I think that with the recruits and the newcomers next year along with the medical redshirts, the team is looking in good shape for the next few years.

Shouldn't we wait for a member of GOBC to confirm?

Not to mention that while we all should support our military schools, that is a whole different level of commitment than a regular college. That can be an issue for lots of young men.

I understand the perception is that the coach pulled the kid with him and that could be true. I'm only suggesting that the player may have wished to follow the coach and contacted him about going there. I guess we don't know for sure. By the same token, the coach is paid to recruit players and then coach them. Of course, he's likely going to try to get the guys he thinks fit with his program.

Doesn't the kid get some say in this? If he struck a rapport with a Coach, and the Coach goes elsewhere, why can't the kid do what he wants? Coaches get to leave, but the athlete can't?

UND fits the description of what your son is hoping for. I went there for 7 years (I actually received 2 degrees ) Bubba and his staff are the real deal... And they are here to stay. It seems unfair that the coaches can leave but players are supposed to commit!

This is sick news and I'm guessing no one is more sick than John Santiago. We can put all the lipstick on the pig we want, but there's no real true way to spin this. It sucks! Maybe we recruit another like Grady this year but it's gonna be a tall task.

I hope you didn't take my comments as being "happy to have programs that are called Division I. "Though I'm not sure how much influence I, or any of us, on a message board can help to change that. They have every right to come here and run their mouths. It's the First Amendment. I don't like them; I don't partake in many convos with them, but they have the right to act like jackassses if they so desire. Ignore them. The only reason they come here is to get a reaction.

I don't like their fans coming here either, but c'mon guys... They are head and shoulders above any other team in the Division. 5 in a row is evidence of that and there's no real strong reason to think it won't continue next year. I wrote that their streak ends when UND beats them in the playoffs. It sure seems to me that Bubba ball is the only way to beat them and if we don't no one else will. That said, tip our hats, don't accuse them of wrong doing as it sounds like sour grapes, and let's talk about UND football not their football.

This...so true. I dislike SU and even more than that their fans, but I readily say they are the standard for what UND WANTS to be. They are for the whole freaking country (FCS)

But your thoughts on Seekamp are correct; thus the talent level was enhanced by her. I thought most of our players, with a few exceptions, looked slower in transition than theirs too.

But they went in focusing on stopping the 3 from this team that shoots a ton. Focused on that and it worked as UND had more 3 attempts in first half than they did. However, they did a nice job of adjusting to that and taking it to the hole more. That's the reason for the good start and it didn't help that even at home our guys just don't seem to have their legs until the 2nd half. I don't get that.

I assume "subbed" in that sentence should be "snubbed." NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE here seems to think UND wins the title IF they got in. Just woulda been nice to get in.

I heard (name of really good player) has (left team, broke significant bone)/or saw Star Wars last night and has decided to go to the Dark Side. He'll be enrolling at SU tomorrow. Its not so much poor taste as it is 8th grade girls locker room drama.

I just saw him as I'm watching the women's BB game. He "looked" like he was staying, but you might be right. You know this team is "snake bit" so it's gotta be him or the best player.

I've been telling anyone who will listen- The only team in the country that can stop SU's streak is right here in Grand Forks. NEXT YEAR!!!!!!

I think this is going to become a real trend-go to a FCS school, establish yourself and then have the big boys come get you. This is especially true when more money is involved and I do see the day that the BIG 25 or so will leave the NCAA and start their own super conference AND pay whatever they want for players.
