  1. I believe that if NDSU is acceptaded into the BSC, UND is going to be very jelous, I will be, and if I am RT, which I'm not, I will be applying, if I'm already not, to join the league. I still can't decided, if ndsu and/or sdsu make the BSC, will they be helpful or not as far as UND getting in? I believe that NDSU and SDSU will be foaming at the mouth to get us to join. It will be a huge draw for all of the games and help out money wise for all tems involved.
  2. mesa may not have had the best first week, but that will only make them more pumped up for this week. Mesa has to be looking forward to playing in a dome. One of their highlights for their year. They will be gunning for us!!!
  3. UND has so many options of going DI, It is just a matter of what road they want to take and how long they want to take it!!!!!!!!!
  4. That has to be one of my biggest points about UND. UND has so many successful programs in DII that if we go DI it's not as if we don't have many sports that we can expect to be successful in a matter of time. Men's hockey, women's hockey, men's and women's basketball to some degree, football, and swimming and diving. These have been UND's most successful programs. Which they are right now. But the programs that UND and its Alumni can expect and invest in and know they will receive a return!!!!!!! Depending upon what you are looking at.
  5. One thing that no one has mentioned yet is the swimming championships in our program this year. At saturdays football game, they will be presenting seven(I believe) ncaa swimming championship RINGS during half time. Just another sport that could/will compete off of the bat if UND goes DI. From day 1 I have thrown Mens and Womens basketball, and Mens football and hockey in as staples of our atheltic program. But something that people have to take into consideratoin is our womens hockey program which I believe will grow into a DI national power in the next few years and our swimming and diving program. It is not as if UND moves to DI that we will be putting all of our eggs in one basket!!!!!!!!
  6. Sine the Betty was announced, all that I have heard is that it will be paid for by profits by the Ralph on a bond/loan/whatever that legal word is, that it will be paid for. From the get go, all I have heard is that it will be paid for by profits from the ralph and that they set aside up to 7 million for the arena. After that it is up to the school to finish it. Up until this last week I had not heard a single word about Betty Englestad paying for anything until the bison fans started spreading that rumor. As far as I have ever seen, it is being paid for by the Engelstad Corp(profits from the ralph). I know that there have been news stations that have "said" Betty paid for it, but since I heard about it from the get go, all I have heard is that it was paid for by profits from the Ralph.
  7. If I was playing in the metrodome filled to capacity or to lambeau field with five thousand pleople, I would be much more imtimidated by a full metrodome!!!!!!!!! What would you be more intimidated by, a full Alerus or three thousand at a cold memorial?!?!? And just to point out, how many playoff games have been played in the fargodome, how many have been played in the Alerus, and how many have been played in memorial?
  8. This is awesome. Great for these student-athletes. It just shows that UND sports are at an all time high.
  9. I guess I have seen that. THey played it in the Al during the football game last saturday
  10. I've said many times that when I am rich I am going to build UND a new 75,001 seat stadium. Of course if someone doesn't beat me to it.
  11. The alerus has a much better atmosphere than any game I ever attended at memorial. Memorial is a dump and would have needed some SERIOUS upgrading to be a decent stadium. I was there just the other day and it looks like !@$!. I understand that nothing has been done to it in probably the last five, six year but it looked terrable. I can see UND playing at an on campus stadium again but it won't be for quite a few decades. We would need some alum to step forward and pretty much fund the whole thing, such as a ralph for football. By then the Alerus would be showing signs of its age.
  12. I wouldn't mind seeing UND play minnesota in some games. We would make some money, get publicity in a bigger market, and even if we did get spanked we would just return the favor in hockey
  13. DaveK, one could argue that hockey was meant to be played outside also. Would you rather have the ralph or play on a pond?
  14. I don't mind Bison fans adding their opinion over here as long as it is productive points and not just trash talk. If you go check out bisonville.com, their message boards are full of annoying sioux fans who do nothing but spit pointless babble on their site. It is also full of bison fans obsessed with UND who cannot say anything about UND that isn't as closed minded as they can be. As long as bison fans are fairly respectful and are honestly here to discuss UND athletics, all I can say is thanks for another viewpoint.
  15. What are they like? I haven't seen one yet. and I watch alot of tv
  16. I saw that they put up another billboard about a week ago. I am surprised that there hasn't been a huge ad campaign in these last couple of days. Especially with UND being ranked #1 in the nation. For the fair weather fans, this would be the time to show up. You would think UND would realize that. Has anyone seen any tv ads or anything?
  17. I would absolutely love to see UND go DI. I understand wanting to take your time and try to win another fb or womens bb championship. but at the same time what if in 6-8 years our football team or bball team aren't even making the playoffs. Then how do you make the move with any hopes of success right off the bat. If UND moves while we are at the top of DII we could most likely step up and at least be somewhat successful from the beginning. Who knows what could happen in the next couple of years. We could win five NCs or we could have a downslide(which I honestly don't see happening).
  18. Conspiracy? I was simply stating that nobody knows what RT is doing behind the scene. You claim we don't have the paper of the stamp(?) but how do you know the letter hasn't already been sent? Just because UND hasn't "publically" stated they are looking at moving they will always be looking at the possibility. As far as RT saying that our plates were too full, maybe he stated we had full plates. I'm sorry I don't file away every little article or interview that goes on in the world of sioux sports. But when NDSU was talking about moving, RT and Kupchella had both said something along the lines that we had alot of things currently going on in our athletic department. I love how everyone on these sites has to pick apart every word that is posted.
  19. When UNC/NDSU/SDSU started talking about going DI, UND was in the middle of building 2 brand new stadiums, just getting womens soccer going again, and about to add womens DI hockey. As RT has said many times in many interviews, that their plate was just too full at that time. Now UND has added another new stadium, gotten the new teams going, and has done more fund raising than previously. Don't you all believe that this is a great way to build up to a move to DI?
  20. How can anyone honestly believe that RT is not doing alot of leg and paper work behind the scenes to go DI? UND will be in the same division of ndsu again some day. It is just a matter of when. I don't have all of the inside information that some claim to have on here, but alot of this is just common sence. Who says that RT hasn't contacted the BSC about membership, or possibly other conferences. Who says he hasn't talked to the big-wigs at the NCAA about what shake-ups could happen in the divisions. The reason that UND didn't fly at the chance to go DI with NDSU is the fact that sioux sports have been more successful in the past 6-8 years than they have ever been. Why would we just want to immediately throw that away?

    World Cup

US vs Canada just got over. disappointing 2-1 loss. I thought Canada played pretty solid but from what I watched the US just looked a little disorganized. So what kind of practicing if any do they do before games like these?
  22. Who said anything about building a new football stadium? UND could use a new indoor track facility however. If they take down the old engelstad, they could build a new indoor facility attached to the east side of memorial stadium. And with the new wellness center the hyslop could eventually either be converted or torn down for more classroom space or whatever is needed. However, as I always say, when I am rich I am going to be building UND a new 75,001 seat football stadium on campus.

    World Cup

I definately hope that the Wild game is played. That was going to be my birthday present to myself!
  24. It would be nice to see some banners that looked as classy and beautiful as all of the ones hanging at the Ralph! The NC banner hanging by itself looks a little lonely. They should definately put up NCC champ banners and maybe even a 2003 runner up banner. There is nothing to be ashamed about that for.
  25. If NDSU and SDSU has any success in any conference (hopefully the bsc) UND better lay out a five year plan immediately.
