Tip of the cap to Rocco putting Correa in the leadoff spot. Seems like he's more concerned with good contact now and not striking out a lot anymore. Julien turning into a great 2 hitter. Seems to have great at bats daily.

Nothing to be worried about....

Ohh God Pagan in a high leverage spot.... (Holding breath)

32 grand or something like that to make your young hockey player into a better play.....I meant a more spiritual young man. Heard a rumor from a friend from Alexandria that they've had issues with kids being dicks to billet families.

Twenty seven years ago today Kirby Puckett retired from the game. I'll never forget it as I watched it from St. Mary's in Rochester as my aunt was diagnosed with cancer and was getting treatment at Mayo Clinic. Whether it was a patient, doctor, janitor, you name it, there were tons of people in a family waiting area watching that press conference on TV. I think he would have easily joined the 3,000 hit club if he played another four seasons. Sad he only lived 10 more years, and unfortunately had his demons.

Paddack still with like two or three years of team control. Interesting to see what they do with Mahle, as he will be a free agent.

I personally think the pitching staff should be left alone, but if you've got a team that would give a lot for Maeda or Gray you've got to listen. I think Ryan, Ober, Lopez, you've got to keep around because you've got extremely valuable team control years. Gray-Unrestricted after this year. Could be a rental type guy for a team needing pitching. Ober-Pre arbitration years Pablo Lopez-Under contract until 2027, got to keep rolling with him. Ryan-Pre arbitration years. Maeda-Unrestricted after this year. Same as Gray. The bullpen is set for some time with some of the arms they have. Lopez, Duran, Ortega, Jax, Stewart, Alcala, Balazovic, Moran, Thielbar. You can let a guy like Pagan ride off into the sunset. The pitching staff has been successfully rebuilt in my opinion, just need to get a lineup out there that can produce a bit.

Just looked at Buck's contract and he is locked in through 2026 with a full no trade clause, and them 27-28 there are five teams he can be traded too. The Twins owe him 75 million through 2028. I hope he starts hitting...
-
Bottom of the lineup today....Kepler, Vasquez, Gallo, Taylor.....there just isn't any hope with those guys.... Last 70 games with Kepler and Gallo and possibly Taylor as your outfield. Maybe Taylor is back, depends on Buxton ever playing in the grass again.

Oof Twins.....time for a week off... Hell....a month off...
-
I've seen a lot of the new pitch challenge rule in the minors this past week. Got to say I like it. Each team gets three pitch challenges, and you retain each successful challenge. Keeps the game moving.

There was at least 160 at Aberdeen camp. Interesting note. Aberdeen's goalie coach is Matt Dumba's brother.
-
Aberdeen Wings Main Camp happening in West Fargo this weekend. Quite a few North Dakota kids out there trying out. Olsonawski looked sharp in a few of the moments I watched. Dane Jackson's kid with a good chance to make their team as well.
-
Sheyenne and West Fargo High School both losing a few players. Believe they are headed to Northstar. Bydal from Red River signed with Alaska in the NAHL, he would of been my bet for senior athlete of the year. Unless he's doing the before the season/after the season thing.

Allegiant flight from Fargo to Mesa....check. Relatives living 5 minutes from Mesa airport....check. Relatives with pool/hot tub and putting green in back yard....check..... It's just a win win for everyone.
-
Kepler has woken up for the moment. Sweep the teams you are supposed to sweep. Back to back series wins after today. Great to see Maeda back and pitching deep into games.
-
The pitching is there. Ober is arguably their best starter at the moment. Sonny, Pablo, Ryan all pretty good, Kenta getting his groove back with lower velocity, but he's an intelligent guy. If the offense could figure out how to get to 4 every game....
-
You got me there. Our Redeemers too....South Prairie....Nedrose.... *And I would have been a Minot North Sentinel.
-
I worked at MAYSA when he and Mason Morelli were coming up as squirts and you could tell those two were special. Morelli was pretty darn good, but Schoenborn was a step ahead of him back then. If you would have bet me which one would play in the NHL I would have said Alex. Looks like it will be Mason though.
-
Lol. Crazy as Magicians. And whatever they call the Minot North team. I've gotta figure out where the line is because I'm not sure what high school I would have attended had there been two back then.
-
I didn't know whether to up vote this or down vote this....RIP Walsh.....#legendary.
-
Call me a sour grapes western ND kid (who lives in the Valley now....lol....) but since Fylling, Massen, and Vig, UND has missed on some pretty good players from Western ND. Yes, I count John Lizotte in there because he was born in Minot before moving to Grand Forks.
-
Right. Case in point. Zach Nehring from Minot ends up drafted 82 overall this year. North Dakota kid, goes to Shattuck, huge success this season....and he's going to Western Michigan.
-
But they had a "closed doors meeting" afterwards. And we know how well those work!

Correa....please.....eff.....
