  1. I think his point is that the Fargo metro is 3 times the size of GF. It is growing probably 5 times faster than GF. That results in significantly higher sources to draw corporate dollars from, and NDSU is doing a good job of getting those corporate dollars. They have better attendance at alot of their sporting events, not only because they've been successful in recent years, but also because they have a much larger population base to draw fans from nearby. They get 10,000 more people to football games than does UND. That equates roughly $900,000 more in revenue over a six game season. The last few seasons they've gotten about 1,300 mor per game for basketball. That's another $200,000 a year in revenue over what we get. Again, they have been very good the last few years so that is a big part, but so is their location.
  2. His current contract runs through the 2016-17 season and pays him $100,000 per year.
  3. Seems a little high at this point..........
  4. To be fair, potential recruits and their parents unfortunately also probably saw the last two games on TV. I wonder if it got any of them excited about playing here......
  5. Agree. I have been thinkg of him or Matt Margenthaler from Mankato.
  6. Omaha has already beaten Marquette this season. I guess it would mean that UNO is also 30 points better than us.
  7. I said earlier in this thread that I don't feel real strongly one way or the other about Jones. Well after this week, particularly last night, I'm starting to lean one way rather than the other and I bet most could guess which way that is. In the last week there were two televised games, back to back, against the two opponents that every self respecting North Dakota fan wants to beat more than any other. I would guess there were more eyes on the men's program over the last two weeks both from near and afar than there has been in a long time. What was the result? Two 30 point losses. What did the "casual" fans that we are trying to entice to show up at the Sioux Center, the ones that normally don't follow but maybe were this week because of who we were playing get to see? They got to see that UND plays some pretty bad basketball. Now I am not saying that I expected to beat Minnesota. But a competetive game would have been nice. I know we hung in there OK through the first half, but the wheels came off as the often do in the 2nd half and the end result was a 36 point loss which is a beat down in any gym. In 30 years of watching UND basketball I can't recall a more disappointing effort off the top of my head than what I saw last night. The coach said he was disappointed with the effort put forth by his players. Well at some point, doesn't it fall on the coach to motivate his players to give their best effort? Nobody better be looking past Dickinson St., because the UND team I saw last night could not beat Dickinson St.............
  8. Jade Lawrence committed per a Jody Norstedt tweet......
  9. Sounds like Jones was irritated by that last shot from Dupree. Seriously? That's what gets you fired up?
  10. Forget free throws, we need to work on layups
  11. We are getting smoked by a really average team again.......
  12. The travel involved for a road trip like this must be really taxing.......
  13. As usual we are off to a horrid start on the road.
  14. You can tell KVLY has pennies invested in this broadcast.....
  15. Jacobson not suiting up according to Tom Miller....
  16. EWU down 18 to Illinois St. Their defense seems to have regressed to early season form......
  17. I'm no great college football mind, but regarding the strength & conditioning program at UND, after watching several FCS playoff games I can't help but notice that the players on every team just look bigger and stronger than most of the players on our team. This is also very noticeable in Big Sky play.
  18. Coastal is moving the ball well, but had to settle for FGs twice after getting inside the FU 5 yard line. They can't really stop the Bison though. Entertaining first half.
  19. I figure it will be a close game. Both teams are still trying to figure a lot out, pretty evenly matched I would say. If North Dakota is going to get a second non-conference win on the road, this is a prime opportunity to do it. Still pretty hard to pick UND on the road right now. I expect a 5 point game either way. 20. brian.faison@athletics.und.edu jodyh@theralph.com These are the two guys that should get an email from anybody wishing to voice their concerns over video boards and any other issues at the Sioux Center. Let them know what you think! Be polite & be concise. I've already let them know my opinion. The more people that they hear from the better idea they'll get on how strongly alot of us feel on this.
