  1. Different ones, but some there all the time. Jake and Pete do a lot of scanning and will no doubt post here if they find it. Bison football playoffs were on 99W, other FCS games were on 91 and 123. http://espn.go.com/w...#type/upcoming/ Check out today's ESPN3 schedule if you want to scan satellites and check out where they are found.
  2. Watched some of the championship game vs. Michigan. WMU looks small and fast, kind of like BC. D better be ready for small speedy guys, a good warmup for BC, if they make it that far (BC and ND). Also, looking at SOS in KRACH, which has almost always had most of the top 10 spots occupied by the WCHA, has 9 CCHA and 1 HE team this year; you have to go to number 15 to find the first WCHA team. The CCHA was the best conference this year, and one of them should win the NC.
  3. ESPN3 has been available FTA, for those with systems.
  4. Duluth failed to lose their way into an easy region this year.
  5. Miss the days not long ago when the Fox Sports Nets had all games, and the times were staggered so that you could watch every game. Guess we'll be hoping for ABC networks in ND to pick this up. No ESPN3 for my isp.
  6. WMU wins the Mason 3-2 over Michigan. Multiple cheap shots by Michigan with their goalie pulled, none called. Guess it's more than just the WCHA. And WMU moved to 14, so they don't steal a spot. Only number 16 will get bumped by Air Force (Northern Michigan).
  7. Ostrow did the slashing, but I'm not surprised at the matching penalties. BC 2 Maine 0 after one WMU 3 Mich 0 after 2 (WMU will take a bubble team's place if they win)
  8. Good 2 hander given to Lamoureux after the period ended. Not sure if any penalties called in the scrum after the slash. Haven't seen anything that could be called a penalty on the Sioux so far, but with 2 calls on Denver, there's not likely to be another call on the Pios unless it is blatant.
  9. Lots of empty seats for the first game, thought it would be full. Would guess many at the bars, and probably many Gopher seats not at the game today.
  10. http://www.collegehockeynews.com/schedules/scoreboard.php All game three's being played today. Bu has tied UNH in the third.
  11. Dish does not offer FCS, no Sioux hockey on Dish. Can get it on midco cable in Jamestown.
  12. Since the Sioux are losing their FCS deal when the NCHC starts, does anyone know if Denver is losing their RSRM telecasts as well? Hope UNDSN continues on FTA, but not holding my breath.

    New Jerseys

You're right, I haven't tried close up with a small screen. Would guess, based on recommendations, a 22" would be best two feet from you, while a 32" would be three feet, essentially in your lap, to get the best out of 1080P. My 46 looks best at 4 feet, I often move the chair to that range when I'm watching HD by myself. Now back to the topic, whatever it was.

Clear and clearer are poor arguments. Digital is clear, whether it's SD or HD. If the signal is week, the picture doesn't get snowy, it pixelates and disappears entirely, SD or HD. Sharpness and depth of field, on the other hand, are what makes a huge difference between SD and HD. The smaller the screen, the less noticeable it is. I see no reason to buy a 32" or smaller HDTV, although you can no longer find a CRT in that size anyway. The differences become more noticeable when you break the 40 inch barrier.
  15. I thought the same, looked like it was off Simpson's stick on one of the replays.
  16. You're pointed at 87, CBSSP has been on 85, so probably not. In addition, it's apparently been the HD feed only (is that right, Jake?), so you'd also need an HD receiver
  17. Noticed the fairly new condos/townhomes/apts? on the north side of the REA when I was there in November. Have those been sold or rented as quickly as they were built, or is there any availability?
  18. Yes, many are leaving. I'll be gone as soon as my wife retires.
  19. The search for the body of Sydney, Mt teacher continues, and this morning another male body was found in a ditch along Hwy. 2 west of Williston, not yet ID'ed. Probably killed over the weekend. Constant fights inside and outside the small town bars all over western ND, knives and even guns have been involved, and also a recent assault on LE in Crosby outside the bar. It's now a terrible place to live and raise a family, nice that ND is benefiting economically from this boom, but that is the only positive to come from the oil boom out here.
  20. Now we've come full circle. So when FSN discusses safety and eliminating cfb's that cause Jablonski type injuries on Hockey Day, why not show the Gopher hits as well. With so many of those kids being Gopher fans, that would certainly make the point even better, than just showing the Kristo hit, when everyone in Gopherville has already been indoctrinated in knowing that he Sioux are dirty thugs.
  21. You're still missing the point (where did I call any one of them "dirtier"?). The hits on Parks and McWilliam were exactly the same at the hit on Jablonski, which was the point of the safety talk. Kristo's deserved a 5 minute, but did not portray the point they were making on the Jablonski injury. All other Gopher cfb's last weekend could have caused concussions, like Kristo's, but the cfb's on a guy away from the boards sending him in head first only happened twice that I saw, and those were to Parks and McWilliam.
  22. The point was, in giving the "safety" talk and pointing out what needs to be eliminated from the game (hits that cause an injury like Jablonski"s), the talk would have had much more credibility it they'd shown the hits on Parks and McWilliam, which had a lot better chance of breaking necks than Kristo's, which could have caused a concussion but not a broken neck. Once clueless, always clueless. (I'm referring to the topic of this thread, not "homerism".)
  23. If you can't find them, you don't know what a cfb is. You've already bought into the "it never happened" argument. I'm not surprised.
  24. Nothing would have made the point better (on Jablonski day) to younger MN hockey players than showing the 5 (or was it more) textbook cfb's the Gophers committed last weekend in Grand Forks Since only one was called, the others already never happened. The point made was that ;the dirtly Sioux need to quit this stuff that never happens from the kinder gentler Gopher nation. Showing gopher jerseys making cfb's would have made the point a whole lot better on Hockey Day
  25. Hope you didn't find the big screen and didn't have to watch. It was ugly. Have not seen the Packer offense looks that bad for a long time.
