I agree, Gwoz got screwed. Would college hockey be better with him? ABSOLUTELY! Does it make it easier to cheer for Denver now that he isn't coaching them? For me the answer is yes. Great coach, don't get me wrong, but some of his actions that made their way to YouTube still rub me the wrong way. Just my opinion.

I think UND and Denver finish 1-2. Losing players like Drake, LaDue, Stecher, Schmaltz, and Luke Johnson will cause some growing pains for our team. The Gambrell injury hurts Denver a lot. Maybe I'm wrong.....make that, I hope I'm wrong.

I'm so glad Gwoz doesn't coach Denver anymore. Makes it easier to cheer on Denver against BU last night. Denver wins the league IMHO, Montgomery will have that team in the frozen four this year.

He looked like a Freshman playing his first ever game. Smart kid. Knows he has a good offensive upside, but was more concerned about being defensively reliable and getting the speed of the game figured out. One bad turnover, but I believe Tucker was on the ice and bailed him out. Once he gets his feet wet I'm anxious to see him jump up in a rush or two. Four of 6 defensemen on Saturday GF area kids......nice.

Was at game. Noticed this as well. Couldn't really tell what was said between the two, but not sure why the Canisius coach had a goalie stick with him either. Not one of Boeser's better games, but still manages to get on the scoresheet and make a huge difference. I thought Berry was going to blow a gasket in the first period when UND was killing a penalty and instead of stopping and starting in the d zone Brock took a skate through the neutral zone before getting back into the zone to watch his guy get a quality look on net.

Central kid. Great size. Schloss has a story on him on his blog. Will be a Soph this year, so a few years away.

Take some of the money they're pouring into Herbert Parker Stadium.....that place has more fans for Bishop Ryan games than Beaver football. I haven't lived in Minot for a few years, but there still has got to be some deep pocketed folks in the hockey community. Here is your Beaver Power play!!!!! I didn't know that, interesting fact. I agree that MiSU would be a great addition to the WCHA. All Seasons Arena holds about 4,000 people which would be perfect for a WCHA school. Could not imagine the ticket demand if they would be able to get UND in there for a non conference game. It'd be like when UND started playing Bemidji at the old Glas Field House…..standing room only.

Extremely small chance Minot State goes DI, due mainly to the stipulation of having to move all sports to DI status. They have had a good club team for years because of the ability to recruit mostly Canadians kids who have aged out of juniors and are looking for a place to play hockey with no other great offers coming their way. They have a great following (probably most followed team at MiSU), which would only grow with a move up the ranks. I'm from Minot and it's just not a feasible move for the school. If the NCAA allowed all other sports to stay at D2 status like SCSU then I think they'd make a great addition to DI college hockey. They would have to do some work on the playing surface (boards, glass, etc.) at the All Seasons Arena, but with a jump to DI I think the money would get raised. I for one question the whole "all sports must be DI" rule. Glad it wasn't a rule when SCSU was making the jump.

I'm surprised he flew out to Tampa to support NDSU at the frozen four. And he goes to your Hoggsbreath Sioux gathering with all his NDSU crap....

Can't let the punt get blocked. Didn't watch, only listened, not sure what punt formation they're even using but it can't happen in a close low scoring game where TDs are tough to come by. Hopefully this doesn't destroy their home opener attendance. Gotta regroup and find a way to beat BG.

Had to post a thought: Not doubting the talent in the CHL, but it's a men vs. boys argument. I watched the memorial cup (great hockey), but that time and space doesn't exist in college hockey or the NHL. Can't imagine what CBS does with that type of roaming grounds. Send London to Lawson for a weekend of zero space and ice bags, then get back to me.

Last post, then I'll disappear. The players have no idea how much this means to everyone in the fighting Sioux family. Talked to my dad tonight after the game and hearing the pride in his voice is a moment I'll always remember. I'm so proud of this group and everyone involved. One more time....SIOUX FOREVER

Well definitely a sad night for Sioux hockey. But what an effort. I'm still shaking from that hockey game, but the cool thing about hockey is that you see something that you've likely never seen before. That being said my time posting on siouxsports.com has come to an end. I want to thank you all for a lot of great times on the board, and a lot of great discussions about hockey and many other sports. Your passion for UND athletics is tremendous, and I enjoyed reading everyone's take on the ins and outs with this hockey team. Child number two for my family is coming in less than a month, and my job now takes more of my time than it did before. I promised my pastor I would devote more time to my family in passing a few months ago, and my son is starting hockey in the fall! I can't wait to have another tiny Wilbur running around, and teach that child my love for UND athletics as well. You all are the best. I truly wish all of you the best in the future, and even though I won't be posting, I'll be looking on from afar hoping we can pull the string and get a championship. God bless all, and take care!
