  1. Thought I'd give Duluth a look since they seem like an older lineup: 13 Seniors (two of them backup goalies). Will for sure only lose 5 of those players: Anderson (D), Roehl (D), Roth (F), Bender (F) and Gilling (F). Thought they'd have a big turnover in roster but don't lose as many as I thought they would. Even if they lose a guy like Fanti to some pro offers, they bring back Stejskal who thankfully is winning his battle against cancer.
  2. Alright, hopefully put the kiss of death on Duluth by picking a long bulldog run to a national championship.
  3. Pony Express.....sigh. The other ones hurt, but that team was just robbed by the Hunwick out of body goaltending performance. Sadly those players will take that one to their grave.
  4. Very good summary. Like a Duluth defensively. Just not a lot of space there to operate against.
  5. So the lineup....hmmm...truly a guess because you can't not have Arraez in. 1. Buxton-CF 2. Arraez-LF (Listed as an infielder) 3. Polanco-2B 4. Correa-SS 5. Sano-1B 6. Sanchez-DH 7. Urshela-3B 8. Kepler-RF 9. Jeffers-C What about Kiriloff? What about Larnach? What about Gordon or Royce? Rooker? I don't know. How long will they watch Gary Sanchez not hit his weight?
  6. Coop has grown so much. A good growth year for him.
  7. I see what you're saying but IMHO you can't call Ness and Albrecht a heavy line. Id say Jammer and Sendo more a fit with a guy like Portz who has made strides. Wouldn't be surprised to see Kunz with them though.
  8. Okay line wise. Love Senden but he's not top 6. Here's how I would run things Thursday: Gaber-Ford-Judd Matteo-Schmaltz-Calder Senden-Jammer-Portz Kunz-Ness-Albrecht Really late in the ball game to run different lines but that's been every game for this team.
  9. With Kleven back you can mix him and Jandric with Frisch with Moore, spotting in Bast and Ferner, but you can't get caught with your 4th line and Ferner and Johnson on the ice like what happened against Western after we took the lead early. Jeff Jackson knows hockey, better be ready to dump the puck and hit em.
  10. At least you've got a guaranteed Western team in with the Albany regional. If not us, the cows are okay I suppose.
  11. Best of three regional. Best of three super regional. Frozen four. (Drops mic)
  12. Boarded up buildings, broken glass all over....I thought their mayor said their city was back?
  13. How terrible did downtown St. Paul get? Garbage everywhere, drug use, homeless individuals everywhere. My friend who lives in St. Paul said parking east of the rink was asking to get shot. Walking by a guy taking a crap by a building really summed things up.
  14. It was such a treat to be able to meet Tim's wife. She was truly touched by all the kind words from everyone. I got to talk to her and found myself getting a little teary-eyed. Sprig was always first class when I talked to him. Always. A guy you'll never forget.
  15. Bracket integrity was my #1 thing. And you regardless aren't going to be able to protect #1 or #2. They are out east. Why punish Mankato with a possible 9 seed instead of an 11 if those teams beat ND? My biggest gripe is the same people that talk no on campus regionals are the same ones that worry about "helping attendance", and "protecting higher seeds".
  16. Seems like me and USCHO are on the same page.
  17. They have the chance to keep it pretty close seeding wise. Me: Albany 1. Mich vs. 16 AIC 8. The Q. 9 The Irish Wooster: 2. Mankato vs. 15 Harvard 7. UND vs. 11 Mass Allentown: 3. Western vs. 14 NE 6. Goldy vs. 10 SCSU Loveland: 4. Denver vs. 13 Lowell 5. Duluth vs. 12 Tech
  18. Ya know.....playing Umass with the lingering possibility of another game with Western. Not bad.
  19. Tell this to Tim Walsh.
  20. No way they put UND vs. SCSU. All costs go to avoiding first round interleague matchups. On second thought you may be correct because you could have 3 NCHC teams as 2 seeds.
  21. Kind of like football now where receivers can go over the middle with no repercussions. Turn late, get hit, fall and its a review. It's not going away, so like those free safeties in football that have to ease up, the same goes for guys going into the wall to hit somebody. I just can't see a "don't put yourself in a vulnerable position" rule. Way too much gray area there for the officials to deal with.
  22. Bump....Correa.....nice. If Gary Sanchez gets more at bats than Arraez......he just can't get more at bats than Arraez okay.
  23. You know I walked past Gavin Hain last night and not enough can be said about how important he was to this year's team. The Jammer-Senden-Hain line would be huge this time of the year. Maybe Senden and Hain return next year? Coach B says this team will make us all proud in the post. Hope he's right, but just don't see enough chemistry right now with our forward lines. I've been wrong before, hope I am again.
  24. Sanderson, Kleven, Hain, Albrecht all sitting a section over from me. Not our best night, but let's see what they can do with close to a full lineup
  25. Not bad attendance for the afternoon session.
