Different sports, different situations, but just a different vibe in Minnesota yesterday on the football field. There was a new blood energy that I felt gave the team a boost. And the fan base is thrilled to see a new regime after the last one ran its course, and was as successful as it was going to be. On the baseball field we are just lifeless. Lots of injuries, but I think a new front office and manager could go a long ways in getting some excitement back at Target Field. Who knows, not being able to shift next year may mean Rocco puts the binder down once in a while. Maybe an announcement from MLB that bunting is still a legal play would help.

He and Adams were so so good together. Now he's got a bunch of young guys and Cobb, and he is admittedly not a patient guy. My bet is he rights the ship and they figure out a way to keep him happy.

Extremely ballsy yet thought through move by Sergei Fedorov in the KHL. I've often thought that teams should pull the goalie off gained possession in OT to give yourself a 4-3 advantage. More of a risk in college hockey with pairwise OT losses being what they are, but if you're playing a team like Denver where an OT loss isn't going to hurt too much why the heck not? Surprised to not see it more honestly. All that space out there.

Remember last year when we lost to that really bad Utah State team that actually ended up going 11-3 and beating a Pac-12 team in a bowl game? How about we let the season play out for Nebraska before likening them to Prairie View. I don't think they are that good, and you can all quote me here when they go 1-11, but maybe things click for Texas transfer QB and they decide that Grant needs 30 touches a game. Ohh, and obviously no onside kicks with the lead. I'm pissed we lost too. A play or two a different way and maybe we pull off the upset.

Boys showed up and the game was in doubt in the 4th quarter. First game, lots of mistakes, but fixable stuff I think. We can berate Nebraska all we want, but they've got some ball players. Looking at our WR's compared to their corners tells all you need to know. Heck, Romfo looked like a 5th grader on the field at the end. Grant is the real deal at RB for them, I'll follow him this season. Reminded me of Utah State. We were in it and then they had some guys we couldn't stop.
