Everybody ready for some B-Ball on the FSSN?!?! Take it to the Coyotes Ladies!!

I would add this between either 1-2 or 2-3: Memorial Stadium remodel. This would include a new track surface. The Grandstand would be remodeled with new/expanded weightrooms, coaches offices, etc. The field would be replaced with fieldturf to allow it to be the new home of women's soccer. (the indoor practice facility would still have the same turf as the Alerus, this would allow the choice to practice on astroturf, fieldturf, or natural grass) I don't think 5 would even come into play as I see that being torn down to make room for the indoor track/practice facility.

I think NDSU would become a contender in hockey rather quickly. And I think hockey with the NDSU label would bring out bring out alot of fans. Although I see it very difficult for NDSU to get an arena from the city. It would take a group of alumni dedicated to getting the sport started by finding funding for an on campus arena. Hockey could be a money maker for NDSU, but the difficult part is finding the money to get it started.

I just mentioned yesterday that I like where the soccer field is at and think that it could be a nice facility with a little work. If you added a permanent scoreboard, a permanent building with restrooms/concessions, and maybe a brick or iron fence surrounding the field, it could become a nice facility. However, the administration may see the future of the soccer program playing in a renovated Memorial Stadium, a new indoor practice facility, or maybe even the Alerus. I guess it would make just as much sence to invest the money into existing facilities that could be used by multiple sports. I personally think that Memorial Stadium could become a very nice soccer facility. Also, I wonder what Buning's plans for as far as the swimming & diving facilities. I know that the new wellness center has plans on adding a pool in the future and at one point Buning had mentioned the idea of the new pool being able to house the S&D programs. It would be an ideal location next to all of our other new sports facilities.

Also, with lacrosse we would be bringing in more "notable" schools, both in conference and out of conference. I like the idea of Lacrosse but admitt I would have a problem if UND began going ahead with this without making sure that existing sports like women's hockey, soccer, and swimming and diving were not fully funded. While our S&D teams are funded better than most DII teams, they are far from fully funded. Imagine what they could have been doing with a full alotment of schollies. Also, I like where our soccer field is located and think it could be turned into a neat little field but it needs some basics such as score board, permanent bathroom/concession building, etc.

A nice article about last nights win: Herald Article

This article is from the wednesday Herald. It talks about a possible new housing complex downtown. I like the idea but am not too fond of the location. Another Housing Complex?

UND splitting with UMD was just mentioned a little bit ago during the US-Germany Olympic game! Talk about national exposure!!
-
I hope Mr. Buning is very proactive and starts looking at getting UND in the games at Fenway Park. I have seen UND mentioned on other forums as one of the schools being considered. The Frozen Tundra highlights are being shown on SportsCenter as I type this. It's not very often that ESPN acknowledges college hockey. And considering that 2 east coast schools would be involved ESPN would definately have coverage. It could be great national exposure for UND.

As much as I'd love to see the badgers continue their losing ways, I think come tournament time it would be best for UND and the WCHA if Wisconsin wins this.

27-0! I don't know about everyone else but I think that is absolutely AMAZING!!

We are planning on going to the saturday night game. For the games that we have gone to this year we have just bought tickets the week of the game. Because of this we have sat in section 311 with the visiting fans for every game we have gone to this year. I thought that I might see if anyone happens to not need their tickets for this saturday night and would be willing to part with them for a decent price. It would be nice to see the game from a different view-point at least once this year! We are looking for 2 or more.

Does anyone know what the actual attendance number was for the concert?

What is up with the alternating clear and blue tinted glass? And all of that plywood looks kinda tacky.

Wisconsin scores 22 seconds into the game. UW - 1 OSU - 0

It is interesting how they set up the ice on the field. The rink looks like it is sitting out in the middle of nowhere. You would think that they would have tried to set it as close to the end of the field as possible and tried to get a few seats sitting right up around the ice to keep the fans as close to the game as possible and make the rink not look like it is sitting in the middle of a field. It may be a gimmick, but if it can get a few more people to tune in and draw some attention to college hockey, I guess it can't be bad. I do not think that the NCAA tourney should be played in a similar fashion, though.

Even if UND decides to stay DII and not add any more sports, I still wouldn't mind much if baseball and softball were still dropped and those resources put towards teams like women's hockey, soccer or even swimming and diving.

The funny thing was that there were just as many Mayville State fans at the game last night as there were bison fans. At one point the AC student section started chanting "bison rejects..." The large amount of MSU fans there quickly responded with "Sioux rejects..." It sure made me smile

I have never followed the NFL or draft days and probably never will, so I really don't know anything about this. How is this all decided and set up. Or how do schools get choosen to be a part of this. Also, I noticed that UND is one of only a hand full of schools to also have a Juniors Day.

Except for the fact that it was a ndsu fan trolling on here that started this rediculous thread. I already said it once in this thread. Go read bisonville and the thread after thread that is spent trashing UND and Grand Forks and then come back here and try to tell us who has the issues.

A bison fan coming here telling us we need to let things go. Go read bisonville and the many, many posts trashing UND and Grand Forks, then come back here and try telling us we need to let things go.

I was listening to the game but I had to run get groceries before the store closed. I was sitting in my car in the store's parking lot listening to the last few minutes of the game. When Auggie pulled ahead and it was getting down to the final 2 minutes I was getting so nervous I just turned my car off and went in. I was happy to get back in my car and hear the final score. Alot of people think that an undefeated team losing a game will get them focused again for the end of the season... Hopefully this game was close enough that the ladies stay focused.
-
It didn't sound like the ladies were playing their greatest toward the end of the period but overall a pretty good first half.
-
Didn't one end up on the ice just this last season? If I remember correctly it was late in the third and we were behind. I remember them skating out with a shovel and trying to pick it up without touching it. Maybe I was just a little tipsy and don't remember correctly.

Okay, I know that there is more than 63 Sioux fans on this board that have an opinion about this. Considering how often this issue has been discussed the last couple of years, I am surprised that there haven't been more people that have voted on this.
