Anyone know what the shot total was?
-
Did I just hear them say on the radio that the landcows are up 3-0 on Wisco?
-
Sioux seem to be on their heels a little bit....this kill is crucial
-
Bruce McLeod commented on how far the league has come in terms of player skill, buildings, etc. and that the officiating hasn't kept up with that progress. That's one of the biggest understatements I've ever heard.

Sieve! Awesome momentum builder going into the period break. Maybe they'll put in Frazee, then you just have to get the puck to Toews

Sioux power play? *Leaves for the kitchen*
-
A Sioux goal is a goal, I don't care who scores it, but it sounds like Genoway contributed a lot to that goal
-
I left to make soup, and Bina scores. Let me know when the 2nd period starts; I think I'll stay in the kitchen for the rest of the game.
-
Definately Fabian or Bina. Just think, if Fabian got the award, they could play the RSP song in the background. FABIAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN

quick update anyone?

Maybe it's time to put down the beer....

I figured as much. But I learned my lesson last night....it's bedtime tonight. I'll check the final score in the morning. Go Sioux!!

just got home from a USHL game (we're desperate in NE) score and time left please?
-
I'm really glad that I stayed up to listen to the game, so now I can be tired and pissed off when I go to work in the morning.

Not that it necessarily matters whether you lose 5-2 to UAA or 9-2 to Maine You're still losing. If anything, having it be UAA just puts extra salt on the wound.
-
Think reuniting the DOT line would make any difference?
-
I could still live with that, so long as we are the 8. Seriously boys, put a little pressure on them.
-
I thought it was interesting to note (from the UND press release) that UND has lost to UAA 13 times overall, and 11 of those have been at Anchorage. Not great odds, but I'm hoping that the boys can pull out a sweep. On an unrelated note, as stupid as the polls are, I still have to ask. Can someone please explain the logistics behind how St. Cloud actually moves down in the rankings after having tied both nights with the #2 ranked team? I realize that they didn't win, but it didn't seem to hurt the gophers. Just wondering.

UH.......NO!!

Did not know that Petrecki was committed to BC. I thought it was a different Lamoureux (Jacques?) going to N. Michigan. The program generally listed Tri-City players committed to colleges, and did not show anything for Mario.

I got the opportunity to go to the Tri-City Storm vs Omaha Lancers game in the USHL tonight. Saw both Jake Marto and Mario Lamoreaux play. My impression is that I cannot see Marto playing defense in the WCHA. He just does not have the muscle to do it. He definitely tried, but just wasn't strong enough to move people. I also noticed that he didn't go into the corners. Most of the time he stayed just outside the scrum for the puck, rather than fighting for it. He is a smooth skater and his passing was fine. Maybe he could play as a forward, but I think he would be a liability at defense. He played with the second PP unit and also on the PK. Did not look strong on the PK. Lamoreaux didn't do anything special in the game, but he may develop into a WCHA forward at some point. He seemed to go down very easily during faceoffs, and didn't win very many. He just didn't seem to have leverage on his skates. Several times he seemed to be just skating around in the center of the ice and not doing much. Played on the second PP unit and some PK. Overall, I wasn't impressed with either player in this game and I can't think of anyone on the Sioux that I would trade for either one. Maybe they both had off games. Two players did stand out. One is Calle Ridderwall, a forward from Sweden playing for Tri-City. He looks to have a lot of potential, and had a couple of assists. This is his second year in the US and first in the USHL. He is 5-11 and 170 lbs. Looked to be a good skater, with some speed. Played for Chicago Chill last year with 43-75-118 in 76 games. The other standout was a 6-3, 210 lb. defenseman for Omaha, Nick Petrecki. Very physical, hits hard and takes people off the puck without being real mean about it. A much better defenseman than Marto, but not the offensive potential. Not really well played hockey in the game. A lot of elbows, with none being called. Several checking from behind situations, and only one called for a 2 minute minor. There also was a lot of interference, checking away from the puck, that went uncalled. A far cry from WCHA hockey. By the way, this post is by Siouxman visiting daughter Keikla in Kearney, with editing privileges by Keikla and Mrs. Siouxman.

Grieco WCHA rookie of the week....Porter nominated for Off.
keikla replied to Sioux-Hockey-Fan's topic in Men's Hockey
Not to take anything away from the way that Greico has stepped in for this team, but it's a pretty big stretch to go straight to Goerhing comparisons. -
They had to censor it because the name "Forks" is considered to be hostile and abusive towards spoons and knives.

Not WCHA, but BU tied Maine
