  1. 4 on 4 right now. I would like to see UND extend that lead a little. Maybe my headache would go away.
  2. I know this is a hockey thread BUT... just in-case anyone cares... Montana is lossing 17-7 in the I-AA championship to James Madison U. The grass there looks like it could even be worse than the field in Florence.
  3. Holly !@$! I walk away from the TV for ten minutes and that is when every thing happens. I should go into the other room more often!!!!!!!!!
  4. Go Duluth. Thanks for keeping us updated on the game guys.
  5. End of first. UND will carry a PP into the second period.
  6. This game seems really slllloooooow for some reason. Just alot of back and forth.
  7. I thought Semantics was a dance class at NDSU!?!?!?!?!?!
  8. They have been getting they club hockey program going again for a while. I had talked to a few friends at NDSU this last year about NDSU getting the program going again. I guess they hired Minot State University's hockey coach earlier this summer.
  9. Maybe they were badger fans that just wanted to show how much they really are sioux fans at heart.
  10. Valdosta State was sure playing to win today when they called that fake punt on Fourth Down and converted. Sometimes you have to lay it all on the line in big situations. I will forever believe we should have gone for it on that big fourth down.
  11. Classic Sioux. Big win on friday and forget they have a second game to play on saturday. Is this a problem of getting big heads after a nice friday win and just thinking they don't need to show up on saturday?

    Division I

I have never once said that UND is in a better financial situation to go DI than NDSU as well as most people on this site have never said that. It has been made known to everyone that MONEY is the biggest hurdle to UND going to DI. UND has stated this from day one. The only thing I can think of that people may have said is that NDSU won't have the money to renovate the BSA for quite some time because they will be too busy trying to raise money just to cover the scholarships. If UND were to go DI we would not have to worry about money for facilities. That does not mean we are in better shape financially. If someone has said things to you otherwise take it up with them personally. BTW, women's hockey is going fine.
  13. I never said that internet polls meant anything. I simply posted the poll in case anybody would be interested in checking it out.
  14. My point was that as a UND student who's tuition does support our athletics team, I feel I should have some say in the matter. And I am sorry if I insulted you or Greater Grand Forks.
  15. OK. Then I wish the people of North Dakota would be more forward thinking. And I do open up my checkbook and give to UND. It is called paying tuition.
  16. I wish the people of Grand Forks could be this forward thinking. Instead, everyone in this town believes that absolutely nothing should never change and that anything that does change is EVIL!!
  17. I don't know if any of you will find this interesting but there is a poll going on Omaha.com about UNO's athletics and what division people would like to see them in. As of now DI-AA is in the lead by quite a bit. DI-A is in second with DII in a distant third. UNO athletics
  18. I love to see articles like this. I hope they can continue this and turn in into a National Championship. CollegeSwimming.com DII Polls
  19. Unless I am mistaken football also plays second fiddle at UND yet we are still able to produce high quality teams.
  20. THIS IS THE BIGGEST GAME OF CHESS THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UND and the Alerus Center have retracted their bid to host the DII National Championship game. Why do you think that is? Even though UND is not saying a whole lot of anything new on the DI issue, they are sure trying to get their chess pieces in place for anything that happens! My thought on what is going on. UND is going to try carry things on as long as possible without taking a definate stance on the DI issue, DUH! Come Dec. 13 the Big Sky has their meeting to discuss expanding. Dec. 14 Roger is on the phone talking to sources in the BSC. RT feels out the waters to see what direction the current is flowing. We all know that he has to have had some closed door discussions up to this point with someone in the know. Dec. 16 RT interviews for the NCC Commissioner, or does he?!?! Ultimately, UND is making sure it has a few options. If the Big Sky does seem interested, UND can claim that it withdrew it's bid as a gesture of their commitment to moving DI. And is it a coincidence that the NCC Commissioner interviews are just a few days after the BSC meeting? I honestly don't know. But wouldn't that look good to the BSC if Roger turns down the job and in a few months states that it was because he wanted to help with UND's move to DI. These all seem like ways that UND can put itself in a position to look good to the BSC without ultimately having to do anything until more is know on the BSC's intentions. On the other hand, if things don't sound like they may be going in UND's direction as far as being accepted into the BSC if they announce a move to DI, Roger could take the NCC job and declare that UND is going no where, will be a cornerstone of the NCC, and start trying to recruite potential members into the NCC. Let the conspiracy theories continue.
  21. It is great to see articles like this. Hope to see them more often!!!! Nasa awards UND use of research jet
  22. I like the name Suite 49. It definatley sounds like it is going to be a great atmosphere to watch games at. I just drove by there tonight and to hear that it should be open by christmas is pretty impressive, all I saw was a giant plastic box.

    BCS

O.K. I realize that this doesn'r pertain to UND football, but I wan't sure which forum to put it in. I understand the whole DI and DI-AA thing but I have a question about the BCS. I realize that the BCS schools are all DI-A. But they were talking tonight on ESPN about Utah being the first non-BCS school to make the BCS bowls and their coach being hired at MIAMI(?) or maybe FLORIDA(?), I didn't catch it all?!?!?!. My question is what is the difference between being a DI(A) school and being a Bowl Championship Series school? I know that there is a difference but I was just wondering what the difference is. Is it just a matter of paying the BCS a certain amount of money to be bowl eligable or is there other requirements involved?
  24. Well, they are halfway to a sweep again this weekend. 4-1 win over Minnesota State today. Let's keep it going tomorrow. I'll be there watching with bells on.
