The Bison did a nice job of taking it to the Gophs. Hopefully the Sioux will see similar success in the coming years. As for things to worry about, I feel good about the recent hires UND has made with both Kelley and Faison. Neither of them were the one I would have picked (which is why I was not on either selection committee), but in hindsight it is easy to see why these two were hired. I think UND has some great new leadership coming on board and that will lead to great things for the University of North Dakota.

I'm looking forward to the game in Hammond. It can't get here soon enough. Hopefully I can get most of my family to the game depending on the timeframe of the arrival of our 4th child. I went to a college graduation at the University Center about 5-6 years ago. Nice building. I didn't get a chance to see the football stadium, though. I echo your concerns about hurricanes. 2004 and 2005 were violent years along the Gulf Coast. Hopefully the lull in hurricane activity from last year continues. See you in Hammond slulionsfan.

I went to a crawfish boil in Louisiana over the weekend and talked to my wife's cousins who attended UNO and follow Privateer athletics. They said that there is no way that UNO will be kicked out of the Sunbelt. UNO received a sizable donation and would be adding sports in the next couple of years. On the Denver side of the equation, they said that the Sunbelt has been trying to get rid of Denver for years due to the travel dollars.

Somebody better tell the Sunbelt folks it isn't I-AA anymore. I vote that Dave K tell them.

When I was in High School we played the 5/2 Monster defense. Our "monster" wore a t-shirt under his jersey that said "Patience My Ass I'm Going to Kill Something". He was perfect for that position. He was strong, agile and the t-shirt pretty much his football mentality.

Hopefully there is a dead armadillo back there. I hate those things. I was mowing the lawn last night took a step backward and stepped into a hole above my knee. I got the hose out and stuffed it down the hole, turned the water on and put some bricks over the top of it. If anyone has a surefire remedy for getting rid of armadillos let me know.

We were having breakfast last weekend and I looked out the window and saw a large bird sitting on a branch about 30' behind the house. My wife grabbed the camera and took some pictures. We have a wide variety of bird in the woods behind us and see a lot of cardinals and eastern bluebirds, but this was one we hadn't seen. We pulled out the bird book to ID it. It was obvious after I saw it in the book. When it took off the wing span was at least four feet.
