  1. CC announcers are criticizing the call. Man, I wish I could get this on tv.
  2. That's the way to start it off, boys!
  3. Hmmm....sounds like we have the same hilarious group in here tonight. Maybe I should start drinking quickly to insert the random idiotic drunk comments Mory00 (my brother) won't be making since he's at work.
  4. Just Curious - you stated the exact reason why I didn't vote for NDSU...pulling recruits away from UND. Granted, the calibur of NDSU recruits could hardly compare to those being sought by UND. But decades down the road, NDSU could be a hockey powerhouse, and all the people on this forum will be wishing they hadn't voted for NDSU. The thought of NDSU as a hockey powerhouse...now that's funny.
  5. I say UNL. Having a hockey rivalry between the Lincoln and Omaha schools would do wonders for the minimal hockey interest Nebraska seems to have right now. Plus UNO seems to be down there on their own...I think Mankato is currently the closest school with hockey. And the team could almost feed directly off the USHL teams down there.

    UND hosts SCSU

For either the Bemidji series or Harvard series (I can't remember which one), I remember seeing Alexander and Marvin as a defensive pair. So, if Hak feels comfortable with how they performed back then, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jones and Smaby kept together.
  7. I think it's interesting to note that the young 01-02 team also had some obvious difficulties playing at home.
  8. Briggs in goal for the gophers
  9. does the game start at 7 or 7:30?
  10. I guess no one will have a problem with McMann and McMahon for the rest of the night.
  11. when does the game start, and does anyone have a link for the uaa audio if the sioux one is messed up?
  12. Not saying that the team didn't leave Frazee hanging for some of those goals, but his save percentage isn't looking too hot right now.
  13. These announcers have been singing praises to Oshie all night. He's doing all the dirty work - drawing numerous penalties and singlehandedly killing off a USA penalty.
  14. Was that a "let's go Finland" chant I just heard in the background noise?
  15. Toews was interviewed between the 2nd and 3rd, saying that it's gruelling mentally to play your heart out every night, especially playing for your country with home ice advantage. 4-0 Canada after 2
  16. True, Harvard doesn't have a solid string of players like Stafford, Spirko, Zajac, etc. etc. But having these guys on the team essentially means nothing unless they actually show up ready to play. The Sioux are perfectly capable of beating Harvard, even shorthanded as they may be, but some of the above mentioned players have a tendency to disappear when they are most needed.
  17. I believe the pc phrase these days is "Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah"
  18. Just got home from the game a little while ago. I'm home for the holidays, so this is the first live Sioux game I've caught since the Final Five in 2004. A few things I noticed from the game: T.J. Oshie is a stud. Even if he hadn't gotten a hattrick, that kid hustles up and down the ice shift after shift and definately does not shy away from playing the body. Parise looked a little slow at times, and his angle seemed a little off during the first period. But he came up with some monumental saves at the end of the second and beginning of the third. The post helped, too, of course. The shorty was absolutely beautiful. Zajac set that up so perfect, Stafford had a wide open net. For getting minimal playing towards the beginning of the season, Miller seem fairly confident on the ice and had a couple of great scoring opportunities. How old is the Ralph announcer? That kid is good...especially for it being his first season. That's about it. This was the perfect game to fulfill my longing for Sioux hockey. I only wish I could have seen Toews play.
  19. Hmm....Matt Greene checking Parise? That could be an interesting game.
  20. He also had an assist in that game, and he scored a hattrick with only three shots on goal. Now that's a goal scorer.
  21. I'm in Rock Hill right now. It's about an hour up I-77 from Columbia and maybe 20 miles south of Charlotte. August was a little too warm for me, but tomorrow is Dec. 1, and I'm still wearing just a tshirt and jeans....something I never got to do back home.
  22. I missed the show, anyone have a quick recap?
  23. Living it up in Rock Hill, South Carolina....that's only about 20 miles south of Charlotte. So there is a Sioux fan near you, Kirk.
  24. Nothing at all against Lammy, but it would appear that JPar is the better goalie, and there is essentially no doubt in anyone's mind that this team plays better on Fridays than on Saturday's...it's the same case as last year. With that being said, I wonder if Hak would try playing Lammy on Fridays, when he would get more help from the D and the team in general, and play JPar on Saturday's, when the team is tired and there is a little more pressure on the goaltender to perform. Maybe then we could pull off both wins. I don't think JPar would have saved the night tonight, though. I guess I'll take the inconsistency of winning on Friday and being horrible on Saturday than being "consistent" and losing both.
  25. I can't get the radio feed to work from fightingsioux.com. Does anyone have a different link?
