  1. Brian has done a great job.
  2. I am impressed with the growth in the School of Engineering and Aerospace. I also like the consistant growth in graduate students. I think UND is seeing a healthy mix. Online will continue to grow along with the progress in technology to deliver it. Not that this really has anything to do with online education, but I am in the construction industry and I have seen a huge trend toward meetings online. Several of the projects in which I am involved are doing online coordination meetings (BIM) to ensure there aren't any field conflict between the different trades. When you have the GC in Nashville, the engineers in Atlanta for a Florida project, the online meetings work well. Online will grow.
  3. Is that the Bisonville line on enrollment? Butts in the seats because "The economics is better".
  4. I'm interested to see where the growth is, but that likely won't come until they get the final numbers in a few weeks.
  5. There are still rumblings here and there about some kind of deal between the WAC and Big Sky. I read some of Sica's take on the WAC board, in regards to Denver and Idaho taking control of the situation and modeling the WAC how they want it and I think that is part of the problem. The 4 schools who will left in the WAC after the 2012-2013 need to make a commitment to hold it together. They can't make this work and/or expect anyone to join if they already have a foot out the door or are waiting for phone to ring from the MWC. In this age where loyalty is fleeting the 4 need to make a pact with each other for a concrete time frame to stay and hold it together. Why would Montana, Portland or anyone else want to join if NMSU leaves in 2014? Or Idaho in 2015? The WAC and Big Sky presidents need to work together to save the WAC or that BB autobid is lost and a hole will be left in the west for FBS football. None of the schools that have aspirations of one day wanting to move up to FBS will have that opportunity. Once they have a foundation, (committed schools) Hurd can start building, but they need the foundation first. If you build it, they will come.
  6. Nice pic from undfootball... http://instagram.com/p/OmRbbRNcCi/
  7. Nice first post! Welcome.
  8. Thanks for the links Bin.
  9. or maybe the WAC isn't done and they are messing with all of us... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0X0ZYbnHxA
  10. There is a nice video interview of Coach Mussman on the UNDAthletics site of Youtube. Of particular interest to a lot of us is a comment made at about the 9:45 mark. He says that there is a major anonymous gift forthcoming for the indoor practice facility.
  11. Sweet!
  12. http://mbd.scout.com...=3864&t=9239644 Idaho SBOE on conference call. Idaho fans listening to call and commenting on their board.
  13. I think the Big Sky will attempt to "capture" Denver, not letting them go east. Denver is very good academically and according to their Wikipedia page, they were the highest ranked non-football playing school in the NACDA Director's Cup. Also, UND has a ton of alums in the Denver metro, bringing UND athletics to the fans. If/when the WAC shuts down, Women's S/D will be looking for a home. Perhaps adding Idaho and Denver will get Big Sky S/D going. I know that UNA has swimming, but not sure who else has it.
  14. I see one of our local bars made the GF Herald...Bibles and booze mix Sunday mornings at iconic bar | Grand Forks Herald | Grand Forks, North Dakota Can't say I've been there in years, but it quite the popular place and the mullet toss is a huge deal in the area. I hate mullet.
  15. I played trombone and used to love playing 25 or 6 to 4. The band leader would give me dirty looks, as I would blast that one out.
  16. I was just listening to the John Gibson show and he played Gimme some Lovin' before the break. I posted the youtube video on the previous page, so no need to repost. I'm not up on a lot of todays music and am not suggesting any warm up music, but believe Gimme some Lovin' would be great for the "GOAL" music. [ From: http://www.metrolyri...avis-group.html ] Well, my temperature is rising, got my feet on the floor Crazy people rocking 'cause they want to go more Let me in baby, I don't know what you got But you better take it easy 'cause this place is hot And I'm so glad you made it, so glad you made it You got to gimme some lovin', gimme, gimme some lovin' Gimme some lovin', gimme, gimme some lovin' Gimme some lovin' everyday Well, I feel so good, everything's getting high You better take it easy 'cause the place is on fire Been a hard day and I had no work to do Wait a minute baby, let it happen to you And I'm so glad we made it, so glad we made it You got to gimme some lovin', gimme, gimme some lovin' Gimme some lovin', gimme, gimme some lovin' Gimme some lovin' everyday Well, I feel so good, everything's getting high You better take it easy 'cause the place is on fire Been a hard day nothing went too good Now I'm gonna relax, buddy everybody should And I'm so glad we made it, so glad we made it You got to gimme some lovin', gimme, gimme some lovin' Gimme some lovin', gimme, gimme some lovin' Gimme, gimme, gimme some of your lovin', baby You know I need it so bad Gimme some of your lovin', baby
  17. The remedial education courses is a head scratcher to me, although UND seems to have a low percentage. I happen to know a couple of very intelligent bordering on brilliant people that were not very good at English. In all other aspects of their education they were very bright. Are they not allowed into UND because of this flaw?
  18. ND chancellor proposes higher education changes; stricter admission standards at UND
  19. Makes me wonder for how long this will be UND's home field turf. Sure you pay the extra money for the "cushier" turf to prevent injuries, but do you pay more money if you are thinking about a change of venue in the future?
  20. I also recall reading one of Siouxfan's posts on the WAC board that there is a small window of opportunity for the WAC to be FCS for a short period ot time and invite FCS teams to join them and revert back to an FBS conference bringing all of the teams with them. I may butchered what he was saying, but I seem to recall there being a two year window on the rule that he was citing.
  21. No clue. Star2City needs to log back in and give us some analysis. I know that he wrote over on the WAC board a while back that he had some inside info on what was going on.
  22. A couple of days ago Jayson Hajdu tweeted I took it to mean starting Big Sky play. Now I'm wondering if there was something more to it.
  23. The next few weeks should be interesting.
