AND healthy players sitting in the stands! (which will make them want to work harder in practice the next week to get into the lineup, competition is great!)
Zajac with the game winner in OT from Kovalchuk and Parise.
Pierre McGuire interviews Zajac right after game, ends it with "there are a lot of people in Grand Forks, North Dakota that are happy tonight" Zajac nods and smiles. Good stuff.
You forgot about east, Wisconsin is a common target for the Twin Cities folks as well. Bunch of clowns they are, with some odd sort of superiority complex. The funny part is, the majority of them come from ND, Iowa, Wisconsin.
I agree that another team such as AHL or ECHL wouldn't make it in Grand Forks.
Too bad we couldn't get a REAL NHL team in here for an exhibition game. The Wild are simply an awful franchise, and horrible to watch.
True, but showing interest vs actually signing the contract is different. You just never know what a person will do in the end. To a point, it does come down to career vs. family. Sure his kid might play at Shattuck nearby, but you are uprooting him from a place he has grown accustomed to.
Interesting. Good for college hockey, I agree. I think Nick could play in the NHL now with his size and strength, but he was invisible everytime I watched gophers play in the later part of the season. Injured maybe?
By WCHA freshmen standards, Parks and MacMillan had excellent years. I'm very excited for next year. I would like to see Kristo come back and lead the team, but I guess I don't expect him back.
