We've taken a couple charges already, seems like our kids do a pretty good job of that. Da Bears are playing a zone. We need some of these jumpers to start falling.

Buthockey is exactly why. REA was in the process of adorning the new arena with 2,500 of the new Ben Brien logos, and they had new banners made to match. REA doesn't care enough about basketball to do the same when the teams moved into the Sioux Center 3 or 4 years later. The new football banners were put into the Alerus about 5 years after it opened, and they were paid for by Harold Newman of Newman Signs.

I'm talking women's basketball. The REA made new ones for the hockey team with the new logo when they opened the new arena in 2001. When the basketball teams moved into the Sioux Center in 2004, they just brought the old ones from the Hyslop.

Because the geometric logo was the one in use when they won all the national championsips. Those banners were hanging in the Hyslop and they just moved them. I'm pretty sure there are.

You are probably right. But, count me in the camp that a suspension for any amount of time is a bit of an over-reaction. I think at most, Ralston should have been made to privately address the coaches and team to apologize.

While watching the Portland St.-Eastern Washington basketball game last night, I noticed that PSU also has a single video board hanging on one end of their arena. And they are another school like Sac St. that plays in a tiny high school like gym with about 1,000 seats. I think UND must be the only Big Sky school that doesn't have some sort of video board. If they can't have, or afford, a center-hung scoreboard, there should be no reason the Sioux Center shouldn't have a flat screen video board on each end of the court.

We should start a grass roots "Free Ralston" campaign.................

I don't know that I believe any of them at this point! If FOX has enough pull to influence the number of teams, they will certainly massage the geography of it as well. As I said, I don't see both Dayton and Xavier making it in, because there is too much market overlap. If Richmond truly is a candidate, then VCU certainly is not. Not only is there market overlap, but they are not private either.

I don't know, I can kind of see why Siena would be in play. This season aside, they've been pretty good in recent years, have a great facility, draw 7,000 per game, located in New York (C7 will want their tournament at Madison Square Garden), are private (and catholic to boot), and are basketball-centric. I don't know anything about Detroit. But the "midwestern division" will need someone in that area. I think it's unlikely that the C7 takes both Xavier and Dayton.

Huh, I've only heard/read a couple of comments about Ralston on other Big Sky boards, and both have been positive when they've been watching our broadcasts on Big Sky TV. I actually really enjoy listening to Paul. He has just the right amount of homerism, yet he is critical at times when the team isn't playing well. Apparently too critical. Then again, you don't really like anything about UND, so I am not surprised you don't like Ralston.
