I want to say they were second, maybe to Denver.

My vote is for Simpson. The kid was consistent, scored some big goals, and didn't take a lot of penalties, let alone "dumb" ones. He leads by example - exactly the qualities you should have in a captain IMO.
-
...and he did it without taking a bunch of penalties. IMO he's captain material, and I voted as such in the other thread.

I can't say that I do. I regularly started attending games probably in the '91-'92 or '92-'93 seasons. I was just starting HS then, and it was an extremely cheap thing to do on the weekends when you could walk up to the old Ralph and basically have a ticket given to you! Despite the results on the ice we always had a great time at those games.

I should've had the disclaimer as well. Despite the record of some of those early 90s teams, that's where I really grew into my love for Sioux hockey and I look back on those years very fondly.

This, plus the fact that getting the puck out of your own zone and up the ice quickly is a necessity in today's college game.

Todd Jones and Darren Bear will agree with you.

I like the way you think! I tried like heck to see that puck over the line, but no matter how long I crossed my eyes or blurred my vision I just couldn't see white. I need a bigger screen...
-
I never see white between the puck and the line, so IMO it never crossed the line completely on the initial shot. It never fully crossed until the net was knocked off in the big collision with the goalie. I think they made the right call, but their reasoning was questionable.
-
I agree completely. IMO the whole weekend can be summarized in one sentence: UND didn't play fast. Having players with speed is one thing, but if you're not playing "fast" it doesn't matter. It just seemed like the whole team was way too deliberate with the puck on their sticks. The extra split second they took to make decisions with the puck cost them the entire weekend. They did not "play fast." UND needs to figure out how to play faster next season. I think the Eastern teams have figured this out, while the majority of the west is still playing the rough & tumble style.

We really need next year's Jr. Class to contribute way more than they did this year as sophomores. IMO, the "sophomore slump" this season is a main reason for the teams' shortcomings.
-
I usually don't grade a recruiting class until they've suited up for a year or two.

Hopefully Kato got it out of the way at the Final Five...especially Williams.
-
Maybe they're referring to the extreme case - suit & tie???
-
Ridiculous. I'm sure he doesn't have to explain it.
-
My thoughts exactly.
-
I love how the perceived effort ebbs and flows with the scoreboard.

We're gonna get one here!

Hey. If you'd have told me it would be tied with 6 min left I'd say hell yeah!

So basically what you're saying is Ohio State "fans" are Big 10 fans first and hockey fans second. If true, that's a major issue in my opinion. On the bright side, now that they're in the Big 10 with schools they care about they'll have a few bigger crowds for 10 of their home games instead of 2. Good for them.

The way Drake went to the net on Thursday, he could be a nice addition to that top line. Surely he has confidence going right now whereas O'Donnell may not, who knows. The funny thing about this is, when we had the DOT line, even though Duncan won the Hobey it seemed like he was the afterthought. Well...we may be witnessing what it's like to have a DOT line without the D. Knight and Kristo really need their Duncan! I always tell myself that Hak is just playing possum and not getting a lot of these guys together on film for a reason!

Unfortunately you can go back slightly further to 2004 vs. DU..ugh...
-
As far as I know they've never started a Final Five as early as March 14, which would've happened this year if it was your so-called "normal" time. This year it's just a result of the calendar lining up this way. Most tourneys get into the March 20s. See 2003, 2004, 2008, 2009, etc.

I hope their championship goes multiple OTs... Make things interesting!

Yes, I agree. It's only a "Harvin for Jennings" scenario if you actually thought the Vikings had a shot to sign Percy to a long-term deal. That wasn't in the cards and I think the Vikings did pretty well all things considered. I was mainly referring to how Oxbow presented the situation.
