This weekend the band will be moved over one section to try to make them a little closer to the rest of the student section. Instead of the usuall corner, the band will be sitting in the last few rows of the upper level student section. This is just a trial to see how it works. It is ultimately up to the band to decide if it works for them or if they would rather just be moved back into the corner. Maybe this will help a little bit with getting students in the upper deck to be a little more energetic and involved. It also might just piss them off having the band blasting right in their ear.

I suppose they could always haul in sod and create a playing field in the Al the week of the championship game. This is just another advantage of us staying DII. The basketball championship was pretty impressive, but getting this bid would be increadable.

Just a ? I thought of while looking at the Gophers media guide. Where did Lucia coach before he started at Minnesota?

Those are some pretty impressive stats! The 2002 season wasn't the greatest but even going 3-3 at home isn't too terrible. We have made up for it though these last two seasons. Overall those are awesome records.

The new logo is definately a step up from the other cartoon logo they have been using. I kind of like it. Have to say that I am glad that UNDs colors aren't purple and yellow though.

Bfan1234, I grew up right next to williston and I would say Hockey is the biggest sport in williston, and there are degfinately a lot of sioux fans in wiliston, try and deny it. Hockey is big in williston and SIOUX hockey is huge in western ND and EASTERN MONTANT. Wait, isn't eastest montanta, which watches sioux hockey, just as rural as western ND? And isn't eastern montana part of the BIG SKY?
-
The 14 game home win streak is much more impressive. The simple fact that three of those games are playoff games with tougher competition is very impressive. If the sioux keep playing well, they could continue this streak for quite a long stretch.

I lived out in Phoenix this last year and attended many Coyotes hockey games. There were many times that I would spot people wearing Sioux gear at the arena. One day I was standing in line in the middle of the after noon to pick up my tickets and looked over my shoulder to see a man standing there wearing a Sioux jersey signed by the entire 97 NC team. I was wearing a UND sweatshirt so I walked over to talk to him. He said he had never attended UND or even lived in ND. He said he was just a big hockey fan and had been following the Sioux for many years. Another time I was wearing my usual sioux get-up to a game and the lady behind me tapped me on my shoulder. I turned around and started talking with her. Her brother was sitting just down the row wearing a sioux sweatshirt. She had just moved there from mayville and her brother was visiting her. Aparantly he had just graduated from UND. Never saw any Gopher fans there. What can you say, SIOUX fans are everywhere!

The student section was already starting to leave by the end of the first quarter. By the end of the third quarter the student section was completely gone. By the end of the game the only people still in the stands was the band. The place was kinda quiet compared to what it has been in some games.

Tonights the BIG night. I expect to see everyone at the game tonight. Let's cheer our ladies on as they give it to the Gophers!!!!! Call your friends, call your neighbors. Ler's pack the Ralph for the debut of the Fighting Sioux Women in the WCHA!

I agree, they play that commercial all the frickin time. Instead of overloading the GF area where everyone already knows about the event, why don't they put some of the commercial time in other market areas. The people of GF only have so much money to spend in a week at the Ralph. Bring people in from out of town and it will help out the entire community.

Even with everything going on this weekend I think there will be a pretty decent attendance for the games. The players have been going around talking to all of the group organizations on campus trying to get people to come. I am in a fraternity and pretty much everyone in the house is planning on going together. I have heard of quite a few other fraternities and sororities that are planning on all going together. Hope it is a huge crowd with some great atmosphere.

Does the big sky have any sports that UND doesn't offer?
-
We have both baseball and softball and men's and women's hockey. As far as I can remember the only other sports we have not offered by the big sky is men's golf. and there are only five guys on the golf team. Guessing they probably don't all have full ride schollarships(?)

I listened to the entire game and it was all played in the first half. and our defense sucked in the first half. That is esentially the game in a wrap. The second half our D was pretty good but our QB was not there at all(he ws hurt on the side and our second string was good at times but blew it at other times(basically the times it counted)). Our ranking will drop, I kind thought that this game could go this way. But we will just come back with a vengance and make the rest of the season be twice as meaningful.

It would have been nice if he could have at least thrown the ball in the direction of a receiver!!!!!
-
We sure could have used that punt return. The qb didn't help out though.
-
I am going to go watch the third period of the hockey game. That will cheer me up. These refs really like to help decide the game don't they?
-
THis QB situation isn't good
-
So instead of the go ahead touchdown we are back at 39. We need to get some better refs for our games. what a time to start making calls
-
punt ran back for touchdown but there is a flag. coming back.
