  1. Siouxrock is catching on; I think I caught the ickets. UMD is correct.
  2. Well, you get to talk to an answering machine. Left a message nonetheless. Let's pack the tape with requests for Sioux/Ferris.
  3. Doesn't help me either since we don't get Midco in Crosby. Depend on the Fox Sports stations, and would shell out the $12 willingly if any of the Sports Pak stations would pick it up. Doesn't sound good. Unbelievable. There are comments leading one to believe that some schools are paying NCAA/FOX??? to televise their games. Not sure what the problem is with the limited coverage this year by FOXN, but I wish it would get taken care of; even if the Sioux win Friday, appears that the championship will be only on cable channels in Minnesota, not on FOXN again. Guess I'll get interested again if the Sioux make it to the FF There is nothing scheduled on FOXN that would eliminate college hockey (ie Wild or Timberwolves). The schedule currently shows Paid Programming on all Sports Pak stations that are not showing regional NCAA hockey games. I'll be sure and hurry to the tv to see some infomercials.

I'm willing to change for a few days. Why wait to defeat Ferris?
  5. 1983, yes, the green team was not selected for the tourney, even though they were arguably on par with Wisco, who won it. The NCAA selections went to Gophs, Wisco, and MDU. Gophs and Wisco belonged but MDU had finished below the Sioux. A travesty, and still the only FF I've seen in person. Would be great to steal the western regional from Michigan. No complaints for the TC regionals and FF, they put in their bid and got it; nothing else matters. Sioux need to make the regionals in 2006; that way, not matter how they are seeded, they stay at home as the host team (or one would assume so).
  6. THe directtv sports pak would give you access to more regional games, both live and tape delayed, but the Ferris/SIoux game is not scheduled to be shown anywhere (except on Ferris cable TV). Here's what is on the undalumni site; no TV for Friday. http://www.undalumni.org/view.htm Apparently if enough people request it, Midco (siouxsports net) may show the game (in areas in ND, SD, and NWMN that have midco cable tv).
  7. Here's a Sioux fan's post from uscho, for those of you with access to midco: I called Midcontinent Cable this morning and they said they would not carry the UND/Ferris St. hockey game this Friday unless they received enough phone calls requesting it. Please call (701) 746-1345 and tell them you want to see the game! Toll free is 1-800-456-0564.
  8. THe uscho schedule matches the "live clearances" listed today on the NCAA site- the Sioux/Ferris game only on a Ferris cable channel. FOXN has live clearances for Gophs/Mercyhurst, Mich/Maine, and Cornell/Mankato. Now Midco clearance shows only the west region championship game. Hope to see changes in this schedule yet, but am starting to lose hope. A major change from past years when MSC showed everything from both regions. The directtv schedule now shows "paid programming" during the Sioux game on both FOXN and FOXD Starting to look like an NCAA clusterf??? selling rights to one game at a time, one station at a time. Not going to hold my breath. Hard to believe it may be a streaming audio only weekend (if someone doesn't turn the server off again).
  9. Midco is listed on the NCAA site, but haven't found if they will show just the Sioux games or more of the tourney???
  10. By all means, resize. Make it a gif 64x64 pixels or less. Don't need to make dialuppers load something huge (or try to).
  11. Check out "My Controls" at the top of the page.
  12. Losses to Wayne State and Alabama Huntsville. Looks like they may have problems underestimating an opponent. I don't think they'll underestimate the Sioux, however. Should be entertaining.
  13. Hard to believe FOXN won't show the west regional as well as several games in other regionals. They've shown everything the past couple years with just two regionals (not possible this year with more regions and overlapping games). I'm still expecting FOXN to show it. Yesterday's schedule showed NASCAR on FOXN (at least the Wild and Timberwolves aren't going to be a problem). Today nothing shows in the schedule. I'm going to assume that means the tournament will show up in the schedule in the next couple days.
  14. Haven't seen TV coverage yet, but I'd expect the Fox Sports Net stations to carry everything. If FOXN does as they have in the past, games from more than one region will be on. With just two regions, games from both the east and west regions were on all day long the past couple years. With four regions and overlapping games, that can't happent this year. Best bet is to have directtv with the Sports Pake add-on. http://www.ncaasports.com/story/arc_story/9932 Looks like Midco Cable has clearance to show the regionals. Didn't see any listings yet on the Fox Sports channels.
  15. The waiting is over. Time for the puck to enter the net.
  16. A cupcake, although I'm not so sure the eastern regional teams were quite as fortunate. The luck of the no conference match-up and the WCHA being a good league.
  17. Did not see the final five games, but I'd agree having seen MN several times last year and this year that the Waibel line is very good defensively and PK'ing. However, I haven't seen them dominating puck possession, keeping the opponent from getting out of their own end. Are you saying they did this against CC? Judging from the shot differential against Mankato, I'd believe it could have been true in that game. And I'm asking about more than dominating a couple shifts, which many 3rd and 4th lines do occasionally. Ferris is not Mercyhurst or Wayne State either, as the Gophs start with a cupcake. If the opponent gets within a couple goals (of the Gophs) it will be a miracle (maybe if they are within a couple after one period). Saw Vaneks GWG in OT vs. Kato, very similar to the open shots Genoway and Prpich had against Reichmuth (except Vanek had less open net to hit). If they Sioux can't snipe those in, they stand little chance against the Gophers or Ferris (although I have no idea what to expect from Ferris). Would expect to get more chances against the Gophs and Ferris, however, since Duluth (IMO) is much tougher defensively than either MN or Ferris. Not nearly as good offensively, however.
  18. I believe on the selection show they said, first of all, SCSU and Mankato (both 4 seeds) were moved east to avoid conference match-ups with CC and MN (1 seeds). Then, Cornell (as the best 1 seed out east) gets the worst 4 seed (Mankato) while the worst 1 seed (UNH) gets the best 4 seed (SCSU). Apparently (haven't looked) SCSU finished ahead of Mankato in the pairwise. Because those 2 (of 5) WCHA teams are 4 seeds, the cupcakes (the other 4 seeds) have to play CC and MN. Therefore, the top 1 seed (Cornell) does not get the cupcake that it seems they should have played.

    Pairwise

During the TV broadcast, Wooger referred to writers saying that the Sioux may be better off losing to MDU (from a PWR standpoint). Beating them, then losing to CC and the third place game, could have placed them in a poorer position. Of course, could have always won this afternoon, or in the third place game Little doubt that Sioux fans need to be against Duluth. Not hard for me, since I like CC anyway.
  20. That's the way it looked on the replay. Lessard just got a piece of it, and the puck had eyes making it's way through the 5 hole. Which is why I posted the good bounce on the GWG.
  21. Although I don't get too wound up about individual awards, I find bertimb's heading in here to gloat and attempt to rub it in in poor taste. Jerk. YOu've been breathing way too much exhaust (or maybe not enough). Wondered why I still dislike the Gophers after not being around for many years. Now I remember. BTW, I wouldn't even think of showing up on the poi board and posting, haha, we won.
  22. He did play high school hockey in TRF. Currently building an arena there that will host some of the WJC games in 2005. Don't know his UND major; business a good guess. I'd guess you're all proud of fellow goph fan yellowdog
  23. Don't get excited bertimb. This is a Sioux board, expect that the Sioux players will get support here. Would guess Vanek is heavily favored on the poi board. Two good rookies. With all the talk of point comparisons and such, that kind of leaves out M. Stuart, who I think is as deserving as Parise and Vanek, but then I like good stay at home hard hitting defensemen.
