid-major programs. I'm glad you guys got into the Big Sky, it is a solid conference and gives your football team a home. We would have done the same thing if we were in your shoes.
  9. Hunting opener and high schools playoffs took a big toll on our attendance last week. Plus SIU has been uncharacteristically bad this year. But the question was who I look forward to watching NDSU play and unless the SIU program goes off a cliff they are definitely a game of interest.
  10. Besides the teams you mentioned...Oakland(probably more than ORU) and IUPUI for the Summit. SIU and YSU in the MVFC.
  11. They will stay, the new president will want more time to make this kind of decision and there are just way too many expenses with no guarantee increased revenue can match the cost. Montana has it really good in the FCS, their football program is a cash cow that feeds things at the university that go way beyond football. Who knows if people will pack the stadium when the Griz are going 5-7 or 4-8 instead of making the playoffs every year. Really it isn't like the WAC is filled with big name programs now, it has been gutted.

  13. Not surprised considering Sanford has its sights set on acquiring Altru.
  14. The Summit would have been in the play-in game maybe once in the past five NCAA tournaments under this new format. Of course the Summit has benefited by sending their top team to the tournament in at least four of those seasons, the best team in the Summit is usually pretty solid.
  15. http://twitter.com/OWHsports http://www.omaha.com/article/20100611/NEWS...-to-the-big-ten Nebraska makes it official, Texas your move is next.
  16. I still don't know what would make the MWC move now, maybe they think Boise makes them look more appealing to potential Big 12 teams. Maybe the Big 12 won't die.
  17. I agree with MPLS, the NCAA does a lot of things for the non-football sports that people take for granted. If you split you would need to create it all from scratch and it wouldn't be cheap. The NCAA also gives these presidents some cover so that they can say they are still remotely about academics. Meanwhile the NCAA will just sit back and let them do whatever they want with the football money and these conferences will cash in as soon as a BCS playoff if formed. These schools knew they couldn't have just bowls forever and this is their way of getting a playoff done on their terms. These schools still need the smaller schools for basketball, baseball, hockey and other sports. The backlash for killing the big dance would be massive, people that barely even care about college basketball love to fill out the bracket and cheer for the little guy. You take away the little guy and suddenly your product isn't worth much. A college version of the NBA won't sell.
  18. There is a lack of oversight and then there is knowingly taking advantage of a lack of oversight. The SBoHE has some blame in creating an atmosphere that lacked accountability but the scope of this is too big for the buck to stop there and that is why heads have rolled.
  19. Radio FM is the big player in the FM market, it kind of makes sense to move your radio broadcasts to what is by far the biggest player in your market. The relationship with Forum communication may have been ideal decades ago but times change. Forum Communications was no longer cutting it and a business decision had to be made. I guess with Sanford money does talk, but at least it is a lot of money that is going to be put to great use. Any AD makes either decision, you know that. Gene is just doing his job and doing it well.
  20. Nobody was stopping Innovis from cutting a big check to renovate the BSA. If Sanford wants to step up to the plate they should get the deal. NDSU switched from the Forum to KFGO for business reasons, bash Taylor all you want but his job is to do what is best for NDSU and not the Forum or Innovis Health.
  21. I'm fine with Hanson now, my issues with him ended when he was removed the presidential candidate pool. I've always thought he had some good insight considering his background and the fact he is an NDSU grad. I wish he would have just focused on being the interim guy but he will definitely leave NDSU having done more good then bad. As for Taylor, Hanson respects him a lot and I don't see that changing with the new president.
  22. An arrogant jerk, you have no clue about who Taylor is. He is a great guy, too bad your ADs bring out the worst in him.
  23. The Fargodome has better sightlines thanks to the steeper pitch of the stands. Which is why the previous poster said he could be 30 rows back and be closer to the field and those seats aren't bad(unless you are in the endzone). Other than that the Alerus isn't so bad.
  24. There is a poll on Bisonville with 151 votes, 66% want the game back in some form, most as an every other year game.
  25. It is pretty sad how it ended, so sad really that I can't take any joy in this. I always thought it should be up to the tribes(not the tribal councils or the SBoHE), sadly some of their voices were never heard in this process.
