  1. Attendance was just shy of 1,700 last night. The Weber-Montana game had 7,400.
  2. I think Darrell is just taking the standings off of the Big Sky website, which goes alphabetically at this point. I assume the first tie-breaker is head-to-head, so yeah, SUU would be the 3 seed if the tournament started today.
  3. Probably safe to say now that North Dakota won't make the Big Sky tournament.............................
  4. 2/14/13............... 80 Sacramento St. 62 North Dakota
  5. North Dakota football, men's basketball, women's basketball, and volleyball games, both home and away, are streamed FOR FREE through Bigskytv.org. Just plug in your email address and you have access. Men's and women's hockey are the only live events you can get from UNDinsider.com. And I will add that, personally, I've found that the webcasts from Bigskytv.org are exponentially more reliable than those that can be found at UNDinsider.com, which is why I have such a problem with the University relying on their web-based services to provide content to fans.
  6. Weber St. beat the hell out of Montana tonight. The fact that the Wildcats won is not a surprise, but they did so by 24 points and that is a bit of an eye-brow raiser. The Griz still have to play Montana St. and SUU, both on the road, so the location of the Big Sky Tourney is still very much in play. More importantly to North Dakota is the fact that Southern Utah lost to Portland St. tonight. That leaves UND in a tie for 3rd place in the middle of the weekend.
  7. Results, 2/14/13 49 North Dakota 48 Sacramento St. 76 Northern Colorado 68 Northern Arizona 87 Weber St. 63 Montana 87 Montana St 51 Idaho St. 90 Portland St. 69 Southern Utah
  8. This is an excellent question. It sounds like this kid is a very special player, and probably a bit of coup that North Dakota got him. But how many minutes are going to be available to him with seniors Webb, Anderson, Huff, and Schuler on the floor next year? I think I am hoping he redshirts and becomes the next Will Cherry of the Big Sky.
  9. Well, everything about that game was pretty ugly except for the final score! Jamal Webb gets the game ball. Leads the Big Sky in steals, but his lone steal tonight will probably go down as the most significant defensive play of the regular season with around 5 seconds left in the game while up by 1! It was not pretty basketball tonight, but again it was a team win. Eleven assists on the night for the Sioux. When these guys share the ball with each other, good things happen! UND struggled at times with Sac's zone defense. Brekke and Wilmer were in foul trouble all night. We have no depth in the front court due to injury. As ugly as it was, I think this is one of the better wins of the season. They perservered through not having Schuler or Archer at all. Brekke twisted his ankle, but fought through it after Wilmer fouled out. Anderson left the floor for awhile after taking a shot to the face. Sac is decent and a poor matchup for us. Good win tonight!
  10. I know this isn't really the place for this, but regarding my experience/complaints about UNDsports.com streaming service, I've gone throught the help desk, and been told the trouble is on my end. The solution offered was to use Chrome instead of Internet Explorer. But that didn't help. Now the reason I'm confident that my problem is not on my end, is because I have 3 different internet providers serving my home. It does not matter which one I use, UND's webstreams constantly buffer and pixelate. Then I can switch to any game on Big Sky TV and it works seamlessly. Very few times have I had trouble with Big Sky TV. But it's now gotten to the point where I haven't tried to watch UND Sports Extra for months now, because it takes me 50 minutes to get through the 25 minute show. I fear this is what I'd have to look forward to next season if I do stay home and want to watch a hockey game.
  11. This pretty much echoes my thoughts on this whole subject. Personally, the TV deal doesn't affect me all that much as I attend most of the home games. It's the loss of exposure both nationally, and apparently regionally as well that rubs me the wrong way. Ughh........ Sorry, but that truly is awful. I would like thank you though, Jayson, for taking the time to answer all these questions. I've been one of the ones that has been pretty vocal about my disgust with this whole situation, so I'd guess I'm one who's pretty high on your irritant list. But I appreciate you going out of your way clarify things for us. Even though I haven't liked much of what you've had to say!
  12. According to the Herald, Schuler will still be out for both games this weekend.
  13. I interpretted it as just one season left.
  14. Does Darrell live close to any football players?
  15. One more question for Jayson: Does CBS have the rights to air non-conference games, or only games between NCHC foes?
  16. For a NCHC doubleheader to work, game 1 will have to be at either Miami or WMU, and game 2 will have to be at either Denver or CC. If UND is playing at home on a doubleheader night, I believe it would be the first time since the new REA opened that a home game would not be televised.
  17. Well this just keeps getting better and better..............................
  18. I should say so. If not, even more evidence of Douple's ineptitue.
  19. You know it could be that Dodson meant he applied to the Summit for baseball affiliation a short time after UND accepted the Big Sky invitation. That would make sense. In October of 2010, UND was about to accept membership in the Summit, which would have solved baseball's conference problem. UND cancelled the visit at the last minute, and joined the Big Sky, leaving baseball in limbo. Dodson could have applied for affiliate membership with the SL, the most logical option, shortly thereafter. We all know about the flame war that took place in the media between Kelley, Faison, and Douple after UND dumped the Summit. Of course the Summit probably wasn't going to respond to Dodson and UND at that point. When Douple made his collusion allegations against UND a year later, Faison said in his rebuttal that he hadn't spoken with Douple in months.
  20. The best piece of marketing that can be done for both football and basketball would be Grand Forks Herald articles about how those teams are in 1st place and near the top of the polls. I've come to the conclusion that the opponents don't matter so much. Grand Forks fans want to see a good old fashioned ass-whooping when they come to the arena. Griz fans outnumbered UND students in the Alerus last fall for crying out loud.
  21. You're preaching to the choir, bud. But the fact remains, that once the puck drops, football attendance dwindles, particularly in the student section.
  22. I don't know, but I'd assume CBSSN would bring their own HD equipment to every venue, like Fox North does. If not, apparently Midco is going to be doing HD from the Ralph next season. I don't know if that means the equipment will always be at REA for other networks to use. I would assume not though.
  23. This could also just lead to BCS schools having to pay alot more for MWC, MAC, Sun Belt, etc. schools. In turn, those non-BCS schools are going to have more money to pay FCS schools.
  24. I feel the same way. I can only assume that the advertising income from the in-house model wasn't as brisk as they thought it would be. Apparently they feel that the potential revenue from the new deals is enough to warrant denying access to tens of thousands of fans.
