I completely agree ScottM. I think there have been some sort of plans in place for if a move happened. I don't think there was a definate plan to move but plans so that if a move was made, things were laid out. Especially since the announcement of the new Ralph and the plans for the Alerus came about. And as far as NDSU fans claiming that RT and Kupchella said it would never happen, that is completely false. They always made a point to say that "a move wasn't for UND at this time, but we remain open to the possibility." I distinctly remember Kupchella saying that in an interview during halftime of the 2001 UND/UC-Davis game. I have it on tape if anyone would like to come over and watch it.

I was there for the couch burning also. Standing in line was some of the funnest times when going to games at old Engelstad. Even the first year of REA people with tickets would stand in line to get the best seats. Now we have assigned seating?

It would definately be fun to see a regular season game between UND and GVSU next year though. We will have to see how the rest of this season plays out though. We may still see quite the contest between the two this year.

I agree with bisonguy about playing teams like Mankato, Augustana, Crookston, Moorehead etc. I think the casual UND fan would definately enjoy watching games against some of our former NCC friends, NDSU SDSU UNC, and others such as Montana, MSU, Sacramento, UC-Davis. I personally would love to see UND play with more nationally know schools. Crookston is definately not one of those.

Is the UND administration supposed to put up a billboard in the middle of campus everytime they are considering something? no. Just because RT has slightly hinted (and I stress slightly) that they could possibly be considering it doesn't mean they need to let every person on siousports.com (or bisonville) know about it. The athletic department could possibly be considering it, but until they make some definate steps towards the move we don't need to know every closed door conversation. It's not like UND is just going to announce one day "oh yeah, we are going DI next week." As far as faculty, they will know just like everyone else when the time is right IF something is being considered. GO SIOUX (GO DI that is!!)

Then why are you complaining about us recruiting out of state? If I'm not mistaken a Grand Forks boy won the NC for you guys.

My home town is Zahl, ND. Back when it had a school its mascot was the zephyrs. By the way, ND has a professional hockey team. It is called the North Dakota Fighting Sioux. Oh wait, I think that is SUPPOSED to be a college team.

I am looking at the Dakota Student article from last week that is about UNDs enrollment. This is one of the paragraphs in it: "Kupchella said the campus is at about capacity right now, serving around 12,000 students on campus. When the new Strategic Plan is developed, Kupchella said the university may look at building more offices and residence halls and adding more courses." I personally think Kupchella has done a very good job since coming to UND. I think he definately decided from day one what direction he wanted to take UND. It will be interesting to see what the Strategic Plan sets out for plans and goals when it comes out next year.

Which link isn't working? They all pulled up for me. Dakota Hall was bought two years ago. It was formerly the RoadKing Inn North. It sounds like it would be kinda crappy but I have a friend who is living there this year and they are actually rather nice. Lots of new carpet, all of the beds/desks/stands are brand new, all wood with the UND logo carved into them.
