  1. Newberry College teams nickname banned A lot of thought about how ridiculous this is...
  2. I'll agree that liberal=victim, but won't agree that liberal=little guy.
  3. Yes the number of refineries has declined over the years, but I don't fully blame "Big Oil". There are actually 149 operable refineries in the U.S. The refineries that we do have are more efficient than they were back in 1976. The Clean Air Act of 1990 had quite an impact on the numbers of refineries and caused some of the consolidation and the larger companies buying the smaller ones. The regulations were too overwhelming to some of the smaller players.
  4. Let's go...

  6. You can dream it. How about hiring Bollinger as an associate AD, AD heir apparent. Get the major stakeholders on board with what your vision is. Getting the Athletic Department to work as a team. I read waaaay too much here about the problems within the department. Conference affiliation. Think big and long term.

    Stroup

Unfortunate, but I don't think our whole "D" is gone because of the loss of Stroup.
  8. Did you really think saying no bison fans need respond was going to stop them from responding? This is preemptive to the inevitable Mpls response.
  9. Dubai on the Prairies or Buffalo Commons? North Dakota, the new Dubai??...
  10. The need has been identified...
  11. Insofar as radio, it may to NDSU's advantage to bring the production in house, but you're still going to have to sell it. UND does have one asset that is huge and that NSDU can't match in the delivery of product and that is FSSN. NDSU plays between 11 and 12 football games a year, which I'm sure will sell nicely media-wise. Is there really a huge market for NDSU BB? Yes, UND still has hockey and that is a huge seller, playing over 40 games a year. Throw in an average of 11 games a year in football, at least some of which will likely be on FSSN and UND's television outlook is bright. UND hockey has been quite a popular media product in the past and I don't see that changing. It may only get bigger with the other programs going from Division II to Division I. I know this is a football thread, but you can't just use one sport to base your whole media contracts upon.
  12. Sorry, the crayons were taken away. Someone kept eating them.
  13. [url=http://www.grandforksherald.com/articles/index.cfm?id=75216]Incoming UND President says he wants to raise enrollment, increase school
  14. Are we talking presidents or cars?
  15. The story that wouldn't end has been picked up by the LA Times
  16. Local hoops star, Travis Mertens, to play for UND next year
  17. Anyone hearing any news on the construction of the practice facility? I'm in the construction industry and have been watching the price of steel climb. We are involved in a project that the owner was told act quickly or the size of your project will get smaller due to the ever increasing price of steel. I'm sure fuel prices aren't helping the cost of construction, either.
  18. All things Kaukster. I love the one about duct taping Gretzky to the chair.
  19. Nice bit of editing by the Forum.... I thought sentences usually ended with punctuation. Compared to the same piece in the Herald... I guess the Forum didn't want someone in north Fargo getting upset.
  20. Nice.
  21. Sioux basketball land Mertens Welcome Travis. And for you Bin....
  22. Fighting Sioux tennis wins NCC championship Congrats ladies.
  23. Why, did the Bison win that game?
  24. I would bet the number of posts by Bison posters on SDSU, Minnesota and Egriz combined don't approach the number of posts on Siouxsports by Bison posters. Additionally, I would bet that the number of posts on Bisonville regarding UND exceed the number of posts regarding SDSU, Montana and Minnesota combined. I'm not sure about AGS, but would imagine that the posting habits for NDSU fans would be fairly typical there as well.
  25. So far the host said, while he doesn't agree with such a video because of the historical aspect with Nazi's and Hitler, he doesn't feel that it is newsworthy and no apology is due. Most have found it somewhat humorous. He also has touched on the "rivalry" and how Kolpack got a huge response on his blog when he said that the rivalry still exists whether it's a bike race or a football game. I'll have to check out the blog. I haven't seen that yet. I guess that was the end of it.
