I guess what I have enjoyed is how much this championship has meant to the fans of Duluth. I read some interviews on line with long time fans and talked to some after the game, and just the gratification that they got was something nice to see. Its been so long since the Sioux got #7, that the next time they get it done it will mean that much more to me. Duluth has a lot of underclassmen. They could easily be back next year. Lose the goalie, lose Fontaine, probably Faulk, but if both Connolly's stay they have a good foundation built. Plus Brown is one helluva player....wow.

Congrats to your team. The better team won that game, Duluth was very deserving of the championship.

You spending your time on this SIOUX website trying to tick people off is classy. Heck, your profile picture is ultra classy. I didn't realize that you were such a big Michigan fan....wow....classy..... You of all people talking about class? $100 says that you'll come back here and make more stupid posts.....

Here is what I'll miss about each of them.... Davidson-Did whatever was asked of him. A true team guy. LaPoint-Coming back from the injury, and elevating his game. A solid four year defenseman. Marto-Could play anywhere they asked him to play. And was successful wherever they put him. Trupp-His creativity with the puck. The goal against the gophers was amazing......He scored a couple of goals that I'll never forget. Malone-Put his body on the line over and over again and was never afraid to go into the rough areas with the puck. I think he'll have a good career in the NHL. Frattin-Just the comeback he made. Turning his life around. A lot of players would have just took the money. He made things right with the university. Genoway-Great skating ability, and maneuverability with the puck. I'm so glad that we got to see him play another year. Talk about a kid that was hit with injuries time and time again, but always came back. No, they didn't win a national championship, but I still consider them to be an extremely successful class. Two McNaughton cups, two Broadmore trophies, two frozen fours. I know success is based on championships at UND, but these guys played their hearts out each time they stepped on the ice.

Go to Brad Schlossman's blog, and read what he has to say about the Frattin hatred. His quote, not mine...."That being said, I

Congrats to Miele. My green heart wanted Frattin, but Miele was a very deserving candidate as well. Lots of Frattin hatred around the country. It amazes me how many people around the country never have made a mistake in their entire lives, and never made a mistake in college. Lots of halos to be handed out!

I have a buddy who said the same thing to me last night. That he has cursed them! Please don't do this. It has nothing to do with you. You only live so long, and why take a year off of rooting and watching your favorite team?
-
I have heard this as well. I am related to some huge Montreal Canadian followers in Winnepeg, that know more about the Habs than I can ever imagine (I don't know how they find out some of the NHL moves before they happen), but I got the word from them that it is only a matter of time before Kristo signs with them. Please be wrong....please be wrong.....please be wrong.....

Would love to see Eidsness stick around another year so Gothberg gets another year in the USHL, hopefully being "the guy".
-
Wilbur's possible see you later players...... Kristo (Likely) Gregoire (50/50) Blood (50/50) Eidsness (90%)

Thank you to a group of guys that played their hearts out the entire season. In the one and done scenario anything can happen. One goalie playing the hockey game of his life unfortunately ended our season. Thank you so much seniors! It was a pleasure watching you play for my favorite team. Trupp, Frattin, Malone, Marto, LaPoint, Davidson, Genoway.

Can't believe that Notre Dame is going with a 2-1-2 forecheck with the FCC line on the ice.....my gosh, talk about wanting to give up oddman chances. Maybe they thought they'd surprise them by pressing that line in their own end.....Jeff Jackson is wiser than I, he must have something in his back pocket with this.

Less than a day away from the game.......of course I can't sleep.... If the Sioux play their A game no one in the nation can beat them. Get up on them, get the crowd into the game, and leave little doubt. Go Sioux!

Agreed, he dictates a lot of the posting that I do. AZ does an outstanding job setting up the game week threads. I think this game will be dictated by specialty teams. If we see a lot of powerplays both ways and the flow goes out of the game with a lot of stoppages, advantage Michigan. The sioux take three or less penalties, and 90% of the game is played five on five, advantage sioux. Hopefully we have an officiating crew that allows the physical play, and doesn't over-officiate the hockey game. If the Sioux aren't killing penalties and rolling four lines they'll be tough to beat.

You know speaking of Junior Lessard, he reminds me of a story from the USCHO hockey site involving Drunk Hockey Guy. I used to post over on that site, and the incident occurred shortly after Lessard had his extremely unfortunate incident on Lake Superior the summer before he won the Hobey Baker award (where he and a teammate were swimming and he nearly lost his life). Well anyways, a fan of another team (might have even been the Sioux) ripped on the fact that Lessard almost lost his life and about his swimming ability. Drunk Hockey Guy went nuts after the guy made these comments about Lessard, and scolded everyone about the fact that "this isn't something that should be joked about or brought up in a public forum". Funny that all these years later DHG feels its acceptable to bring up the Kristo incident on public radio......

Cancer takes another victim far too young to leave us this early. Prayers to the family and RIP Mandi.

Absolutely. For years I have cheered for UMD at the final five, and had great conversations with Duluth backers at the final five. I was a big fan of Isaac Reichmuth and Junor Lessard when they went on their run back in like 2004. Three years ago when they won three games and won the final five (one of them over the Sioux) I cheered for them for two of the three games, and applauded their final five championship that year. (And watched every minute of their playoff run at Mariucci). The past two years have been awful. And the Duluth fans have been the ringleaders of it. I can't cheer for them anymore when their is such a hatred towards my team. Just can't happen.

Hmmm, hadn't heard about this happening....You would hope an usher would have taken this individual out of the building, but then again I've learned that the ushers at the X really don't care about removing fans for doing stupid stuff unless its a fan wearing kelly green.

So what's the real reason for all the Sioux bashing

First thing he says when he gets to his seat, "I'm handicapped, I need help". Then we got a whiff of him.....my God...... -

The part that was absolutely unacceptable was the fact that the usher had to have smelled the fact this guy was intoxicated, but basically carrying this guy down the steps to get to his seat is what pissed us off. Had my friend's wife been puked on, we would have been sitting in the manager's office at the X expecting some type of explanation. (And an apology). -

Story I have to share about Sioux bashing: Before the championship game I see an usher helping a guy carry another guy down the stairs of the XCEL energy center (we were sitting down by the penalty box). Every person in our group is thinking "ohh my, this handicapped individual is having a tough time getting to his seat", so we are all offering a helping hand, and wouldn't you know it he's sitting in the row directly behind us next to the jerk Duluth fans. After the usher leaves we figure out that this jackbag isn't handicapped, he's drunk as a skunk.....and the usher at the X helped this drunk idiot to his seat (we're talking carrying the guy).... He nearly puked like five times on my friend's wife (he spit on the floor like a thousand times......code for...I'm going to puke), and made sure in his drunken stooper to say "Sioux Sucks" as many times as he could. The ushers hate us too... -

I still can't believe that happened in the first game at the new rink. You think about the minimal possibility of that happening in a game at any level, and of course it happens the first game in the brand new rink. Maybe just a bad piece of glass or Connolly hit it in the perfect spot. During a game, has the Ralph ever had a piece of plexi-glass break? -

I like the Sioux bashing. Those haters can hate all they want. They are the same fans that left with their tails between their legs after the Final Five the last two years. We don't even play NDSU in hockey, and yet we have NDSU fans in the hockey forum trying to stir things up. They've got nothing else going on in their lives worthwhile....they may as well come in here and try and piss people off to give themselves something to do.
