  1. i still feel like dressler could solidify himselfs as the main back next year, i doubt it will happen, but i wouldn't be surprised if he is a big part of the running game. Anytime a running back rushes for over 2000 yards and 40+ touchdowns in twelve games in highschool, he's for real. Keep in mind he was always pulled either at halftime or the 3rd quarter too because the lead was so great. I think he may be a bit to small to be a go to receiver, but would be a very effective #3 wide out. just my 2 cents
  2. The ahl all-star roster was just announced, and zach parise and brandon bochenski both made the team, with parise being named a starter. Not bad for a rookie season i would say, bochenski currently has 36 points, and parise has 31 points. all star team
  3. Parise is leading the AHL rookies in scoring with 22 points, and bochenski is 7th with 17 points
  4. man, the forum must be real desperate for stories these days. There is no way NDSU would go D1 in hockey in the next 5-10 years. Man that was a good one
  5. i dont even think this is bad news for UND to get to wait a few years. Now there is more time to look at the move up and to it the right way. There will be more time to look at what is best for the insitution, and most importantly will give us a couple of years to build up the finances. There was never any news this past few months, it was just the forum trying to build up a story.
  6. something else to mention is goals scored, UND is average about 2.25 goals again(went up after michigan tech). I will agree that briggs is having a good year, his numbers are showing it. But for the offense phil has been getting in his starts, his numbers are just that much more impressive. If i had to chose a goalie, it would be without question phil. Also it depends on what numbers, win % is something that a goalie does not have complete control over. If the offense can't put the puck in the net, it doesn't matter if the goalie has a save %of 95%, he still wouldn't win. That being said, both goalies are having a great year, so why are we even discussing this?
  7. Any coach will tell you that if a player is hot it would be crazy to not start him. Lammy has put up outstanding numbers right now and i feel the job is his to lose .941 save % and GAA under 2. That being said i am not comfortable at all when parise is in net, he goes down to much and scares the crap out of us leaving the net so far, but he has played well recently. I would say start lammy friday, and depending on how the offense and defense plays start brandt on saturday. Something else that has to be takin into consideration too, is how each goalie performs in practice. I think hakstol will be a lot better with the goalie situation.
  8. one thing i dont think people realize, all of our losses have been to quality teams. 1 loss to BC 1 loss to minnesota, 2 losses to wisconsin, and 1 loss to colorado college. All of these teams are in the top 5 in this weeks poll. True it isn't a great start, but 5-5-2 isn't bad with the schedule we played. Things will turn around when we start playing teams that are rated lower than #1-5 in the nation.
  9. the women didn't get selected, south dakota was the #4 seed, but great season women
  10. i'll be there as well, two sections from the badger students in 110, and yes the sioux flag will make the trip as well! The nitty gritty is a great place to eat before the game, tons of badger fans along with a few sioux fans. should be a great series as long as the sioux dont choke like last year, man that sucked!
  11. wow 7 wcha teams in the poll this week, thats just plain amazing!
  12. can we still make the playoffs?
  13. 72 yard touchdown run by UNO 24-17
  14. touchdown by donovan alexander on a punt block by UND!!!!!!! all tied up at 17
  15. touchdown uno- uno leads UND 17-10
  16. score update, michigan tech beat saginaw valley 38-18
  17. grand valley has to make it to alabama first
  18. 39 yeard field goal by the sioux, 10-3 UND
  19. the bottom line is the we the students have the best seats in the house and people are going to look for excuses for us not to have the seats no matter what. I feel the solution is to do what wisconsin does and move us to the end of the arena, sections 112,113, 311, and 314. This way we wont be in anyones way when we stand, not if we stand. The atmosphere wont be affected at all either, as anyone who watches games in wisonsin knows. Plus we would be right next to the bars so swearing wouldn't be as much of an issue, and REA could make even more money off season tickets. Cause whether we want to admit it or not, there really is no bad seat in the house, and i think moving the students is the only solution. What does everyone else think?
  20. that was me who made that sign last year with the potulny brothers on it, good to see the idea is being used again this year
  21. anyone know who is going to be in the nets tonight?
  22. heres the honest truth, anyone who knew the way it used to be at the old ralph or even 2 or 3 years ago, will never see it that way again. The reason is simple, the students did not pay for any part of the ralph, and there for have no power in the ralph. They dont give a !@$! if the students are mad or if no one cheers, because if they can kick us out tand the sell the seats and make even more profit. I am actually kinda glad i didn't get tickets after last night, i would just be pissed off after every game. Welcome to the Ralph Engelstad Arena and home of the CORPORATE SELLOUTS, its called the University of ND for a reason, its a college hockey team, our team. I feel that should give us students certain rights, but it doesn't. People in GF think that it is the Grand Forks fighting sioux and we students are just a hassle, and guess what that may be how the Ralph Feels too. (end of rant)
  23. First of all the ralph shot down the GA request, that is what everyone wanted. And second it clearly said it would be at random, what other random way is there to do it besides a lottery or raffle, doesn't take a genious to figure that one out, or maybe it does because none of you have figured it out yet. I did not get a ticket either and am not mad about it, because i talked to jordan that night about it. Maybe before all you guys start whining about everything, you should become more informed. If you think you got screwed because you were waiting in line thursday night think again. You were breakin the rules by being there the night before, the rules were there for a reason, and you guys' broke them, there for it was your ignorance if anything for apparently getting "Screwed over". If ya really want to be a die hard fan think of and idea that would pass through REA and the Student gov't. If you dont like something try and change it instead of just bitching. Oh and by the way, The president that supposedly screwed you, gave all of the 90 tickets that were reserved for student gov't and put them in the lottery for you guys. Jordan didn't get a lower bowl seat, so tell me how was anyone screwed, you were unlucky just like me, deal with it.
  24. Listen very carefullly everyone who think they got screwed. It said right on the sheet that it would be random this year, and that even if you were in the front of the line you wouldn't get priority. It was done similar to this 2 years ago and worked fine. The fact of the matter is that over 2000 students want tickets and there are only 600 lower bowl seats. No one screwed you over, it was YOUR choice to sit in line knowing that it would be random. I was in line havin a good time, i would love to get tickets, i have the past 2 years, but life isn't fair, get over it. The student body president(Jordan Schueltze) gave up all 90 student gov't tickets that they are always guaranteed. Even he isn't guaranteed a ticket, this is the fairest way to do it. None of this should be a surprise so get over it.
  25. Williston and Dickinson have improved in the last few years, but they still have a ways to go. Bismarck Century is usually pretty good against western teams, but usually always have trouble against the demons, minot, and the eastern squads and that is usually because of depth of the team. Minot will probably be the best team this year in the west but it will be close because the demons only lost 3 of 4 players, and still have there top player returning(Aide), and the team is no longer young and inexperienced. The west(bismarck and minot) will have a better chance against the east this year being older and more experienced, while teams like central and Red River lost a lot of players from last year, so it should be interesting to see what happens.
