Solitary confinement in Leed ND school system.
GeauxSioux replied to rockbear99's topic in Community
 !! Man, you need to get over Palin. Fortunately he is doing something a little different, although you probably still wouldn't approve, since it is with the RNC. So did you end up in the hallway, too? 5th grade seemed like the punishment was the hallway, 6th grade was "go to the office". -
Solitary confinement in Leed ND school system.
GeauxSioux replied to rockbear99's topic in Community
When we were kids we either had to sit on the cold hard hallway floor or get sent to the office. Not that I ever had it happen to me. Watchmaker probably sat out there with me a couple of times for all I know. We homeschool our kids, so we don't have to use any locked time-out rooms, padded or not. They pretty much get the same treatment that I got, except it is wood floor. -
Big Sky commissioner on Idaho's situation: Top of FCS is healthier than bottom of FBS Also of note.....

I have a hard time believing that the Big Sky presidents would vote out UND, knowing that UND is working toward and has been working toward retiring the name. If UND were thumbing their nose at the Big Sky saying "well, what are you going to do about it", then yes, I could see it. UND is somewhat of a victim in this, especially since the clock ran out on the settlement. They can't do anything with breaking the law, as stupid as the law is. The retirement of the name will happen and the presidents know this. It is just a matter of time.

Take your pick..... Vandals.net and if you want the full WAC take..... WAC Board Someone has taken the time to fade the icons of the teams leaving the WAC on the WAC board.

I wonder how much attention has been redirected from UND to Montana in the Big Sky due to the federal investigations. The nickname is an issue that the UND administration has been attempting to put behind them, but have been handcuffed from doing so by the state. The Montana investigation also includes handcuffs, but in a different way. I don't see UND getting the boot and would love for Idaho to go back to the Big Sky.

Future of Vandals uncertain as WAC crumbles 2 weeks ago I would have thought Idaho back in the Big Sky highly improbable. Now I would put it at 50/50.

State of Hockey loses team to South Dakota This can't be good for bunny fans. I don't know much about the NAHL or how they schedule, but I'm sure that there will be conflicts with SDSU athletics.

I have read a number of different site over the past few days and am amazed to read how many people think this is something that UND should just fix and move on. UND has not had control over this issue for years. The president was lambasted for trying to retire it after the settlement deadline passed. UND, the state representatives from GF and I would guess that a majority of people from GF are in favor of retiring the Fighting Sioux name. Yet I continue to read where UND should fix their mess. I am hoping this thing dies next month and we can all* put it in the rear view mirror. * DaveK and and Fetch excluded.

Of all of the possible sanctions and possibilities of being shunned, this one makes me go.. meh. SDSU doesn't hold any excitement for me and UND's future.

http://cnsnews.com/b...omans-crucified This could have been right out of Atlas Shrugged.... In regards to Buffet and his secretary, the argument is her tax rate is higher than his, not that she pays more taxes. I have read even the tax rate argument is weak. Buffet pays more taxes than his secretary and if he feels he doesn't pay enough taxes, he is welcome to pay as much as he wants.

Talk about going viral. This video was released 6 days ago and has 1,111,187 views. It's being discussed on radio talk shows and linked on DrudgeReport. Who is John Galt?

I heard this referenced on a radio show this morning. Kind of dove tails into Atlas Shrugged.

That was 4 years that the Republicans had control and did nothing? I had forgotten that it was that long. Unfortunately, the fiscally responsible in DC get drowned out by the spenders. I think we can agree that Washington is corrupt and needs to be fixed. I just don't think they can or want to, which is why I asked in my first post on this topic about escape plans. Taz, thanks for the book recommendations. I'll add them to my reading list.

We had a hotly contested presidential election in 2000. September 11, 2001 happened. The Republicans took control of both houses in 2004. They got too arrogant and lost control in 2006. Bush and congress spend waaay too much money. John McCain warns about Fannie and Freddie in Senate hearings. Barney Frank debunks McCain's assertion. Financial crisis hits. Recession begins. Republicans true to form run a dull candidate, because it is his turn and lose to an energized Obama. Both parties are to blame for the debacle that is DC.

Are you saying that 50% of America fits in those classifications? Why is the number growing? In 2000 it was closer to 25% not paying federal income taxes and now we are at 50%?
