  1. I’m gona just lean into being a delusional fan and hate on Bob for the Emery usage this week. Add some fire to this years rivalry
  2. Overall the more and more high end players from the CHL that flip to NCAA is good big picture. Makes it more and more likely that future players will choose the NCAA after their draft year.
  3. Ya based on watching Reschny this past week he is pretty solidified to be top line center. Unlikely that McQueen and his team want him playing wing or 2nd line center Also not as confident in how he will jump in to college next year with injury past plus him seeming to be kind of raw so that may have turned off UNDs staff.
  4. Ya was surprised to see him again on the 3rd pair today. From what I've seen its hard to say he's being drastically outplayed by many US defensemen at the moment.
  5. Oliver McKinney to Michigan (not too much of a surprise considering his older brother is going there) Commitments are still slowly trickling out so holding out hope for a later bat signal today.
  6. Reschny is gona be damn fun to watch. Very high hockey IQ like all of the scouts have said.
  7. With the player pool of elite players growing now with the CHL, in the future I wouldn't be as surprised to see a team with more young talent be able to beat some of the older teams come tournament time. (IE if you have the team that BU did this year + 2 more high end players from say the OHL contributing, that could be enough to push a team over the hump to beat an older team like Western) Agreed though, that you still need a full complete roster built with the right guys each year to be a threat at a title.
  8. Viggo bjork is a really interesting name on Schloss’s list of euro players. Think he’s a guy that would be able to play college this year and definitely hold his own.
  9. I'd be shocked if EJ doesn't make the team. I'm guessing he's considered a lock and they want to see what they have in the other defensemen? I know he's been paired with Hutson in the past on USA squads which seems to work out well so Hutson can roam while EJ is the safeguard defensively
  10. I'd imagine if you're a slob in your own end it might start annoying teammates, but Dupont from the shifts i've seen doesn't appear to fall in that group. (Kris Letang however....)
  11. The executive order wouldn’t be a massive surprise, the bill actually getting passed would surprise me haha. it would be similar to the recent exec order trying to limit NIL pay for play, no way it actually will go into affect.
  12. Looks like Reschny is in pretty good standing at the moment for team Canada (he’ll need to beat out some of the guys that aren’t at camp due to injury but seems like he has a shot) Thought he looked solid yesterday. Didn’t score but made some good things happen
  13. Saw a someone in Boston media tweet that he's dealing with significant injury issues apparently.
  14. Mike McMahon’s list for reference for 09s
  15. Only weaknesses (and I’m nitpicking ALOT) the D maybe isn’t the deepest if they have an injury like Schafer pop up as it did last year And then for some reason Ivankovic falters but that’s unlikely. He’s been nails in every world tournament he plays in
  16. 2 things I’d like to see this upcoming year (we’ll see if they come to fruition…) Defensemen activating more in the offensive zone and getting involved in the cycle. (From my view the past couple of years there seemed to be an unwillingness to go low to high and get the D involved at times) Ultra aggressive forecheck similar to how Florida sets up where even the D have a free rein to pressure up and hem pucks in the zone. Smaby had a coaching clinic video I’d seen where he laid out a system pretty similar to above so curious if him and Jax decide to apply that.
  17. I'm of the mindset he'll want to get the commitment out of the way so he doesn't have to deal with the distraction of questions during the WHL season. I just get the feeling he wont want to drag out the commitment like Mckenna and his team did - he seems like a different personality based on the interviews i've heard him on. Based on his social media following he also seems more clued in on the college scene than Mckenna was. The one big caveat would be if he wants to know exactly the situation of what each team's blue line will look like in the 2026 - in that case it would be a July commitment likely post draft (will be interesting to see)
  18. Looks like the Alerus is going cashless this year for football. Curious if the Ralph is doing the same thing for the upcoming season?
  19. Agreed with this thinking alot. He'll be 20 in October. From the Hawks perspective you'd like to see him take a step up in competition and see how he produces so they have a little better grasp on what they have as a prospect. He'll have every opportunity to grab a 1st line winger spot at Nodak if he earns it.
  20. Also had an all time funny goal where (I think intentionally?) from below the red line, he blasted a 1 timer off of a D mans knee cap and into the net haha
  21. Goalie Mason Courville out of PA follows Nodak and Penn State on insta (assuming he's an August 1 2026 commit based on his birth date). Looks like he's headed to Flint next year in the OHL. Based on the way the US has been producing goalies compared to Canada the past few years the CHL is gona reap the rewards of any US goalies they can swing up North for JR before they jump to the NCAA. Did a quick stat dive to compare the CHL to the NCAA for goalies with a .910 and above (seems to check out with the scoring being higher in the CHL) NCAA - 42 (compared to 24 in the CHL) OHL - 6 (NCHC had 7 goalies alone with a 0.910 above) WHL - 8 Q - 10
  22. Ya think he can fit the role of whatever the team needs from him. It'll be a fight to get into the lineup likely his first/2nd year but I think he'll be understanding of that and definitely assuming that's what the coaching staff laid out to him. Seems so far this staff knows its a risk with depth players leaving but if you're going to have depth players they better be damn good and able to step in (The days of just having a depth guy to have one seem to be over - For example sake, number 10 IMO is an example of that old thinking)
  23. The only catch with Chyzowski is if there was one coach in the nation you'd put him with to humble him it would probably be David Carle hah:/
  24. The chart comparing salary / bonuses of the 2 coaches is a little off-putting but maybe that's just me. (especially with it seeming kind of obvious they didn't part on the best of terms...)
  25. I'm guessing he would've been offer sheet eligible next summer and they wanted to get ahead of someone offering then driving up the price. Seems like a risk to those on the outside but if he scored 50-60 points next year none of us would be shocked. He also has a good cocky aura about him which IMO Carolina desperately needs on that team to help push them over the hump if you're going to beat a team like Florida in the playoffs.
