Seems that the Stanley Cup has become much more entertaining, again. Seemed that the interference that went on almost slowed the game to a crawl until the league started clamping down on it. Now the skills are again much more apparent. Seems that college hockey is following the same road as the NHL. Doesn't seem that the games (and I've seen very few) are as entertaining as they were several years ago. Time to take the interference out of the college game, imo. And it's not just because it's been the Gophers (rather than the Sioux) winning the past couple years (although that may be part of it For me the trapping New Jersey team (this year and the past several) is not nearly as entertaining as the Wild. Hard to imagine they play the same style.

Actually, yd starts fights on poi also. He's a poster child for the ignore button. Unfortunately, we don't have one, but ignore him anyway.

Not a lawyer, but using the internet's best search engine (google) will get you tons of sites to look at. This one, http://www.legalscholar.com/, for instance, has a section on aviation law. If you search for things often, the google tool bar is invaluable, http://toolbar.google.com. Now back to hockey.

Enima=Sioux goalies. In for a short time, then quickly out.

USCHO post says T. Hennesy on FAN is saying that Joseph will sign shortly. As well as Finger and Hendricks. So far Gophs avoiding jumping ship rumors.

Use a couple of foot wedges to break triple digits?

I agree with you Scott. Never quite understood each teams' fans arguing that a player "is not ready yet." If the money is good, their developement in the AHL is a step above the developement in college hockey. Couple that with the extra years of compounding your million dollar investments, the sooner those bucks go to work for the young player, the more it's worth 30 years down the road. Compounding those kind of bucks 3-4 years longer is an awesome amount of money. Not that many 19-20 year olds wouldn't just blow it Don't doubt that several more players will be gone from college hockey before the summer is over.

Does look like a normal mixed home and away schedule. Wonder what year the Sioux might get one of those??
-
Maybe Lucia stuck the "Minnesotans wanting to go duck hunting in ND" disk into the computer that came up with the schedule. Wonder if this at home before Christmas, on the road after is a permanent thing for the Sioux.

There seems to be quite a bit of feeling here (among Gopher and Sioux fans) that the Sioux need an offensive defensemen (ala Ballard) to contend. I disagree, the Sioux defensmen can skate and move the puck just fine, and I like their defensive upside (again comparing to Ballard, who is defensively suspect imo). Can't think of anyone's defensemen in all of D1 that could not have carried the puck out of their own end against the UNH team in the championship game. An extremely weak one man forecheck, although that implies one forward going below the goal line while the other two remain in front of it. The UNH version had one forward attempting to do everything in the offensive zone while the other two stayed around the blue line, with the dmen floating around neutral ice. That is not the way UNH played any other game that I saw this year. Don't know if it was by design or they just decided to play a neutral zone prevent for the whole game. In UNH' defense, since it was still tied into the third (largely due to the play of Ayers), they did have a chance if a bounce, or one of the several big rebounds Webber gave up, ended up on a UNH stick. Little chance of that, however, with the forwards at the blue line for the most part. They were certainly outplayed big time by Minnesota, and offered little resistance. Suprising to me, they certainly looked like a team that could compete with the Gophers in the regular season games.

If you don't like anti-Gopher, anti-opponent posts on a Sioux board, go elsewhere. It's going to happen.Check out the anti-Sioux, anti-opponent stuff on POI. You don't see any of us throwing a tantrum over there. Get used to it if you plan to visit here, it will happen, you can bet on it.

Heard from a dad of a Wayne State player that they will be in it. May as well get the Squirts also.

Don't know if Umile designed that awful weak forecheck, neutral zone trapping game but it certainly wasn't the game that got UNH to the championship. A Vanek third period; he was impressive. Will he come back now that he's got his championship? I'd guess he'll get a good offer from whomever drafts him. Waibel line was good throughout the game. Nice coaching by Lucia putting Vanek on that line to help finish (appeared Vanek was double-shifted throughout the third?).
-
Ayers is playing great. Weber is giving up huge rebounds. If one of those ends up on a UNH stick, the Gophs will be beat. Would still like to see a little more aggressive forechecking in the MN end. Gophs still getting the better of the opportunities, although that period was a bit more even.
-
If UNH doesn't lose the weak one-man forecheck and start using their speed to create some opportunities, they cannot win (unless the Gophs get a few more stupid penalties). Get two men down deep and put some pressure on the Goph D. Can't play the entire game in your own end. Nice looking PP (the last one), but they sure missed a lot of passes before the goal (where two passes connected perfectly).

CSTV is added as part of the Sports Pak add-on, I believe. I'll soon see if it disappears when I drop the package for the summer. Didn't think the Sports Pak was worth it for college hockey, just not enough games and variety of teams (since we already get FOXN, FOXNa, and FXRM without the add-on). If CSTV shows more college hockey and more college teams, the Pak will be a great addition.

Nice game by the Wild tonight. But neither Bombadir nor Murphy were in the lineup

I was suprised at the lack of Sioux or Gophs on this team, but, it take a lot of hype to get them on. Blais had been pushing D. Hale all year, then he got sick. Unfortunate for Hale to miss out on the award, but the others (Bochenski, Parise) still have more years to get the honor.
-
Nice not to have played there this past season, isn't it. Carry on, your time will come.
-
That's true, although I don't know if that has an affect on the "rostered before trade deadline" rule.
-
"Blais said he didn't think Hale would play with the Devils in the NHL playoffs." That quote from the article seems a bit odd. If the rule that supposedly applied to Sejna, having to be rostered before the trade deadline to be eligible, is actually a rule, David cannot be eligible for the Cup this year anyway. Good luck to David. Hope to see him with the big club next fall. Three Sioux dmen are capable of taking over his role, Jones, Schneider, and Greene. Hope one or more shows that kind of improvement next year.
-
Must have been close to a done deal for awhile since the article says Bina will be brought in next year to fill Hale's spot.

Thanks for the recap, Speez. And good luck to Kevin. Nothing like getting back into it with former BC'ers.
