I saw where Grand Forks is getting close to breaking a 109 year old record for the longest winter. It made me think back to a time when it was very hot in GF. I was a senior in high school... https://weatherspark...a-United-States Boy did we have fun that spring.

I think even with the addition of Oakland the Horizon is on the edge. Especially if UIC leaves. UIC was viewed as the one being picked before Loyola was eventually chosen.by the MVC. They may not get in this year, but what about next?

IUPUI doesn't play baseball and with Horizon baseball numbers on the edge, they need to add someone who plays baseball. . I read recently where IPFW is moving basketball back on campus into a gym that seats less than 1,900. I don't think the Horizon will be looking at them, even though they do have baseball. I know that Western Illinois doesn't fit the "big city" profile, but they do play baseball, they are not too far out of the Horizon footprint and with football firmly planted in the MVFC, that is not an issue

Science is easy if you are at the University of East Anglia. The number don't fit..... make them up. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/6679082/Climate-change-this-is-the-worst-scientific-scandal-of-our-generation.html

Why are you commenting on a 11-year old thread?

Wait a minute. Aren't you the one who has stated over and over again that you are a UND fan. Your arguments are all out of the FU talking points.... awful basketball conference... nowhere to go.... geography.....blah-blah-blah. You can now lose the facade. It wasn't really working anyway. UND like being in the Big Sky. There may come a day where there will be reason to change that, but that day isn't today, tomorrow or the near future. For FU the day they may want to leave the Summit may truly be tomorrow. No get in your MG and head back to FU land.

Fullerton needs to take advantage of the situation and bring in FU and Denver. FU, is the 2 time defending national champ in football and would be travel partner for UND. There would be less chance of leakage to FBS if you keep the North Dakota and Montana schools in one conference and keep them happy. Denver, great academic addition and travel partner for UNC.

With all of the tension between the legislature and the NDUS right now, can you envision the conniptions coming out of Bismarck if either UND or NDSU announced they were looking into FBS?

I didn't know that. Nice.
-
I don't believe so. Johnny Boy is right that NDSU has been good for many years in T&F. UND will be closing that gap with new coaching and the new IPF coming on line.

Very cool.... http://www.burnmagazine.org/

The trigger for UND would be in the Montanas. As has been stated in this thread already, UND needs to keep building great facilities for all of athletics and putting resources into football.

I'm guessing that you are related to him.

I rest my case.... http://bisonmedia.areavoices.com/2013/03/26/bison-video-blog-fcs-to-fbs/

It struck me once when I saw a picture of him sitting next to Dom.

Georgia Southern and Appalachian State have announced they are jumping from FCS to FBS, joining the Sun Belt Conference. Caillou has a piece in the Forum about it along with takes from Gene Taylor and Brian Faison.... http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/394361/group/Sports/

I have lived that one before. When I was in HS a loooong time ago, we played Fargo South in football. Fargo South was ranked #1 and we had them beat the whole game, only to fall in the last two minutes. The following week we played Shanley at home and lost 73-7. One of those games where nothing went right.

Maybe they forgot to wear their "big boy pants".

They gave a great effort in the second half. Too bad they were so far behind to start that half. Really looking forward to next year. This group of guys is going to make next year a lot of fun to watch.
