  1. sent you text. If "budlightman" doesn't buy these i have another buyer, so they are gone.
  2. Sect. 101 Row K. $35x4. $140. PM me. I will check back later tonight.
  3. Assuming this is his only transgression and his story is accurate, I have a couple of thoughts. As a school board member for 17 yrs we don't fire a coach cuz a parent complains. We first suggest the athlete sit down and talk to the coach. If that doesn't solve the issue the parent should make an appointment with the coach. If that doesn't work then the parent can make an appointment with the activities director. If that doesn't work they can make an appointment with the activities committee. The process tends to let parent vent and give them and their athlete an opportunity to work with staff to come up with a solution. If there seems to be a problem with a coach, we would have them meet with the activities director to present their side of the story. We then have policies in place to protect their rights as an employee and allow for due process. Sometimes we have coaches do dumb things or even fail to follow policy. We come up with a corrective action plan and that has allowed some of our coaches to mature and develop rather than lose a potential good coach cuz of a mistake. There are a couple of things in this email however that concern me. We do not allow our coaches in the off season to make demands of our athletes who participate in other sports during those seasons. That can lead to overuse injuries and kids need to be allowed to be students and kids. Some kids need to work. I think it is great to make facilities available for kids for off season workouts but it isn't appropriate to threaten a kids playing time cuz they aren't practicing baseball when they are in the middle of hockey, bb or wrestling season. I certainly wouldn't fire a coach for this and even if he had been told not to do this you need to allow him due process. As far as the parent, doesn't matter if its private school or your are a big donor, you don't demand a coach be fired cuz he challenged your kid to do off season workouts. Tell your kid to talk to the coach or you talk to him if that doesn't work. Lastly, as a Catholic and product of 12 yrs of Catholic education, it bothers me we take a parent complaining more serious than the issues we had with pedophile priests.
  4. Plans visit to UND either this weekend or next. Concordia wants him to play QB. He will have D1 golf scholarship opportunities. Still wants to play FB.Hasn't made a decision yet.
  5. Also stronger arm and quicker release. He had close to a 4.0 first semester and made the Big Sky All-Academic team. He is bigger and faster. Should be able to capture starting job this spring. Bartels is good QB and shouldnt' hurt us if he gets protection. Mollberg has potential to be great and should be a difference maker. This spring he will need to prove it and then lead this fall. Im still concerned if he starts Bartels leaves and vice- versa.
  6. Coaches did a great job in one month. This looks like solid class. Now they need to add a couple who may have been passed over by FBS and coach 'em up. Great job with the coverage. This class has some kids with great potential. Curious as to what happened to Kellum. He could have run track here and we will have great indoor facility.
  7. Doubtful. When your job depends on winning, coaches tend to play the kids they think give them the best chance of winning.
  8. Go to UND. I would take some leftover $ and give our PWO's a small partial per to lock them up if they have potential. Had we done that with Shobert we likely could have kept him.
  9. So that means coach put you in the game the last 2 minutes. Lets keep this on the subject of recruiting. Hopefully we get commitments before kids go home today.
  10. The Ramussen kid from Fergus Falls who committed to Ag school wants to major in Physical Therapy. I wonder if she would have reconsidered if new coach was in place. The Ag school doesn't have PT.
  11. Shay Nielsen, Detroit Lakes. Also will be recruited for bb and track. Gophers had her there last summer for track. Throws shot put 40 ft. As jr. Front row player in vb. power forward in bb. 6' quick feet, strong. Dad played fb Mom played vb ( Mindy Sutter) and is member of UND athletic Hall of Fame. She can play all three sports at collegiate level. Played back row better than our back row kids. If coaches feel she can play at this level they would have a great shot at signing her, but she will have to decide which sport.
  12. Mike is supposed to get back to me. I think they can be flexible so people could donate what they can afford. I think it is best to have the fund set up through UND so people can deduct their donations and feel confident the dollars are going where they should. The preliminary idea was that the $500 donation would cover cost of entire uniform and donor would receive a replica jersey. We are close to 20 people. Stay tuned and thanks for being patient.
  13. They just did a locker sponsor program. $2000 per locker. Raised almost $150,000. They had been thinking about this. That is where I got the $500 figure. I liked the grey uniforms in pro bowl game. Put a green instead of yellow and they could be interchanged with our black, green and white uniforms. Anyway we need a not for profit so people can write off the donation. If they have interns in the Alumni office Or athletic dept. I would try and get each dorm, each sorority, each fraternity to sponsor a uniform, then the player who wears that number have dinner at that dorm or sorority or fraternity weekly before all home games to meet other students and answer questions about team or games. Send a coach once a season and have the players sponsored bring a teammate or two. I will give you odds that will increase interest in this team as they get to meet and know our players.
  14. Yeah we need to pick it up. I was hoping we could get at least 20 people to commit $350 and GMS foundation adds another $150 for each of the first 20 pledges. Once we get to 20 I will send it to fb alumni for $500 per uniform. I still think we can raise the $50,000 I was told they needed this spring and get them here by this fall.
  15. Heck I would have no idea.
  16. Yes. The Fighting Sioux club or I guess Champions club is going to set up an account. It will be tax deductible. You make it total of 15, only 85 to go. As soon as I get tinstructions I will post it. 85 to go!
  17. Outstanding! That is 14 and only 86 to go. Liked your post. These kids aren't going to wait 3 yrs to be competitive. They will work their butts off and get a lot better by this fall.
  18. Novak 78, Ira Murphy, Ira's 3 golf team guys (they said they are thinking of replacing me but they will pony up), UND Fan, Siouxfbfan, FSSD, gf hockey, geaux sioux, Mamma Sue, and ohihnds makes 13. Need 87 more.
  19. Yes. We had silver helmet with silver pants. I can't say what the colors would be. I would guess that would be up to coaches/players. I would choose silver or metallic grey but don't know. I believe we now have 12 on board. Need at least 88 more. Remember first 20 get matching $150 for $350 pledge. They should go to Mike Manasau of Champions Club UND alumni office. He is in Denver but I will find his email.
  20. Ok. I posed the question and a day later we have 10 posters who are in. I figured I should check with someone at UND so I called Mike Mannasau and he said he had been thinking of something similar. He said helmet, jersey, pants was something he had been thinking about. He was going to ask for $500 per uniform then donor would also get replica jersey. We would need to involve them so everyone can deduct it as a donation. Something called GMS foundation will cover the extra $150 for everyone who has already committed so for $350 you will get the benefit of the $500 donation with the matching $150. The GMS foundation will also cover $150 of the $500 for the next 10 people to commit $350 toward this project. After that I think they believe it would take about $500 per player for helmet and uniform. Boise State and Oregon have Nike and we have Siouxsports.com.
  21. Kostich was in talking to Detroit Lakes kids. Herzog is 5' 11" 205 lb QB, DB. Was good RB as Soph. Then switched to QB. Would likely play strong safety. Hits hard good quickness tough kid. Didn't play much db after 2nd game. Might be scholarship kid otherwise PWO. Kirby Siewert is 6' 2 " 252lb DL. Great feet good motor, smart. Prob PWO. Schmidt was in 2 weeks ago. Local coaches impressed with both new UND guys.
  22. The other 3 guys I golf with in Siouxperswing are in. (They may not know it yet). 95 to go.
  23. Me too. 98 to go.
  24. If helmets are $250 per and jersey and pants another $100, think we can find 100 people to commit $350 or 200 guys to commit $175 and buy FB team 2nd set helmets and another set of uniforms?
  25. Never. If you are good you don't need to tell anyone. People will know especially the poor schmuck you just outplayed.
