  1. It's easy to me to see why no blue chippas are heading our way. No more beat the bartender....sigh....
  2. Throw out some predictions: EDC winners tomorrow: Sheyenne, Davies, Red River, Central. WDA: Bottineau, Bismarck High, Minot, Legacy.
  3. Century over Dickinson 2-0 late in the 2nd. Getting a bit chippy here.
  4. Hellsten just isn't the guy. For whatever reason European goaltenders just don't work out here. Dig deeper into Minnesota and get some older USHL goaltenders lined up. If Hellsten leaves I bring in Hedquist, but if he stays two portal goalies.
  5. The two big underdogs haven't looked bad today out west. Bismarck High outplayed Legacy for stretches of that game, just couldn't score. Bottineau will be tough for Mandan tomorrow, thought they could have scored a few more against Minot.
  6. Very kind words. I'll let him know. He has young children too so he does spend a lot of time away from them to make it all happen.
  7. Minot vs. Jamestown to go to state tournament should be a good one tomorrow.
  8. And he does a great job promoting high school sports. I know Nick and the time and miles that he puts in are countless. I like how he got into the Bismarck market as well. Should be a good weekend of hockey!
  9. Heard that the PSP network will indeed have live video of the action. Great news for the WDA tournament.
  10. Davies boys and United girls didn't make it back last evening. Haven't caught any breaks weather the last two years.
  11. Poolman...LaDue....Stecher....Ausmus....Wolanan....Thompson. I probably could have coached and played goalie.
  12. WDA: Minot vs. Bottineau/Rugby Jamestown vs. Mandan BHS vs. Legacy Dickinson vs. Century EDC: Devils Lake vs. Sheyenne West Fargo vs. Davies Red River vs. North Central vs. South
  13. North and Sheyenne had a good battle. 1-0 final for North. Either team could make it or miss it for that matter.
  14. 1-1, and Central is all over Davies now.
  15. Central with their hands full thus far. 1-0 Davies 11 minutes left in the 2nd.
  16. Believe they signed a five year agreement to play an independent schedule and get the 10th seed in the EDC tournament before possibly getting full membership at the end of that cycle.
  17. Been there when it's been 115 and I'm not gonna lie, never sweat more in my life on a golf course. I'd still take it over GF winter honestly. 60 below wind chill just never grows on a person.
  18. My in laws live 15 minutes away from the Arizona State campus. Wearing your shorts into a hockey rink every day isn't over-rated.
  19. Very much agreed. I'd say you'll likely see two....maybe three portal defenseman in next year.
  20. In my opinion we have missed out on recruiting the goaltenders in Minnesota/Red River Valley the past few years. The dad of the Slukynsky kid in Warroad played for UND. The last section 8 goalie we got won the Richter award. He is headed to Northern Michigan. Locally you've got some goalies from Fargo that are having success like Trent Wiemken that is having a good year in Austin in the NAHL and was called up to the Force at some point as well. He's only 18. You've got a kid in Noel Olsonawski in Fargo that is a senior with a GAA under 1. Plenty of room for those guys to grow. People forget that guys like Hunter Shepherd and Ryan Faragher were NAHL guys. Kids like this have to be on the radar. People will say "but we have Kaleb Johnson", but honestly he wasn't great in the NAHL and played on loaded Central teams so he was not tested much in high school. I'm looking at kids that could be regular starters at UND. Maybe the Hedquist kid from Minnesota turns that tide and gets us away from the portal, but he hasn't lit the world on fire either lately.
  21. Agreed 100%. Surprised the Chiefs ran that play even. Don't score a TD there and give Hurts time.
  22. Thankfully the CB for the Eagles came out and said it was a correct holding call so the people of beautiful Philadelphia didn't destroy their ci....ohh.....again huh....
  23. Hedquist turns 20 on Tuesday of this week so he could play another year in the BCHL if the coaches so desire.
  24. My sources say....ja...that two new portal goalies enter the fold. Haven't heard anything on the Swede leaving though.
