The last time they were in the frozen 4, 2 of their best players were from AZ and PA haha. I don't think they necessarily need to go too overboard with Canadian players, but at the bare minimum you'll need to have around 4 impact guys on defense + offense to keep up with the level of play with everyone else on a consistent basis.

ESPN2 showing the MSU vs BU game this Friday. For program visibility primarily would be nice to see UND leave the TV rights open for at least the Gopher series at home so ESPN was a possible option. Getting the feeling the NCHC will more than likely be taking the TV and streaming to ESPN. Encouraging to see ESPN showing some interest in college hockey present day

Think it’s important to note for context that he thankfully is overcoming a pretty brutal alcohol addiction. He can be a little much but he’s at least he comes off genuine and if this job keeps him happy and in a good place I’ll take it. (The latter is his life + the family’s going down the drain again)

Yes correct -
If you’re into that history aspect I think Matthew’s wins as the coolest spot. It’s hosted just about every event you can think of. I think it’s the oldest sporting arena in the US as well
-
I think most of us know but if you are dying to get to Matthew’s arena you need to go within the next month or so (they’re demolishing it in December unfortunately, think it has some major structural issues going on)

Saw a Rangers scout there. Granted he was likely scouting other players as well but would be an all time collapse by the rangers if they get the chance to draft McKenna lol -
Agreed on above. We've got good depth so might as well take advantage of it and not rush him back.
-
So good news actually! (very likely we wouldn't be in the running with a kid from Edina anyways) Looks like St Thomas may be the new Notre Dame hahah

Anyone know of any Pre-game bars hosting UND events in St paul before puck drop on Sunday?

Agreed on the Kernan takes. Was very impressed with how he played plus he looks massive and can fly around. -
Thoughts from the ASU game in person. Until the 3rd I actually liked Hasley for ASU in net haha. (Thought he held ASU in the game until they got their legs, his 3rd period was definitely not good but thought he showed some flashes of why he had 11 shutouts last year) Dowd I actually thought had a rough game defensively just struggle with being out of position slightly and letting guys with more range scoot around him based him being smaller. (Just 1 game though) Gadowsky I don’t think is a hobey top 10 player last year if he plays in a legit conference. McKenna - has great vision but like someone mentioned he doesn’t really have blazing speed. I don’t recall him once taking a guy wide with a burst of speed. The lack of that might make it harder for him to rack up the points people have projected him at. He did seem to pass up a couple shot opportunities so he might be paying a little too passive to start. The “generational” tag might have been premature. We’ll see

Duluth from my view has lost the benefit of the doubt based on the past couple of years. I’ll give the benefit to ASU to finish higher in the conference.

Hak was already a legend in my book personally. Seeing him help support the program in the ways he has these past few months since March has been awesome. There's only a small amount that gets reported about but seems like he's been willing to support the new staff alot. -
Saw that both games this weekend are actually streaming on YouTube so it should be free thankfully

The “description” is wrong UND will shoot on the goalie at that end in your snip twice on an unrelated note it’s a little annoying that they divider the rink in half like they did. Anyone that attends a game would want it typically be on the side their team shoots on 2 times. (Not how st Thomas labeled the seat map though unfortunately) -
I think it might be? All session tickets we already on sale i'm pretty sure
-
Would definitely enjoy seeing him play over Bogosian thats for sure.

On a note related to Flo Hockey All WHL games are on victory plus for free. They have an app for Apple TV as well so it makes streaming pretty easy

If you’re just picking 3 forwards for first team (and not filling out 2 wings with a center) I personally don’t think it’s crazy to put Boisvert in over Eiserman. If he takes the anticipated step in his game I think he’s bringing a lot more to the table than Eiserman Also wouldn’t be surprised to see Jackson Smith not make the all rookie team. Have heard some comments on pods that he’s gona have some adjusting to get up to speed with the college game. -

Ask how involved he envisions the defenseman being in the offensive zone to make it a 5 man attack. (will it be more regularly or just more out of desperation if they find themselves trailing) -
Michigan got a random 1st place vote which was pretty bizzarre

This is the only reason I could be talked into care about it. Superstition hahah -
More or less a super aged out junior player like the others that have done this recently. It makes headlines that they are "former pros" but its not much different than any other aged out JR player coming in as a freshman. What is interesting is that it sets a precedent for say an Ivar Stenberg who is playing 1 year pro over in sweden this year before he's drafted in 2026. In theory I don't see how he cant get the same exception and play in the NCAA starting in 2026 if he would want to.
