  1. Ha! My original version had it at 3-4 hours. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Cursed forum topics consuming my every waking moment. And, through no fault of my own, impacting my job. Why can't we pass legislation to protect me from this! taz
  2. My Friends: I cannot tell you how tiring it is to have to deal with this nickname issue for so many years. The amount of energy I spend concerning the Fighting Sioux controversy heavily taxes my otherwise worthwhile endeavors. These would include sleeping, firearms, Guitar Hero, and setting up my DVR to record Spartacus: Vengeance. It is so exhausting that I am compelled to post about it at length on this message board. Consider the time it takes me to turn on my computer, open Chrome, select thread http://forum.siouxsports.com/forum/2-sioux-name/, and then read the contents in there entirety as well as all associated links to articles and blogs. Demanding to say the least! Why, just yesterday, I spent nearly 35-40 minutes reading articles and posts during normal work hours when I could have been revising budgets, submitting proposals, and otherwise working revenue issues important to the business. Who is going to reimburse my employer for that lost time? Spirit Lake? Jim Dahl? Then, just when I get back into focusing on important activities, like watching NHL hockey, CHIRP, CHIRP CHIRP, the damned phone announces the inevitable text... "Hey, how bout that sue petishun drv? WTF? U need drink? We @ B-dubs in Chan. Get ovr here, panzy. John honked in sink after 4th shot. bwwwwaaaaaa haaaaa haaaaa. dooshbag." ...and so it goes. I'm now trying to navigate the touchscreen keyboard for the next 46 minutes to comment in detail on the all-consuming Fighting Sioux Nickname Issue while driving to BWW, nearly colliding head on with a F150 on Highway 5! I could have been seriously injured, all due to the stupid petition drive and selfish nickname supporters! And now I'm late for yet another meeting. Thanks, SiouxSports. Thanks a lot. taz
  3. Paraphrasing Fullerton's comments: "Absolutely we can drop UND. Anytime, for any reason, as long as we get all other schools to agree. That's easy." "We are awesome. You are not that special. We don't really need you, but you might benefit us at some point if you get your act together." "Some folks want you gone, others don't care. It's really a coin toss with you guys." "It's a club. If you don't like it, leave." Mr. Fullerton does not sound like someone who is wildly enthusiastic about UND membership, no matter what the nickname is or will be. taz
  4. Robinson is a machine out there. Nice discussion on the Fighting Sioux nickname by the announcers. Nothing controversial, for a change. Great ball movement and control by KU, getting second chances off of rebounds. I'm not much for basketball, but it's neat seeing the Sioux on national TV.
  5. Or, as in the case of Spadola, it's the "re-tweet" that gets ya! taz
  6. Madison is 85 square miles surrounded by reality. (credit goes to smoking hot waitress at Madison Hooters. Of course she was Republican. She's smoking hot.) taz
  7. I was not on that bus, unfortunately. But I wish I had been. Al brings some good times! taz
  8. Ugh! I'm distraught. What next? They ban fighting from hockey? taz
  9. With the "Fighting Sioux" nickname and logo being retired by the University of North Dakota, I'm concerned about my future as an active racist and bigot in the upper midwest. At whom, or more preferably what, shall I direct my hatred, hostility and abusiveness in the form of unconditional support and adoration for my subjects and their accomplishments? You see, when I wish to get my hate on a minority group, I like to do in a very public way. With a delicious hot dog and beverage in hand, I scream my utter delight as those I loathe excel in their activities, primarily sports. When the Fighting Sioux succeeded, I was happy for them; when they failed, I felt bad. All the while, I even wore colorful clothing that showed I fully identified with them and their cause, a clear sign of my support for their genocide. Now what? Cleveland Indians, Washington Redskins, Florida State Seminoles... all under consideration, especially the latter since hatred of the Seminoles is fully endorsed by the NCAA. How convenient for me! I noticed I took great interest in this Blackhawks team a couple years ago, and their run to a Stanley Cup championship. They are geographically advantageous, so on-site venting and bile spewing could be done on a periodic basis with a manageable travel budget. And, that logo... taz
  10. Picking nose at work. So what? Quit watching me.

  11. Jim: If you get the chance, please also look into why there aren't as many Taz Boy posts anymore. I miss him, er... it. taz misses self
  12. Since 06, the Eagles have gone 4-0-1 against the Sioux, scoring twice as many goals and, in the last three complete games, have utterly embarrassed them. Since '99, their record against UND is 8-3-1. I think all the talk about this being an east/west "rivalry" is rather humorous. It's clear that BC has been the premier team for the past 12 years; and their performance this weekend would suggest this year is going to be more of the same. I wish I didn't loath them so much, because they are actually fantastic to watch. taz
  13. Don't worry, Goon. All is well. Taz predicts a full and complete resolution to the issue by Dec. And when I say full and complete, I mean that everyone involved will be sufficiently, and equally, depressed. Spreading misery... It is the way of the Enlightened. taz
  14. Far be it from me to defend a Bison grad, but Carlson's letter is reasonable and prudent. You are all acting like scared little sorority girls fearful that the Fall Mixer is going to be cancelled. Get a grip. If anything, he's providing cover for the administrative blunders and delays sure to come from our BoHE and UND elite as they move through this process. No one is losing any ground on this. The message is simple: comply with the law, or at least feign compliance for cripes sake, until such time that it is repealed. I suggest calm through heavy sedation. It will all be sorted out. Then we can get on to the business of picking a lame new nickname and logo that most everyone hates, all so we can enjoy D-1/FCS obscurity, low attendance, falling revenues, and rising budgets to be resolved by tax increases. As Sowell's Unconstrained Vision theory would predict, the only people that will end up being satisfied in all of this are the NCAA Executives and University Elites. taz
  15. Taz is very excited about the new Siouxper Conference. I wonder if alcohol is to be served at all Siouxper Conference arenas? This would be a good start. As for names, they should call it "The Hockey Conference That Your Team is Not In". That way, whenever some smug Doomsdayer (eg Goofer) asks you what is the name of the new hockey conference-- which to their superior intellect is ruining college hockey-- you simply reply "The Hockey Conference That Your Team is Not In." This works fine, because no fan of a member school would ever ask such a dumb question. "North Dakota Wins Inaugural Season Title as Champions of The Hockey Conference That Your Team is Not In By Defeating Denver In 6-1 Rout" "Parise, Toews Enjoy REA Beverage as Sioux Host Irish In Matchup for The Hockey Conference That Your Team is Not In" ...and so on. Finally, I would like to offer myself, Taz Boy, to assume all duties as Director of Ladies Entertainment for this new Conference. Yes, the ladies. I am like sugar to them. taz
  16. One of the toughest losses I've seen yet for the Sioux, but having UMD win their first takes some of the sting out of it. Great job, Dogs! taz
  17. I wish I could be banned from a U of M athletic facility. I bet he could sell that ban on E-Bay for some decent ching. taz
  18. I always get very mad when people make choices I don't agree with concerning their personal finances. So much so, I must write about it in a web forum for all to see the rage. And they shall come to know this rage through my stern castigation. My choice of font. My lack of smilies. Whoa unto you, oh withholder of the donation. For I am thinking about you in a very negative way. taz
  19. Goldy's economic stimulus plan already delivered to the proper location: R. E. A. taz
  20. I think the Sioux want another crack at DU. They need to win their way to the WCHA FF where Denver and the Gwoz await. taz
  21. Can do! <crack> <ppsssssshhhhhhh...> taz
  22. Ha. ha! Excellent. And, still applies to this day. I meet new members and am stunned that the Borg mindset continues... (crap, CC scored). taz
  23. Hi Yane. I don't post much anymore but just wanted to say "Hi!" Listening to Sioux game. Having a Guinness. Taz
