Albrecht with the shootout win @MafiaMan.....
-
Girl from Minot with a natural hat trick in a minute and a half.....wow.
-
......you reading this @MafiaMan The #mgfc would like a word. And also the guy that does the fireworks at the Ralph. Him too.
-
A good number of them are Packers, including the goalie. I've heard he is headed elsewhere though. Sheyenne returns a good nucleus of players. 1-6 in the EDC will be a dog fight. Red River returning Bydal, Gardner, Ulmer, Ray. I think it's there's to lose. North a close 2nd.
-
Way too early 2023-2024 rankings: WDA 1. Legacy 2. Century 3. Minot 4. Mandan EDC 1. Red River 2. North 3. Davies 4. Central

Better idea....weather bubble over UND campus.

Hey, I predicted the state championship game....but you'd like not to predict this in August....

Carson Wentz taking Philly err Indy err DC by storm
Wilbur replied to SiouxVolley's topic in Non-collegiate sports
I met Carson at a charity function for kids with cancer a few years back and I can't say enough about him. NDSU guy, yeah...boo...., but just a great guy to talk too. Haters gonna hate. Hate that he is an NDSU guy, but still a great person. -
Omaha is our best option in the playoffs. We don't defend well enough to have to defend more space at the Herb, that's just a fact. Western scores in bunches and we love to give up goals in succession....plus Lawson isn't an easy place to play. Yes, Stu has his team playing well, but Baxter isn't the Herb or Lawson as far as crazy atmospheres to play in. Doesn't mean we are going to win there, it's just our best chance.
-
Your life would be a lot less stressful if you just accepted our shootout wins as wins....
-
We won the battle for 6th place with a 3x3 win and a shootout victory that some cough....cough @MafiaMan see as a mere tie. Stu brings his second place group to the Ralph. A good performance from them and they've got CC round one. A poor one and they could be looking at UND or Duluth at Baxter arena. DeRidder the hero in our sweep of CC. One goal in six periods against the Tigers....but I'm told that we hit the post a bunch. Not quite lose and go home weekend for us, but we are getting closer.... UND sweeps with two shootout wins. Book it.

Yup. Scheels next season.
-
Nope, Red River lost the state championship so things are kinda sad around REA.
-
Olsonawski the story. A good championship game.
-
I'll say Red River 4-3 tonight. Red River's goaltending will be the story tonight. They just can't give up the goals they did to Sheyenne to South/Shanley tonight. Olsonawski will have to be good, but he's normally really locked in.
-
Red River and South Shanley. Two best teams at the end. Should be a fun one.
-
I'm anxious to see attendance tonight, but if it's under 3,000 then I think the conversation needs to be had about not using REA.
-
I think the attendance won't ever be what it once was. I think it goes to show that the Pepsi rink in Minot could host the tournament.

Was at the Ralph today and three of the four games were pretty good contests. Hats off to Legacy, Minot and Century for battling it out for the West Region. Three one goal games where a bounce could of went the other way and you'd have a different outcome. Things kind of setting up again for Red River-South part IV, but I guess you never know with the goaltenders from Sheyenne and Davies.
-
3-2 South now.
-
2-2 in the third. Here we go....
-
Afternoon into the evening session were both battles. A puck bounces the other way and its Minot and Legacy in the semifinals.
-
They should score more, and they should get better goaltending.... That should make us all sleep better.

Outlets like BEK and PSP do a world of good for high school athletes, and don't get the credit that they deserve for the time and effort to put these games on the air. I've talked about him before, but the amount of hours that Nick Hulberg puts into PSP can't be counted. Over the years he has grown his product to include basketball, football, hockey, volleyball, swimming, youth hockey games, racing, concerts, golf, in the Minot and Bismarck-Mandan markets. Last I heard he was trying to get into the Dickinson market as well. As a high school hockey fan it was pretty cool to be at Purpur arena on Saturday afternoon and check live action of the WDA tournament between periods of the EDC games. One day these guys will be gone and what we have with them will be gone as well. I'm extremely thankful to those who advertise with them to keep their productions afloat, because it can't be done without the dollars that come from those people.
