  1. This Beanpot game is fun to watch. Love the tenacity on a Monday.
  2. Nice post. When I attended UND it was the opposite, at least the classes I was in. I will say that Jake Brandt for the celebrity that he was was always at class, and seemed to do well.
  3. Legacy vs. Sheyenne was a good game. Legacy didn't play Miller in net, but the backup played really well. You could tell Legacy played Friday night and Sheyenne is missing four regulars with injuries. 1-1 tie. The former goaltender in me doesn't want to talk about a nonconference shootout that didn't mean anything.
  4. Ohh boy....Assist on the GWG on Friday, 33 for 34 on Saturday. Ludvig may be NCHC goalie of the week... (Runs and hides)
  5. If a certain goalie from Sweden doesn't give up another goal we are okay. That is if he's still on the team after his performance yesterday.
  6. Legacy beats South/Shanley last night in a crossover matchup. Looks like South started their backup goalie, but its a matchup you could see at the first round of the state tournament. I've got a feeling the West gets an opening round win this year.
  7. I think the mood after last night from the group is "we got away with one." Blake's post game celly was perfect. The guy has scored some goals in his day and is normally one to puff his chest a bit. I hope the team defense is better this evening. Neutral zone was soft and we took a step back from the Denver performance in our end. Let's win 5-1 tonight. Control the game, play fast and in their end.
  8. Nope, I'm saying those that were calling for his head may have been wrong.
  9. Well I think it was completely on our goalie....should've been yanked after he didn't stop the second shot on the first goal Miami scored. I mean he likely wants the 2nd and 3rd back, but the 2nd was a point blank shot 2-1....the 3rd was a blown coverage top of the crease look. Completely agree. Last night was an everyone issue, and I think after the 4th goal against Ludvig made some big time saves to keep us alive.
  10. Assist on the game winner for Ludvig too....
  11. After giving up a breakaway goal and awaiting his deportation notice from the UND faithful, Ludvig shut the door and his team came back and got him the win.
  12. Great chance to win it in regulation there.
  13. There we go. Wow, Miami....your d zone....
  14. Boy, this may go under the didn't deserve to win category.
  15. Hats off to the glass crew.
  16. Lol....Blake...shoot it man... And Britt scores....
  17. Like I said, gut check time for the green and white. Miami is going to sit back and defend. Get the D activated into the play and let's get the next one.
  18. Nice to face some adversity on the road. Let's see if they can get one before the period ends. Character check.
  19. Bob Gillen just right on top of the state standings. Kudos to him. EDC: 1. RR-Locked 2. Central-Locked 3. North-Almost a sure thing. 4. South/Shanley-Locked in, lowest they can finish. 5. WF-Just need 1 point against Sheyenne. 6. Sheyenne-Need to beat WF by 2 goals to get 5th. 7. Davies-Locked in 8. DL-Locked in 9. Grafton-Locked in 10. Mayport-Locked in
  20. I've seen Century a couple of times this season, and they have as good chance to get out of that opening round of the state tournament as anyone from the West. I like the way Coach Olson has them play, fun to watch. Big night in the EDC: North @ Central: Central the likely #2 seed, North has lined itself up as the likely #3, all they really need to do is beat Devils Lake at home. Shanley @ WF High: Winner likely gets home ice in the first round of EDC. Outside chance for 3rd for both. Fargo Davies @ GPR (6 Point Game): If Davies can win this game and Sheyenne loses out they avoid the play in game. Sheyenne @ Devils Lake: Devils Lake the likely 8th seed, Sheyenne needs at least a point in this one or against WF High to avoid the play in game. Red River @ East Grand: Bragging rights, but a good test for both teams at the EGF Civic Center.
  21. Jorge Polanco to the Mariners for 4 players. Maybe Kepler the next move? Stay tuned.
  22. I thought they looked pretty good against Duluth last night at Amsoil. Probably deserved better than an OT loss. The big storyline is Ludvig heading back to Oxford. They'll have motivation, and hopefully there aren't any ex girlfriends hanging out in the lobby awaiting his return. Yes, this is an expected 6 point weekend for UND.
  23. A big time lesson that our team can take is just not taking the risk on big hits. Behrens isn't a dirty player at all. Plays heavy minutes for a very good team. Stepped up to make a hit, elbow wasn't high, but just caught Strinden in the chops with his shoulder. That hit cost Denver the game. Years back Trevor Olson got lucky in Tampa that he didn't get a five against Denver. You do that in the NCAA tournament and you could see your season end because of it. I love good physical hockey as much as the next guy, but just like if a guy turns late and it turns into a CFB, a guy puts his head down cutting across the middle can turn into a head contact in a split second.
  24. They would have had to open the roof and life flight him out of there. *still would have been out on the ensuing power play.
