Now that we have quite a few forwards lined up for the next few years I think we need to get a defenseman or two. I am hoping we can land Blood for the simple fact that the two D coming in next year are offensively skilled and not the big bruising type. This is why I think Blood would be a great pickup for 08 because we will need a big bruiser to go along with the skilled defenseman. Thoughts?

I see on that site that it says he is not sure if he is going to come next year or the year after. He says it depends on how much he improves this year. What are everyones thoughts on this? Do you think the staff is leaving open the option of getting another blue-chip forward for next year (Gregoire, Nash) and then having Bruneteau come in 08. That would be one heck of a start to the 08 class with him and Cichy.
-
Just to let you know. That info has been on that site for quite a while and doesn't get updated too often. Not many on this board had any idea about Bruneteau until Chuck informed us that we have an offer out to him.
-
Oh yeah I forgot about him. I guess because I don't know a whole lot about him.
-
You can scratch Lamoureux off of that list. But the rest is pretty good.
-
I don't know about that. To me and probably to alot of other people on this board little Toews wouldn't be a surprise. My guess it is someone else. But I would be extremely happy if it is Toews.

The report is that Gregoire is being persued by UND, Wisc. and Denver as well as St. Cloud I believe. On Bruteneau, everything I had read up to about a month ago was that he had a list of schools and UND wasn't one of them but I believe Chuck reported on this board that UND has an offer on the table for his services and he now has UND as a possibility. From what I see, we really only have room for one more forward so hopefully we land one of the three (Nash, Bruteneau, Gregoire). Its nice to see the start of our 08 class though. Hopefully Toews joins it soon.

Brad's blog is reporting that Mario Lamoureaux gave a verbal committment to play with his brother at Northern Michigan.

I see what your saying but he had time to get rid of the puck well before the guy behind him got even close. I guess I just prefer him going of the glass or the boards and getting the puck out in that instance rather than waiting and trying to make a risky pass up the middle. Hopefully he will learn.

I agree with a lot of the opinions I have read so far. I too believe Wisconsin is a little overrated even with Skille, Carlson, Klubertantz?. I definitely thought the Sioux were the superior team this weekend even Saturday but they did not play very well in my opinion. I watched the replay of the goal from Saturday about 5 or 6 times now and I am just trying to figure out what Finley was thinking. I didn't see one Green jersey in the middle of the ice where he tried to feather that pass but I saw three Badgers. I don't know who he was even trying to pass it to. The thing that made me the most upset was the fact that you're taught as a d-man in like squirts to get the puck out of the zone first (preferably high off the glass) especially in a tie game in the third period.

I saw that post but I don't see him listed anywhere on Heisenberg's site.
-
Is he playing in the BCHL because I don't see his name on any of the recruiting sites?
-
I hope he is coming in 08. The reason I say this is because I would like to see one or two other guys get added to our 07 class that we may have given offers to already. I just hope this doesn't keep us from missing out on some other big names. (Gregoire, Lamoureaux, Blood, Nash)

From what I hear Sacchetti will either go to UMD or the Goofs. I know he is in the top few of almost all the 08 rankings I have seen but I'm not that big on him. I played against him this summer and wasn't impressed in the slightest bit. I would also through out names such as Kelly Zajac and Derek Lee for 08. Also, Michael Cichy but I am guessing he is headed the MJ route.

I thought about Foyt but I am assuming that he isn't on scholarship and if he is it isn't much.

Here is a question I have to throw out there. Now that Malone is on board how many other forwards can we go after. With Lamoureaux (supposedly) already having an offer is it possible to land Nash and or Gregoire (from the sounds of it he is doing quite well in the USHL after only a few games) for next year. Someone mentioned that we might be after Nash for 08 but I'm not sure. Porter gone- Malone Fabian gone- Trupp Toews gone- Hamilton Not much room for anyone else.

Anyone know if the games will be on Dishnetwork? I have CSTV for friday but I don't know about saturday.

The CC series in 02-03? was pretty good as well. The year CC had a really good team with Senja and Preissing and many others and we tied the game with under a minute left. I think we were down 4-2 with a couple of minutes left and tied the game. I believe it was two ties on the weekend in which I think guys were gone for the World Juniors. The World Junior final of Canada-Russia was incredibly loud as well. I had GO Canada Go ringing in my ears for a few days after that. It was also nice because it was my second day of work and my boss let me go the games with some important Canadian clients of ours. The US game and the gold medal game instead of working your second day. Pretty nice.

Alright after seeing one exhibition game now how does everyone see the forward lines this weekend. Some people say keep Osh and Toews together and others say not to. I didn't get to see the game but I would like to see them split up myself. My lines would be something like: Duncan-Toews-Forney? Porter-Oshie-Kozek Zajac-Kaip-Vandevelde Fabian-Watkins-Miller or Bishop I kept the Kaip line together because it sounded as if Hak liked that line yesterday. Wasn't sure on Forney or Bishop because I didn't see Bishop play and Forney hasn't suited up yet. Forney was put there because I didn't know who else to put there.
-
I agree with you here. The only reason I wanted to see this game live was because I want to see the reaction of the crowd when Bina gets announced in the starting lineup but considering I live over 3 hours away and the game is on Sunday I will be watching it on the computer.
-
He has already committed to Michigan Tech.
-
You got to remember that his play in the World Juniors the winter before the draft was remarkable. He led the US to a gold medal in which he was named the Tourney's top goalie. The US would not have won gold if it wasn't for him hence his high draft later that summer. The next year he was awful in the World Juniors in Grand Forks. But I do agree with you now. When I saw him in the AHL all-star festivities last year he looked very average at best and probably looked to be the worst goalie at the all-star game.
-
I agree with you here. I really think we need to get Malone as well as a few others for our 07 class. I am assuming Lamoureux will commit soon because I would have expected him to go to the WHL this year rather than play in the USHL if he was going to play major junior. Also I would like to see Blood commit but I don't think that its possible for 07. I think he would have to be an 08. Also I am interested in seeing how Gregoire does in the USHL this year.
-
I gotta say thats a pretty strong statement even though Johnson is the #1 overall pick in the NHL draft and was one of the best defenseman on the US at the World Juniors he hasn't even played a game in college yet and you're saying he is better than an entire D-Core that was really young last year and lead their team to the Frozen Four. Based on potential, you may be right but saying right now he is better than Lee, Chorney, etc. is a pretty bold statement.
-
Alright I know this has been brought up quite a bit but not for a while but does anyone know what the deal is with Mario Lamoureux yet. Is he going to play in the USHL again this year? I am assuming that if he plays in the USHL this year that means he will be playing for the Sioux in 07 or otherwise he will go to Red Deer? this year.
