  1. Two months later: Pitching has hung in there. Topa back, Stewart back, the bullpen is getting close to the best it's ever been. Jax, Stewart, Topa, Duran, Alcala from the 7th on doesn't sound terrible. Lineup wise, Wallner has figured it out, should be a regular. Correa back in a few weeks, but Lee and Castro can handle short. It's a playoff team, now can we get one more starting pitcher....
  2. The Zajic kid is fantastic with the puck....fantastic. I think a potential first rounder when he fills out his frame in the weight room. Another kid Brad didn't list to look out for is Cooper Soller. Later 08 birthday so will only be a Sophomore this year, but the hockey sense and skating ability were among the best on a good Shattuck team.
  3. I think Rowe initially before Hammer figures out the pace and enters the rotation. I thought he'd back up Castro this year, but he took the bull by the horns and became the guy. Looking forward to a January start for him when the Broncos visit REA.
  4. Hammer is now a Bronco. Wonder what kind of scholarship they got for brother Grant.
  5. Slukynsky was #1 at Warroad. I don't think KJ would mind switching numbers.
  6. Hammer is a free agent....go after the kid....
  7. First thing I thought of was Hammer. Guessing he signed his LOI, but that won't stop teams from poking in. If he ended up at UND, Wodon, or whomever that guy is that doesn't like people attending college hockey games would lose his collective mind.
  8. Weeks later, Tier 1 team doesn't happen. Wonder what the next steps are.
  9. Or if it was the big boy division, half a season of your starting QB. Great gift from the family though. Can't thank them enough.
  10. Won a series. A step in the right direction.
  11. Yeah, how Mac handles those good NCHC d men flying down the wall on him will say a lot about the type of season he has. I'm sure he's used to d men not respecting him carrying the puck out, so it's good he's got a good grade on d zone exit passing. Guy is a playmaker. Who is the guy that plays with him that finishes what he creates?
  12. Seven in a row. Rocco had quite the response to Duran questioning pitch selection. Normally Rocco is pretty calm, but he seemed a bit mad.
  13. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/college/will-house-vs-ncaa-settlement-cause-major-changes-for-und So maybe three levels of D1 football? At some point we just drop the NCAA as a whole right?
  14. Rough stretch. Now we see old friends Rosario and Joey Gallo. Big starts for Pablo and Joe Ryan to start the series.
  15. The bottom of the lineup just wasn't competitive. Vasquez not hitting his weight, Kiriloff needs time in St. Paul, and Margot just has to be released.
  16. Castro with a night to forget in CF. But we didn't score runs anyways. Credit to Pablo for battling through 6 and a third. Not sure why we had Funderburk face Judge in that situation late with a base open, but again, didn't matter since we aren't hitting this series. Joe Ryan to try and avoid the sweep today. Id bet Austin Martin starts in center.
  17. Middle relief scary at the moment. I think a guy like Dobnak would have a better chance getting outs than Jay Jackson. Other AAA options: Topa, Varland, Festa.... Kind of bare down there at the moment.
  18. Again, tremendous starting pitching. Can't he over stated how good it has been. Another win.
  19. The starting pitching has been really good the past few weeks. With Stewart still on the IL, it'd be nice to get a 7th inning bullpen guy to go with Jax, Duran, Thielbar. Maybe its Topa, but I think you make Varland that guy if Stewart is going to be out longer than you expected.
  20. Twins on their way to another series win. Pablo getting pulled now up 9-1 in the 7th.
  21. Duran and Jax weren't available and Rocco still takes out Ober after five. Even with the long winning streak the fanbase is turning on El Rocco. Maybe that's just the way it is in professional sports. Had a friend at the game last night and he said among the light crowd that was there you had some angry folks in the later innings.
  22. Who do we think leads the team in points? The logical choice: Berg The sexy choice: Mac The dark horse choice: Omac Emery and Mac should make the all rookie team.
  23. Hopefully he can crack down on the penalty minutes. See he's got a bit of a mean streak/edge to his game.
  24. Town Hall meeting with Chaves, Martinson, Jody Hodgson on Tuesday at the Betty. "The thought process is to be as transparent as possible with information." (Bill Chaves) Anybody going? I read as well that there have already been questions submitted through an online portal.
  25. Hopefully E.J. Emery is here for two plus seasons, a lot will depend on who drafts him. Late first round/early second from the looks of it, but if you're a team that needs help on the back end taking a 6-4 kid that is a defensive defenseman is never the wrong choice. A lot of those teams in the top 10 would get a gift to get a top ten kid and then him early in round 2.
