We can't cheer like the Canadians, beer isn't allowed in the student section <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

The only suggestion I have to create a better atmosphere in the Ralph would be to simply cheer like the Canadians do. I'm sure some of you were at the championship game for the World Juniors. The whole place was red just like it is green for Sioux games and it was the loudest it has ever been in there and I have probably missed about three games since the Ralph opened. And as I recall the Canada fans were just loud fans chanting "Go Canada Go" the whole game and also they didn't do any cheers with swearing. So there are ways to liven up the Ralph but that would mean everybody would have to get into the games not just the students and a couple hundred other die hard fans it means the dead beats actually may have to stand up and cheer once in a while.

I heard a while back like sometime in Dec. or Jan. that Taffe got his a$$ kicked pretty good and had to miss part of the season if not all because his cheek bones where broke. Basically someone rearranged his face. Not sure if true but I think so.

I agree with everyone here great recap PCM not just this one but all year. They are great to read for a guy who isn't in the Grand Forks area anymore to listen to the show. Well done PCM!!

I have seen Lee play 6 games this year including all three at the state tournament. I agree that at times he seems a little conservative. I also think alot of times he just skated backwards and kept the forward in front of him rather than stepping him up at the blueline. I especially thought he did this in the finals against Holy Angels. Instead of stepping up early he let them into the zone giving them scoring chances. I don't know if it was because Holy Angels had faster forwards than hes seen or if he just thought they couldn't create many opportunities from where they were on the ice. Anyways I think all will be changed here at UND and Hak and Berry will make him into a phenomenal defenseman if he isn't already.

The AHL All-Rookie team was announced and Bochenski, Vanek and Rene Bourque were the forwards. Are you kidding me. Rene Bourque over Zach Parise. What a joke.

Of the freshman does anyone know who are centers. I think Toews is but the Canadian trio I am unsure about. Is Duncan a center and if so do you think he can play both ends well at his size?

Here's my lines for next year. Stafford-Zajac-Murray Porter-Toews-Spirko Prpich-Kaip-Fabian or Miller Watkins-Duncan-Kozek (not sure who is a center) Not sure on Defense too many question marks. Solid goaltending.

I know that defense is our biggest question next year but in my opinion I wonder if it will hurt us to not have a grinder type of line like the Massen-Canady-Fabian line. This line in my opinion turned the whole team around as well as turned many games around but just coming out and putting on a great forecheck. I was wondering what you guys think because we will have talented forwards top to bottom next year. I see Prp-Kaip-maybe Fabian as being that type of line next year. Thoughts??

I agree that I am hoping Matt decides to play his senioir season at UND but in my opinion he should leave. He does take a lot of penalties many of which are deserved but in my opinion many aren't. I have to think opposing coaches tell their players to take dives anytime there around Matt because the ref will call anything on him and he is treated unfairly take the first penalty against Denver for example. A big clean hit that is two minutes because it was #2. I hope he stays but he is an NHL defenseman not a college one.

I agree the first two goals were Smaby being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But the second one might have been a bad tie up. I'm not sure because I couldn't really tell on the replay but it looked like his guy got a stick on it and tipped it in or otherwise it was bad luck and it went off him. The third goal on the other hand was because Smaby was reaching and not moving his feet and was beat just in front of the blue line to set up an odd man rush in our zone.

I haven't seen this talked about anywhere so I wanted to start a new thread but was anyone else surprised to see Foyt play last night. Also is Marvin hurt or did Hak just go with the mentality of he who practices better plays.

I've been nervous for awhile now. I live on the Iron Range so I have a lot of Goofer fans ready to chomp in my ear if they should somehow win. They been talking a lot of trash and I have kept my mouth shout so far so I hope I will be able to run my mouth a little after Thursday.

That is correct. No one who has committed to a College plays in the Great 8. It is intended for players who haven't signed to have a chance to showcase their talents. Bochenski played in it his senior year.

Hey WPoS where did you get this idea from. Quite possibly from your Gopher site where a Sioux fan did this to your Gophers. Just figured I let you all know it wasn't original.

Is there anything better than a Minnesota Mr. Hockey player becoming only the second player ever to win the Hobey and Mr. Hockey and he doesn't even play for the Goofies. Sertich definitely has my vote. Actually the only thing better would have been if Zach or Brandon won it.

Great recap PCM. Anybody else think that if the Sioux play Denver on Saturday night Denver has no chance. From hearing Matt and Rory's comments about Denver I'd be scared to lace up my skates if I was Denver. I hope this happens because I don't think the Sioux would allow Denver to beat them and Robbie would not let if happen. Bring on the Goofs first!!!

I agree with PCM here. Like was said Hak was a defenseman. So whats the big deal if he lets Eades work with the forwards. Obviously Hak has the last say but why not get advice from his assistants and if he likes it he uses it just like every coach. Give him credit because he deserves it. He has taken criticism all year and now has the troops playing their best hockey when it matters most.

How about Ammerman for next year? As far as I know he has not signed anywhere and wouldn't be a bad back up plan. Both him and Hardwick wouldn't be too bad.

I with PCM as well but the most disturbing thing to me and it may have already been mentioned a few times but I can't say it enough. There was a DELAYED PENALTY ON THE PLAY AND THE PLAY IS BLOWN DEAD THE MOMENT A UND PLAYER TOUCHES THE PUCK. ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN SHOULD KNOW THAT THAT ISN'T THE TIME YOU NEED TO FINISH YOUR CHECK!!!!! ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CAN READ #28.

I really don't think it matters how Lammy plays. Everyone knows JPAR the man right now and the team seems like they know that too judging by all the comments they made after the game last night. I just hope Lammy plays well to give JPAR a well needed break.
