Their head athletic trainer Will Morlock seems to be a big sell for them recruiting wise at least at the surface. (it seems to maybe be a bit overblown hype but who knows maybe he is that good of a trainer?) Nightingale has seemed to target the "project" type player alot recently so those types are flowing there now because a player like them just did. (IE Stramel, Mason West, Cayden Lindstrom come to mind) Personally I'm not as bummed out about missing out on those player types. Don't get as much bang for your buck it seems when they play there for 2/3 years but you only get a truly productive player for 1/2 years.

Based on Drew Daley's insta follows it seems like he's going to entertain both East coast + Western blue bloods. Not always the case with NY area kids so a bit of an exception

Pretty damn good point haha. Both crimes seem pretty similar but the punishments are far from equal.

Unless they find a solid voice to replace Tim for home play x play the job may still be his to lose. The news is officially out now so I'm sure they'll have some other voices interested in looking at the job in the next few months. -

Ya that may unfortunately have been the case. The writing seemed to be on the wall but maybe Tim didn’t see it that way. If so it puts the school in a little bit of an awkward spot Thanks to Tim for everything if this is the end -
I think holding kids back is more about maturity + confidence (at least hopefully that's why you're doing it) That extra year of maturity helps all throughout HS with education/sports IMO or whatever the kid ends up doing + entering college freshman year a little more mature in theory. (nothing wrong if you go the other way either everyone has their own choice)

They also had 500K free up as well for this upcoming year with no buyout money on the books. Wonder if that 500K more or less was mainly re-routed from Jax to the assistants then the private money was funneled to Dane's contract. Regardless sends an awesome message from Jax about the whole staff being valuable members of a team. Based on the reporting + results safe to say Jax has held a high standard for being tenacious with time on the road recruiting, time spent coaching, pre-scouting, etc so good to see him rewarding the staff -
Wow did not expect that. If the plante family didn’t live in Duluth and have ties to them so the kids went there, hard to imagine them being much better than a 5th/6th place team yearly in the NCHC from 2025 - 2027

Grub and Boomer had some nice moments for the Northern Plains team. Still early and a ways until they get to campus but they're showing some nice signs

FWIW, Mckamey had the same PPG average as Caleb Malhotra in the BCHL last year while being a year younger. Will be interesting to see how this year unfolds. Hoping he can stay healthy for the full year. Will be pretty hard for him to put up Malhotra type numbers since Brantford was a wayyyy better team compared to how good Victoria will be Definitely not out of the question that he has a big rise this upcoming year though

Going 2 years without a conference game on TV in the year 2026 is pretty hard to stomach. That has to be the number 1 focus as a commissioner is TV exposure. And then add insult to injury the NCHC app annoyingly isn’t even available to download on Samsung TVs Obviously there were some costs involved for production that CBSSN was passing on but the exposure outweighs those costs every time IMO.

For as much flack as Nurse gets a change of scenery will probably do him good + I don’t think there were any free agent D out there that have played in 2 cup finals the last 3 years. That sharks D core will be well served IMO to have some legit vets on the D core like him and Trouba to help the young guys ease in. -
Yup he had 1 hand from MSU and 1 hand from Nashville pushing him to the NCAA.
-
Granted I haven't watch Jaxson Cover play at all but it sounds like he's still incredibly raw per the prospect guys on the athletic Have a hard time seeing how a team would take a chance on him in the late first compared to Preston
-
Scott Wheeler mentioned on the athletic’s pod recapping the draft that Carels had considered going pro this year but that he’s locked in on going to Nodak now
-
Hage even still I think it was overblown about him not turning pro Still could use another year to add muscle. Definitely won’t hurt. Plus he was going to spend a majority this summer rehabbing his injury he was battling in April I don’t buy the theory he was gona turn pro and then saw an NIL check and changed his mind. Just an added bonus
-
Perron being his size with still a so/so defensive game I’d say is the reason he’s still at Michigan. (And if it hasn’t sunk in by now not sure it ever will) Even with his skill I think it would be a reach to imagine him leaving this last April and trying to lock down a roster spot in Carolina.

Granato really proves any past Wisco fan incompetence theories about him once he opens up his mouth. He talks like he’s out to lunch lol
-
Until I hear otherwise the cat is out of the bag on their system being a hindrance on recruiting to players / advisors
-
The concern with MSU is how impactful guys like Nilson, Lindstrom, and Mason West will be this year. They needed alot more from both Nilson and Lindstrom this past year and (will say didn't watch him in Fargo) Mason West just based on stats for the Force I'm a little skeptical on how impactful he'll be his freshman year. Those 3 as far as forwards are concerned will be X factors for them. You can maybe get away with 2/3 being impactful but probably not 1/3 when it gets down to crunch time in the tourney
-
Based on how I’ve heard Scott Wheeler and others describe how they need to put on a decent amount of weight I’d be pretty surprised if they left after 1 year at UND. IMO it might be 50/50 on if they they play 2/3 years Also based on their decision to not rush jumping into college this upcoming year they seem to be committed to not rushing things. which seems like a really smart move all around by them, advisor, and family
-
If Michigan would miss on Dupont I could see them bringing him in for next year. Think he turns 18 during late September so that's why he's pushing to play this upcoming year in the NCAA would be my guess. He's one of the "older" 2027 draft elligibles
-
Didn’t watch him play in Fargo at all but based on his stat line this year was curious if he would actually go to MSU for 2026. Preston seems like a slim possibility but I don’t think this is new news behind the scenes so my guess is he knew this already when he decided to back to the WHL for one more year
-
Not to brag but I somewhat called this (granted I was assuming he was talking to LA not Toronto lol)
