I went to the Milwaukee game. They looked real good. Lloyd could be the best player in the Big Sky. Bailey Strand is a youngster that looks like she may develop into special player during her career.

Yeah, this team needs to develop a killer instinct and learn how to close out games. -

Sioux up 5 with 10 seconds left. Shooting free throws now. Should win, but doing our best again to give it away in the second half. -

Yeah, I was talking about Collins. I hadn't heard that Moccia made any comments recently about Lennon, but I believe he was just extended prior to this season. Have to assume Lennon will be safe for another year. It'll take a few months for an A.D., to be hired, so I would think January/February would be an inopportune time to make a coaching change. Have to think that Lennon will have to get into the playoffs next season though to keep his job, otherwise the new AD will want "his guy" in there.

I believe he received a "vote of confidence" just a week ago from the administration.....

My opinion of Mollberg and Bartels is that I have seen enough of both to feel that either can be an adequate game manager but neither will ever be a difference maker. Both of them need a superior supporting cast to succeed in my opinion. As far as Studsrud goes, how can anyone tell anything about his potential yet? I will say he is the best athlete of the three by far, has a stronger arm than Bartels, and is more accurate than Mollberg. But he is way to young and has a lot to learn. He performed admirably in a tough situation, but I think it would be in his best interests to learn from the older guys before being thrown back in the mix. Hopefully Molberg heals fast and let the best man win between him and Bartels in the fall, and hope we have a running game and receivers that carry this team.

Considering the marked improvement of the offensive line over the course of the season, I think WR is the position group that needs the most improvement at this point. Too many drops and nobody that can stretch the field. Need more depth at all positions.

The UNC player celebrations when they make a tackle while down 25 are hilarious......

I'm just a casual hockey fan, the only hockey I really watch is North Dakota hockey. I have season tix for Sioux hockey, but honestly I'd prefer UND football and/or basketball if I had to choose. I go to the Frozen Faceoff, just as much to get away for a weekend as to watch hockey. I'm really excited about the prospect of Arizona St. hockey being in the NCHC, basically just for the name. Same reason I was ticked off when Notre Dame left the NCHC at the alter. Regardless of their hockey tradition, these big name schools lend credibility to college hockey, which is basically a niche sport, especially to casual observers that don't live & breathe hockey. I know that Ohio St. is nothing in college hockey, but I'd much rather see them come to REA than Western Michigan, St. Cloud, or even Miami. Anyways, just thought I'd share my perspective as somebody that doesn't know a ton about college hockey, but follows simply because my favorite school is pretty damn good at it. Sidenote: another reason it is too bad we aren't the Fighting Sioux any more. A game with the Sun Devils would have been a matchup with the two coolest nicknames in college sports.......

Game Notes This is a great opportunity to get a road win against a quality non-conference opponent. The Jacks fell to Big Sky foe Idaho a few nights ago.

I don't claim Faison is the best ever, but I think he has done a stellar job, and would be right up at the top of the list IMO. I've enjoyed the handful of conversations I've had with him, and yes I usually have to re-introduce myself when I do run into him. But I give him credit for always taking the time to visit with me when I run into him, he always answers my emails, and once he even sent me a hand written note in response to a question I posed to him. I appreciate little things like that. I'm not real sure how he should be expected to interact with the students. Buning used to sit in the student section at hockey and do push-ups on the sidelines at football and he was criticized for that. The IPF is alot farther along now than it was before he got here. I've been hearing about this IPF for years and years. I was beginning to think it was like Bigfoot until recently. The NCHC is a far better alternative to the WCHA post Big Ten Hockey, that is all I meant by that comment. By all accounts he spear headed that. I don't like the Midco TV deal personally because I can't access it since they blocked FTA. But there are far more games on now for all sports than there ever has been. The most recent addition is FSNorth, which is a significant deal. I also like that he has shown a willingness to dismiss coaches that don't produce: Mussman, Parsons, Gaye, off the top of my head. He may be arrogant, or he may be confident, or he may be stubborn, or some combination of all. One of the best examples of his demeanor was when he called a press conference to basically announce that the commissioner of the Summit League is a lying sack of crap. That was classic. The one thing he has done that I strongly disagree with is the football games with NDSU. I don't know how much of role Bubba played in that process, but it is a bad deal IMO. I guess my point is I like the job he's done. Others are free to feel otherwise. Back to the topic of attendance, start winning and it'll come around. Everyone loves a winner, especially Grand Forks.
