Not a great first period in terms of shots on goal, but the important thing is that they got out of the period 0-0. The longer they keep Bucky off the scoreboard the longer the seed of doubt is planted. They need to get a powerplay at some time in the second and get a goal here. Play well in your own end, chip the puck out, and bury the chance that you get.

Completely agree. It takes one stupid goalie playing the game of his life and you're season is over (see Adam Berkhoel..... ) I wish BC would run into a situation like that.....they always get the bounces and find their way to the frozen four. I want them to run into a goalie who makes 57 saves, and they lose 2-1.

You've got to remember, if there is an upset and a team wins their conference tournament who shouldn't, away goes a team like BU. Those bubble teams need to hope that no team goes on a run and ends up in the tournament, like Duluth did a couple of years ago.

Agreed. You will see the playoff lineup on the ice on Friday night. Saturday could be different with Eidsness possibly getting a start in the net to give Dell a bit of a break. If the Sioux lose on Friday night I would almost expect them to have a playoff like attitude on Saturday, even if they win the cup by Denver losing on Friday night. I'm of the belief that you need to have all guns blazing going into the postseason. I would hope that UND goes into Houghton this weekend and tries to send a message to Tech that there is no way they'll win a series in Grand Forks.

I would assume they would wait to give the Sioux the cup until they have concluded their postseason series with Tech. If Tech found a way to eliminate the sioux in the WCHA playoffs there is a good possibility that the sioux wouldn't get a chance to skate the cup around this season in front of their fans (because do you think any of them would honestly be in the mood to skate the trophy around the rink after losing two of three to tech?). Brucy should have brought the cup to UND this weekend and let the seniors skate it around on senior day. Nice once Brucy....

They just updated the women's pairwise rankings and the Sioux and Dartmouth are now tied for 8th. I don't know a ton about women's NCAA hockey, but I looked over Dartmouth's schedule and they don't have anywhere close to the schedule that the Sioux played. I hope UND's season doesn't end because they are playing the #1 team in the nation, and they drop below Harvard or Dartmouth.

Thinking the same thing. Although Wisconsin is #1 which shouldn't hurt UND in the pairwise. An upset win would guarantee a tournament berth, thats for sure.

The woman are going to win tonight 4-1. The Lamoureux's are not going to let the team not qualify for the national tournament. Monique and Jocelyn will both be tremendous for the Sioux tonight.

Nice to see Trupp get one on senior day. He has had a ton of chances. Nice to see Danny Kristo at the rink. Looks like he has recovered from the frostbite that was supposedly ALL OVER HIS BODY!

I think all of the lines for the Sioux have been tremendous today. The Davidson-Rodwell-Lamoureax line has been great today. They could have two or three goals with some better bounces. Cichy has had himself a good game as well today. You could be seeing the lineup that the Sioux end up going with in the postseason. Wow....Frattin is good...

Sioux women lose tonight 3-0. Got to come out hard tomorrow night and find a way to win the hockey game. No way that the Lamoureax's allow BSU to spoil the party. UND wins tomorrow night 4-1.

We need a Denver win tonight.......well never mind....how about a tie? That would work..... Nice win today. Took about ten minutes for the game to get going, but nice win for the boys in green. Holding a team to 15 shots on goal in 60 minutes isn't easy to do.

The year was 2002, good for you. It was GFC against Grafton (I believe you also know this). A big reason that it was such a well attended game was it was an Olympics year and a lot of people came because they couldn't see the game live (I think it was tape delayed until like 11 pm or something like that).

I think Cichy staying in the lineup depends on how long Kristo is out for. I would assume Kristo may be done for the year if he isn't back by the start of the postseason.

I would love to see this, but don't think they will break the record of 9,000 people set back when the tournament was first started at the new Ralph. I think if they are lucky you will see about 4,000 people at the game. A three quarter full lower bowl would be nice.

We need splits and a Sioux sweep. Thats all there is to it. Would love to see the Sioux in a position to go out to Houghton, win one hockey game, and win the league.

I hope this is just a rumor about these Red River players, but unfortunately drinking and drug use is becoming more and more popular amongst high school athletes. I don't think there is a high school hockey team in the state that hasn't lost a player to "training violations" within the last five years.
