  1. Like I said previously, because they are just "starting out", that means UND is supposed to keep sinking 1.5 million into it every year for funsies? While getting back around $30,000. It just makes no sense at all when looking at what they give back to UND. It's non-existent in the Champions Club.
  2. Maybe they are running a D2, regional bus model for all their other sports?
  3. Women's BB has been around for 40 years and still has a smaller budget than upstart WH. As for your first point, you could not be more wrong. For a good part of the 90's into the 2000's many people showed up for the women's game and left during the men's.
  4. You're not my boss so you'll be waiting a long time. Find it yourself.
  5. At this point I don't even care about WH anymore. I want to follow this process and see what they come up with. Maybe there is another combination of sports that make more sense?
  6. No, it's pretty much common knowledge among anybody who follows sports that a D1 Women's Hockey budget shouldn't be larger than a D1 Men's Basketball budget. And frankly it's embarrassing for our University that this is the case.
  7. If Pro Bowl fullback guy gets hurt in first week of camp who is going to play fullback, then?
  8. The problem is their budget is 1.5 million.
  9. According to Brad, UND is supposed to keep losing 1.5 million per year for the next 20 years or so until Women's hockey becomes popular. They can then start charging money for tickets and only lose 1.4 million. All this during a time of a huge budget crisis.
  10. It's undeniable that on paper UND athletics should be stronger in the majority of the lower sports if they consolidated their effort/resources into 15-16 entities instead of 19.
  11. No. How about just the one's we can't afford, that offer literally zero ROI, and aren't required by our conference?
  12. Yes, the Basketball programs would receive a boost. Which they need because they are worth it.
  13. The article talks about how partisan the committee members are going to be based on what sport they support. Ironically, it's very much like how the Herald reporters slant their articles based on what sport(s) they are obviously supporting. In this case, Schlossman went out of his way to defend Women's Hockey.
  14. Article was good, overall. The point about Women's Hockey holding back Football was a complete swing & miss and obviously meant as some sort of weak pot shot at football fans. He has his job to do and part of that is to appease the people at The REA. That's fine. If Miller wrote same article it sure wouldnt take a shot at football, which really doesn't have a dog in this fight. The premise about the committee being partisan and it turning into an arrow slinging session was a good one. We will know who has the power when cuts are made.
  15. Pretty sure the poster this AM was referring to less popular sports like Baseball, Softball, Soccer. When the guy can't show up for Senior Day, ever, that tells the program a lot about what he thinks of them.
  16. LOL...no sh*t huh? They have 19 programs.
  17. I can do it pretty f'n easy. There is no way in hell a Women's Hockey program should have a bigger budget than a D1 Men's Basketball program (that supposedly wants to be a player in the Big Sky). The end.
  18. One major, major issue with UND and how they allocate funding to programs: Women's Hockey Total Expenses (2014): 1.3 million Men's Basketball Total Expenses: 1.1 million. There isn't a legitimate AD in the America that would think that is OK. Our AD is so backwards right now.
  19. Renovated is a loose term. "Freshened up" may be more accurate concerning their field.
  20. By those metrics they are unfit for the committee and unfit for leadership.
  21. Pretty good content here. Starting to all come out. Some of us were trying to express this last spring but nobody was buying it.
  22. Why are Danielle Irle and Sue Jeno both on the committee? They are both extreme feminists who stop at no no lengths to protect Women's sports. Plus, they add Dick Clay, who is a great guy, but is also a coach of a female (and male) program. Essentially, the Men's programs have NO representation because Faison is definitely not in their corner and gets walked all over by the other two above. That committee sucks.
  23. Which works against them as facilties are supposed to be somewhat equal. That field looks bad.
  24. Oh really? That is not a good sign as Soccer is just more 'easy pickings' for him and Kennedy. If they don't address the elephant in the room we will know there are forces behind the scenes.
