  1. I don't claim Faison is the best ever, but I think he has done a stellar job, and would be right up at the top of the list IMO. I've enjoyed the handful of conversations I've had with him, and yes I usually have to re-introduce myself when I do run into him. But I give him credit for always taking the time to visit with me when I run into him, he always answers my emails, and once he even sent me a hand written note in response to a question I posed to him. I appreciate little things like that. I'm not real sure how he should be expected to interact with the students. Buning used to sit in the student section at hockey and do push-ups on the sidelines at football and he was criticized for that. The IPF is alot farther along now than it was before he got here. I've been hearing about this IPF for years and years. I was beginning to think it was like Bigfoot until recently. The NCHC is a far better alternative to the WCHA post Big Ten Hockey, that is all I meant by that comment. By all accounts he spear headed that. I don't like the Midco TV deal personally because I can't access it since they blocked FTA. But there are far more games on now for all sports than there ever has been. The most recent addition is FSNorth, which is a significant deal. I also like that he has shown a willingness to dismiss coaches that don't produce: Mussman, Parsons, Gaye, off the top of my head. He may be arrogant, or he may be confident, or he may be stubborn, or some combination of all. One of the best examples of his demeanor was when he called a press conference to basically announce that the commissioner of the Summit League is a lying sack of crap. That was classic. The one thing he has done that I strongly disagree with is the football games with NDSU. I don't know how much of role Bubba played in that process, but it is a bad deal IMO. I guess my point is I like the job he's done. Others are free to feel otherwise. Back to the topic of attendance, start winning and it'll come around. Everyone loves a winner, especially Grand Forks.
  2. How is Faison NOT one of the best Athletic Directors that UND has ever had? Big Sky, NCHC, High Performance Center, doormat volleyball team turned perennial power, unprecedented television coverage for every non-hockey sport, etc....
  3. I would prefer we have their full attention when we shock them in their dome........
  4. 2nd year in a row that ESPN has showcased the premier league in the FCS for this event. Quite an honor for the Big Sky.
  5. I think UNC and UND are going to be in two different states of mind on Saturday. North Dakota's fans, and more importantly its players, are still excited about the future under Coach Schwiegert. Even though it is the last game of 3rd consecutive losing season, the team is going to be hungry to improve and get another win for Bubba and enter the off season on a note of positivity. They are going to be intense, and will be playing with the same energy in this last game as they did in the first game. I think Northern Colorado is where we were at last year. Their fans seem to have turned against their coach. Their players are probably not greatly motivated. They are in the midst of their 11th consecutive losing season. I bet their fan base and their team just wants this season to be over. Having said that, they have also beaten Northern Arizona this year. Just two weeks ago we were embarrassed by Weber St. and we are 0-5 on the road. This game is going to have an in-your-face old fashioned NCC feel to it. Remember the last game in Greeley when the refs let UNC play with 12 guys against us to seal their victory? The forecast is for sunny and 54 degrees. So for anybody who is going, bring your nose plugs. Weather like that will bring out Greeley's aromatic attributes in full force..........
  6. This game is going to pit the two most inept Big Sky offenses against each other. Sioux win 16-10
  7. They got off to a slow start, but I felt they looked pretty good after the first 12 minutes or so. They won by 37, which is exactly what they should do to Mayville. They shot 47% from the field and 39% from beyond the arc which is pretty darn good. Should not have that many turnovers though against an NAIA school, and as usual nobody on the team has ever been taught to box out. Hard to tell much from a game like this, but was fun to see a few of the new guys. I like Coleman's game. He's athletic and can hit the open jumper. Cashman is also pretty athletic for a big man. He moves well. I think he may have a bright future as he gets stronger. De Rouen looks pretty good defensively, and really hustles. Nash and Hooker look to be the leaders of this team. I think they look like they'll be OK and should get better as the season goes on. Lots of good athletes. I think they'll be top half in the Big Sky and will definately make the conference tournament.
  8. Just got home. Great game! Lloyd has to be one of the best players in the Big Sky.
  9. I drove by today. They were sheeting the north end wall and about 25% of the roof is sheeted. No way is this thing ready for use by spring practice IMO........

  19. De Rouen hasnt played for a long time.....
  20. 23 UND 14 MSU 6:44 1H
  21. Salmonson has a boot on. Shields and Richman also not in uniform.... 14-13 Mayville 8:42 1st half
  22. Salmonson in street clothes as is Crandall. Tyler in uniform. 6-6 15 minutes left 1st half
  23. Did Salmonson get hurt? Just looking at the box score, I see he started but only played 4 minutes.......
  24. Just curious if you have run this by Jim Dahl since SiouxSports.com is his baby.......
  25. Average attendance for the season ended up being 7,485 which is the lowest season average since the Alerus opened. The best attended game was the opener against Robert Morris. On one hand, not surprising given the poor product that has been on the field the last several years. On the other hand, I actually thought we would have had a bit of an increase over last year with the coaching change and the fact that fans were treated to some pretty entertaining home games all year except for the Weber game. There was actually an 11% drop in attendance this season. Not a good trend. Need to right the ship and start winning to get the fans back. I think we are on the right track. Robert Morris.............9,118 Stony Brook...............7,030 Montana.....................9,025 Portland St.................7,894 Weber St....................5,932 Northern Arizona........5,916
