True, granted Wassilyn would be the same situation (underaged who had to accelerate education)
-
Apparently BU may bring Wassilyn in early this year. (Doing that instead of bringing in Tynan Lawrence would be insane IMO) Bet Bryn and Dane will be hot on the phone to check in with Lawrence’s advisor if BU actually pulls the trigger on it. Maybe it sits fine with Lawrence but wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t either

Looking back at it Hankinson did really well during the "timeout" game. He described the emotion turn of that to a T while it happened (which seems pretty hard to do considering it's your alma mater) Ben Clymer along with being shamelessly biased, just sucks overall. Sounds like an all time snob the way he talks. -
If this causes Motzko to get extended for a couple more years I'm not sure if I'd be too angry about that hahah.

Ya Jake got to be pretty good at it after he had some time behind the mic. Scanlan (don't blame him based on just being up there in age) cant really come close to matching Jake's enthusiasm. A little curious how much longer they have Scanlan doing color... -
Definitely wouldn't bet on it, but curious if TNT / HBO streaming would maybe be someone the NCHC is talking to. Obviously have the NHL now and they are doing more sports streaming as well.

Saw a recent tweet from Cam Robinson that he allegedly hasn't had any contact yet with NCAA schools. Is the Michigan commitment a silent one?
-
Could be off but I was assuming Verhoeff was the one that got the big NIL offer (assuming it was from Michigan since he visited there along with UND)
-
Likely that Chris Peters is just throwing names out there but definitely is nice to hear Nodak mentioned by him for Dupont

Kinda like losing JT Miller in July before school starts...

For the St Thomas vs UND game at the X. Trying to get some tickets but not 100% sure what side UND will be shooting at twice? Not sure if anyone has already asked the ticket office? Looked back at the Gopher games the past few years and noticed they actually take the Wild's "Home" bench. But not sure UND can pigeon toss St. Thomas to the away bench like the Gophers did hahah. The bench names on ticketmaster dont align with the "St Thomas attacks twice" notice when you hover over a ticket.... -
Wait so they changed the high stick rule for goals back down to the crossbar height? (shoulder height seemed alot easier for everyone + the refs to determine IMO)

Swanson may be a possible flight risk if this season doesn’t go too well for him individually. (Granted if he struggles this year not too sure how big of a loss it would end up being in the grand scheme of things.)
-
Western Canadians don't really seem like the type to go to Notre Dame so I think thankfully they wont be in the picture on those recruits. Looks like they'll be more of a player on the US recruits though definitely (Having an older super structured pseudo lame duck coach gone now probably fully opens the door for Sheahan a little more too)

If they grand fathered in Dalton Andrew as a “cut” player they would only be at 25 players + 1 to get to 26 once Engel joins

Agreed. That mindset makes it interesting to see where Swanson fills in this year. Don’t see his skating getting much better so he’ll have to make up for it big time with compete level and valuing the puck in the o-zone. -
Unfortunately don't think they could make Thursday and Saturday work because they're too close together to book travel etc for the championship game on Saturday
-
Seems to be a solid bottom 6 / middle 6 player that can play in a lot of situations and take face offs when needed. Overall a solid addition. Looking ahead a lot of the guys they’ll likely be bringing in are more of the offensive type so this type of player can help balance out the bottom / middle 6 in future years. also the students have a great chance to copy euro soccer and chant “Ollieeee, Ollie, Ollie, Ollie” if he scores a nice shorty, etc
-
With the Big 10 going to the new playoff format any thoughts on the NCHC doing the same? The travel is a little more spread out but personally I'd still rather the NCHC copy the Big 10. (9th and 10th place teams can kick rocks, play better) If you get eliminated on the Wednesday quarter final game it's at least close to losing a game on a Friday, throw in a bye week, then it's tourney time. (And if you play on Thursday to open the NCAAs it's almost exactly the same timing as a typical bye week during the season) ***For those that aren't caught up Big 10 is now doing below playoff format: Week 1 Quarter-finals Wednesday Semi-finals Saturday Week 2 Championship Friday/Saturday (Exact date I'm assuming that is up to the host school? not sure)

Below is the apparent NIL package. (Or it may be rev-share? McMahon says both terms so not 100% sure. Since Providence doesn't have a football team I wouldn't be shocked if they put most of their rev share money into basketball and hockey.) McQueen had been heavily pursued by multiple programs across the country. According to sources, his total NIL package is believed to be in the range of $100,000 to $150,000 — a figure that has become typical for players selected in the top half of the first round.
-
The pegula money helps. BUT, Maybe it's just me, I've never really been sold on Guy Gadowski. Will be interesting now that the expectations for him as a coach doubled dramatically this offseason.
-
A little disappointed / surprised to see the amount of first round picks that have signed ELCs. Currently it seems to be pretty unanimous from scouts that a lot of the 1st round picks this year are relatively far from being NHL ready so they’ll be stuck in between being too good for JRs but not good enough for the NHL 1 year from now. Really comes off as poor advice from agents to their own clients - hopefully that’s not the case as it’s the players that ultimately pay the price for it
-
Did hear from a few pre-draft reports that there were concerns about compete level at times with him so that may have been a red flag to the staff to go after him
-
Russia is in the 4 nations????
-
Granted - him not following Bryn could be due to not wanting to stir up any questions or speculation
