  1. See my signature. Run it down their throat. That is how we won 8 games despite having Joey Bradley at QB.
  2. I'm a bit surprised to see Pecosky ahead of Iverson.
  3. Went to UC Davis last year which is not all that far from San Jose. I'd say there was around 400-500 at that game. I'd think it would be similar here. I suspect a lot more SJSU fans than there were Aggie fans of course.
  4. They weren't at similar levels when NDSU followed Noerthern Colorado to DI. UND was actually quite a ways ahead in pretty much all sports. These things go in cycles. NDSU won't be the defending champs forever, and UND won't be rebuilding forever. Some North Dakota fans worry far too much about NDSU and UMTC. I sometimes get the feeling that some fans would prefer wins against those programs to conference and national titles.......
  5. Maybe they actually had great vision. Had we also followed Northern Colorado at the same time, we would likely be wallowing in the Summit and MVFC right now along side the rest of the Dakota schools. No thanks. The 5 year wait was a small price to pay for Big Sky affiliation, IMO. If we had to do it all over again, I'd want it done the same way.
  6. I hate defending FU, but they have won 8 national titles without Craig Bohl. I think that the group of North Dakota fans that are hoping for the demise of NDSU football due to the departure of Craig Bohl are likely going to end up being disappointed.
  7. I say over 10,000. The opener and Potato Bowl generally well attended. Add in curiosity about the coaching change as well.
  8. Jones puts the schedule together. Moody did it before he left, Jones has done it ever since.
  9. How about both like the way it was before Midco took over?
  10. Nov 15 @ Colorado Nov 16-23 WNIT Tourney (TBD) Jan 1 Montana Jan 3 Montana State Feb 14 @ Montana Feb 16 @ Montana State TBD: Minnesota Dec 13: @ NDSU TBD: @ USD Doubleheader at Scheels Arena for the men and women this year per Dom Izzo
  11. Dom Izzo tweeting it will be a Sioux-Bison doubleheader in basketball this year: 11/26: @ Alabama St. (in Utah) 11/28: @ Utah 11/29: @ Texas Pan-Am (in Utah) 12/13: @ NDSU
  12. They play the Utes on Nov 28. I'm sure it is a round-robin format like the Oregon tourney last year. I'm guessing that tourney schedule will look something like: 11/26: Alabama St. 11/28: Utah 11/29: Texas Pan-Am
  13. Seems like scheduling news is normally trickling out by now, but it seems its been pretty quiet. Just came across this: Utah Tournament - Nov. 26-29, vs Utah, Alabama St., Texas-PanAm I also assume @ NDSU and at home against 2 non-DI schools for a total of 6 OOC games thus far. Remember, with the addition of Idaho to the Big Sky, there will be MORE non-conference games this season than in the last two years.........
  14. Honestly if it has to be a neutral site, I think Boise, ID would be the best option. It is as easy drive for 7 Big Sky teams, which includes the 5 remaining founding members of the league. SLC would be my second choice due to its proximity to Weber and good flight service. For the life of me I can't figure out why places like Sacramento, Spokane, and Seattle are being thrown around. Las Vegas is easy to fly to, but isn't real easy for anyone to drive to except SUU. In theory, it seems like a fun trip to watch UND play basketball, but honestly how many North Dakota fans are going plan a trip to Vegas around some Sioux basketball games when the NCHC tourney is going to take place a week later? Not many is my hunch.
  15. Per Tom Miller's Twitter: Hopefully Fullerton can talk the Presidents out of it.....
  16. Let's be honest, if it isn't played on ice UND fans don't travel well. If there were 100 UND fans in Ogden this year, I bet we would get 200 fans in Vegas. Big deal. If it is at The Sioux Center we will have 3,000. I would prefer to keep that possibility open......
  17. Average attendance at the WAC tournament this year was 1,284. I think something like that or quite possibly even less is what we would see. That would be a great environment for the players and fans to experience and for ESPN to showcase to the country. Let's not forget the women's side of the tourney either. Can you imagine the cavern of the arena for the women's games? I attended the championship game in Grand Forks this year and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I watched the one in Missoula last year and it looked like they had a wonderful turnout. I really like the current format because it makes the race in the regular season very exciting. I love the idea that my favorite school can host the tournament. Hey SUU saved a lot of money by not having to go to the tournament this year. If this plan were in place they would have had to make the trip to Vegas. I understand getting to remote locales on short notice is a problem in the Big Sky under the current format. In an effort mitigate some of that, is there any reason the regular season could not end a week earlier than it does now allowing for twice as much more time for preparations for all parties involved? It seems with 4 fewer conference games going forward, this should be doable.
  18. Big Sky exploring moving tournaments to Las Vegas I am really not for this. Not only do they want to move the tourney to Vegas, but they want to include every team. Why not just eliminate the regular season while we're at it?
  19. Well, Faison did get North Dakota into the conference that Gene Taylor twice failed to do so for his school, so there is that.
  20. You see, when a newspaper writer does his job and uncovers facts and information via his own due diligence, it is not really "Using the Media" just because those facts involve certain affected parties. I know this method of reporting may seem foreign to those that are used to the coverage provided by FU's beat writer in the Forum, since Kolpack makes a scheduled weekly stop at Gene Taylors office to obtain a syllabus so he can learn what his articles will be for the week.
  21. Pretty hard to put much stock into Hammersmith's theory when he didn't even take into account the e-mail that was sent from the grassy knoll............
  22. IMO, the same can be said if the Big Sky moves its tournament to Las Vegas.
  23. Kolpack just chimed in on his radio show. He actually shocked me. He and Izzo both think the game should be played. Also think UND should take the guarantee just to get the game going. Both of them agreed it is unlikely that the game will happen as long as Gene Taylor is at NDSU. Kolpack even said he truly believes that the die hard bison fans that are so vocal about not playing are afraid of a potential loss. They interviewed Cole Jirik and he said he wished he would have been able to play against the Sioux. It was an interesting conversation.
