  1. Was meant to be a bit haha. (Denver? never heard of them)
  2. Saw a good reddit forum of schools without football so gona cherry pick the ones that fit the category of east coast, west coast, mystery area team. Some of these schools do well with basketball so in theory you'd think it wouldn't be "as much" of a financial burden if they can get hockey to run close to a net 0. (Creighton and Marquette come to mind as those types) Bradley Braves: Peoria, Illinois. Charleston Cougars: Charleston, South Carolina Creighton Bluejays: Omaha, Nebraska Denver Pioneers: Denver, Colorado DePaul Blue Demons: Chicago, Illinois Drexel Dragons: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Gonzaga Bulldogs: Spokane, Washington High Point Panthers: High Point, North Carolina La Salle Explorers: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Long Beach State Beach: Long Beach Loyal Chicago Ramblers: Loyola Chicago (Sister Jean Memorial Arena is 100% the name of it if they ever build it) Loyola Maryland Greyhounds: Baltimore, Maryland. Loyola Marymount Lions: Los Angeles Marquette Golden Eagles: Milwaukee, Wisconsin Pepperdine Waves: Malibu, California Portland Pilots: Portland, Oregon St Johns Red Storm: NY, NY Saint Joseph's Hawks: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Saint Louis Billikens: Saint Louis Saint Mary's Gaels: Moraga, California Saint Peter's Peacocks: Jersey City, New Jersey San Francisco Dons: San Francisco Santa Clara Broncos: Santa Clara, California UC Riverside Highlanders: Riverside, California UC San Diego Tritons: San Diego UC Santa Barbra Gauchos: Santa Barbra Xavier Musketeers: Cincinnati, Ohio
  3. Usually odds in Vegas are either primarily juiced by 2 thoughts of thinking. This team is loaded and likely to win it, need to lower the odds. We think ALOT of people will be betting on this team if we don't lower the odds. (Think this is more the case with Penn state, any casual who has just found out about college hockey last week would've been blindly betting on them just because they saw McKenna commit, Vegas is covering themselves of the risk) Seems like UND falls in this bucket alot more recently as well, I've usually looked at our odds and thought in reality we are listed as too much of favorite but it's due to the likely volume of bets that they assume will come from our fan base. And 100% agreed with the target on their back, this will be a brand new experience for Gadowsky and every single player on that team.
  4. The greedy side of us wants at the least 2 of the following guys to commit in the next 2 weeks - Ryan Roobroeck, Martone, Lawrence (flip him from BU for some revenge after they got Boisvert to transfer)
  5. Per McMahon's newsletter it sounds like Martone and Desnoyers are still being actively recruited by colleges. Good to hear Martone hasn't closed that door. Guessing it's BC still as the front runner for Desnoyers. Martone could very well be in GF for a visit any time now. (assuming they'd have him visit while players are in town before a good chunk of them leave for the world junior showcase that starts on the 25th)
  6. He's pretty much how you'd design a defenseman in a lab if you were an NHL team hahah. The only true complaint I've seen is some people would like to see his skating improve (or refined). When you watch his highlights though overall he can absolutely fly for being 6'4" and 210lbs. It's just cleaning up the details to his skating but at that point you're nit picking.
  7. per the scout "But I'll say this about Keaton: the term 'generational talent' has been thrown around a lot [last week] about McKenna. Keaton Verhoeff might be the best right-shot defenseman prospect I've ever seen. The kid's a unicorn. I believe he'll be the best right-shot defenseman to play in college since Cale [Makar], and he'll be playing college in his draft year-as a true 17-year-old. McKenna is an '07, and Verhoeff is an '08 who was only a few months away from being in the 2027 draft."
  8. Apparently Hockey Canada is looking at taking players off their teams starting in late November for the WJC. Hopefully they consult someone from the NCAA so they can tell them how ridiculous that is with how many games players could miss if they move forward that way.
  9. Stetcher as well
  10. Wonder if Bob knows that the CHL has European imports?
  11. Nathan Grav is pretty clued in + schloss reporting still has me pretty optimistic we are in the hunt. He still hasn't signed his ELC yet either. Hopefully they have him on campus this week touring and meeting all current players back skating this week.
  12. More photogenic than old Motzko so makes sense
  13. Julius Miettinnen would be an interesting add if Nodak can convince him to leave Everett. Huge kid and he's a Finn so you know he plays both ways hahah. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/709575/julius-miettinen
  14. So we are the same page, NIL and Rev share are 2 completely different funds per the current house settlement. By "opting in" every school has agreed to pay student athletes a legally defined fair share of the revenue they make off the student athletes.
  15. Things could change of course but based on the current settlement NIL as "pay for play" is more or less done. (obviously you could still pay players under the table) NIL will still exist but it will be for the case of players getting a share of their jersey sales or being able to do add deals for products (bauer, Deeks, etc) "NIL Go" is ran by Deloitte and now reviews all NIL deals as of June/July this summer. As of present day it sounds like any absurd deals that don't make any true "Business purpose sense" will be rejected. Rev share is a 20.5 million cap (you cant spend above that) Most football schools are already spending 100% of that cap on football especially in the SEC/Big 12. So the big 10 can say they aren't going to do that but I'm skeptical because as we all know football is King. Things could change but I think Michigan, Penn State, etc are going to allocate almost nothing to hockey. UND brings in 500K minimum from NCHC streaming alone per schloss + add in Midco money for hockey + CBS TV revenue + I'd assume a share of ticket revenue. That's a hefty amount of money yearly that UND can choose to spend. I'd guess they do the Michigan State model and split it up evenly for all players but we'll see. Also rev share contracts will likely have a buyout that a team has to spend so a team would have to buyout a player from their deal at current school so they can transfer.
  16. If it does get rejected they’ll have to use rev-share money. Which is gona piss a lot of people off at Penn state internally haha. That rev share money is NOT meant for hockey I’d assume, definitely meant for football. It sounds like a lot of FBS teams are using close to all of the 20.5 million cap on football at least in year 1. Which is good from UNDs hockey perspective imo Once August 1st hits schools can offer rev share contracts now so it would be pretty funny to see UND announce deals for all of its hockey players while Michigan and Penn state can’t announce any because it’s all been spent up by football / basketball.
  17. Ya slim odds I'd imagine but there has been talk of him possibly going to the CHL for one year so if he's going to be "moving" leagues maybe just cut it down to 1 stop and go to college. You'd imagine if he was going to the CHL now you'd have heard about it already like other players from the USHL. (putting on the tin foil hat on but it seems a little curious)
  18. Curious if there's been any push from the staff to flip Tynan Lawrence and bring him in a year early (he does still follow UND on insta for what it's worth). There's the precedent from Cullen Potter as well last season to come in early and he held his own for the most part. Also flipping him from BU would be some sweet revenge.
  19. The logic of great players moving up all throughout youth hockey to play against older and stronger players will continue as it always has. Yes the CHL will be the best JR league for 16-18 year old players. But once players get past that 18 year old season there's a logical diminishing of returns for continuing to stay in the CHL for your great players that want to continue to make steps in development.
  20. Likely ... BUT you'd have to demo out every SF of concrete below the court and find a way to make a new mechanical room to house the ice refrigerant equipment. (which is a pretty major undertaking unfortunately hahah)
  21. lol he’d do it just to spite the big 10
  22. We'll definitely be running 2 defenseman on the top PP unit if he commits lol
  23. Wouldn't put it past Greg Sankey to get bored in the next few years and set himself a goal to get after his SEC schools to get hockey up and running. He'd find a way to capitalize on TV 10x better than the Big 10 leadership did if it ever happened.
  24. Haven't heard anything - But based on how he follows multiple NCAA schools on insta I'd be pretty surprised if him and his advisor haven't planned ahead to accelerate his schooling so he's ready to play his draft eligible year in the NCAA. Considering how he tore up the dub this year he'll be ready for a new challenge in 2026. Just guessing but seems like he would just follow along with other commits and do visits early fall then commit from there. I don't think he would want to drag the decision out much longer than that during his Dub season.
  25. Classic case of loaded people just missing an easy layup to do something fun and cool (along with obviously adding to his legacy) Speaking of loaded people, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ryan Smith help get BYU off the ground. Would make sense as an NCHC addition too as well to pair with ASU.
