  1. And moms.
  2. Using your football analogy, Hak was the Bud Grant of college hockey.
  3. Some guys have "it" and some don't. I think it's unfair and frankly it sucks for those who are good to great coaches, but for whatever reason they just don't get the breaks. I just looked at the Hak record- tough, tough losses in the Final Four. The Michigan game will always be the one that sticks with me. Snake bit from start to finish.
  4. You never got sick of heading to final fours only to leave disappointed during the Hak era?
  5. But it didn't. If Hak was coach, it would have bounced off the post. He just was snake-bit and if he was the Coach there'd be no Natty. Period.
  6. I'd argue Wanzek was the best player on the offense last year. Wasn't highly recruited and has become a very nice WR.
  7. Thank you.
  8. Yesterday Agnew said he had a visit with a "program changer." I'm listening...
  9. Is that a UND thing or do you think many schools are doing that?
  10. If it's not a horrible injury year like last year, I'm with you and will join the chorus calling for a change.
  11. THIS. We all want it to be more than this, but we aren't ready to say the ship has sailed on Bubba yet. Next year is the most critical year. I like the recruits within the past 12 months including the expected new guys. I'm still hopeful.
  12. And Oxbow won't be the only one feeling this way, but c'mon, this gives you anti-Bubba guys more ammo. You should be happy. It's Christmas for you guys. Now you can hope he fails and tell the rest of us "I told you so."
  13. Now the anti-Bubba guys have Freund to condemn because he's not "new blood."
  14. So we only should be decent if it's well publicized. Got it.
  15. And speaking of beating a dead horse, it's over. He a human being who got fired from a job I bet he loved. He's gone-be decent about it.
  16. Btw, this is a great thread, but I wonder if it should be it's own or a part of 2019 Season.
  17. I'm not certain how the S & C guy can prevent Ott's or Palmborg's injuries for example. Each stepped wrong in the heat of battle. Strength can be improved, but in a football game with collisions on EVERY play, I'm not sure injury prevention in many cases is achievable.
  18. Thanks. I saw Chandon Pierre listed as all Conf and stupidly thought he had a brother. SMH
  19. Offered Yo Pierre big LB who has offers from EWU and MSU. Watch his Hudl. He's a horse.
  20. Sometimes, in any organization, a person in a lesser position could do the boss's job, but plays the role of good soldier even as he sees the errors the boss is making. I see NO reason to lay any offensive issues on Freund. Of all the positions, WR's have developed nicely over the past few years. Wanzek is the best O player coming back and Maag will be a stud. They need to use the little guys more, but maybe he will if hired.

    2019 Season

And after I wrote that, I realized I should have said I wasn't implying you were suggesting that, but I do believe and have seen others who have. My bad.

    2019 Season

Because, you know, he doesn't always want to win games. This is the part that bugs me most. The notion a coach, ANY coach wants anything but to get the W. You can condemn how he does it, but NEVER doubt that he wants to get that W more than any of us on this sometimes completely silly board.

    2019 Season

Looks like the O has all linemen back except Aplin. If they hit the weights this could be a plus group. WR's include Wanzek and Maag. These two should be two of the top WR's in the conference IF the QB gets the ball to them. Wanzek really impressed me this year. I'd say he was the O player of the year. Still have hopes for Cloyd. Looks the part of a TE! Will Boltman move past the upper classmen? Does Case have a chance to come in and play as a Frosh? Johannesson should be a monster. Gordon move back to RB? Otis gonna be player? Which RSFrosh will make an impact?
  24. But this is what ticked me off most of the season. NO spy or containment on running QB's. Just no imagination here at all by the D. This is a quote from the same 360 article. The overall play of the defense was ‘good’ but not consistent. Against NAU they only gave up 270 yards of offense with 80 of it coming on that last drive. The long TD pass was a result of a blown coverage on the wheel route where it looked like the slot receiver, Emmanuel Butler, got a late start off the line and confused the secondary. Containment of the QB on the edge in scramble situations became a serious and repetitive problem when it mattered most on 3rd down.
  25. 30... But the last game showed that they just couldn't come up with the big stop when needed. All the losses held that pattern.
