I agree...or if they want to do like Bucky does They show games tape delayed at 10:30 on Wisco PBS and then the next day on "The Wisconsin Channel". I understand Lakeland PBS has to show the PBS stuff so why cant they show it on Lakeland Plus live and then tape delayed on the main network at say 11:00 or 10:30 after news? If they stay on Lakeland Plus I might have to get that big ass UHF antenna set back up at the cabin on Mille Lacs for KAWB
-
Charter dropped UMD this year...well Bethany Lutheran (that produces the games) is not doing games this year for UMD...Just the Landcows
-
what Charter games? If the 1st post is true and they are going to Lakeland PBS then folks who get KAWE/KAWB on cable/OTA or in the Minneapolis market for Dish/Direct can see the games
-
yep. Thats why I had left my address with Dish Network as Duluth when I lived in the cities. To keep those locals. But according to WDIO they were losing too much money. That and the network was getting pissy because they were pre-empting too much network programming (showing it at 2:05 in the morning) made them leave
-
very cool Dont see anything on either site yet (Bemidji St or Lakeland PBS) but this is AWESOME if they do Also rumour is MN Duluth might get on Fox 21 in Duluth and surrounding areas

no since its a fixed tourney. Fixed as in this tourney and the Brice Gold Rush in Fairbanks that UAA is part of the agreement is UAA & UAF do not play each other in those tourneys. Ao its a non conference game Same as the UMD hall of fame game....just a non conference game

yeah the PP clock would be great but I guess compared to Anchorage's feed that shows just the score and no clock....I cant complain...much
-
If they go in HD then one of 3 things must happen -they cut down on the schedule -someone wins the lottery and donates all the money to WDAZ -Ralph comes back from the grave and donates more money Folks whine because they dont do very many road games and we all come back with the same answer...MONEY It costs a helluva lot more to do HD then SD.....oh and the satellite uplink cost is unreal compared to a SD broadcast that they do. Take what they normally are billed and multiply it probably 4 times since they have to use a whole transponder for HD. on SD they get by with 1/6th of the transponder
-
couple thoughts..... Since WDAZ has the contract with the FSSN I doubt Sweeney would leave unless he does it on his terms. Sweeney doing the games probably gets the same salary if he doesn't do the games (since WDAZ again has the contract) I've seen plenty of hockey that is in the same boat as the FSSN (not FSN type) and compared to other announcers, Sweeney isnt that bad. I'd rather deal with Sweeney than half the other announcers out there. Scanlan has to go. He just annoys me. I agree that Fabian wasn't too bad.

most of the time the guide wont be updated at all or maybe right before the game. Its an independent company that cable co's/dish/direct gathers the info from

good luck. KQ1490 runs 1000 watts and last weekend I barely got it in Cloquet
-
I know KNOF doesnt work real well in the SW suburbs because of KRDS 95.5 in New Prague The AM radio deal 1570 is the same one that the Bison FB games are on
-
by the way LOVE the jab Sweeney had for the Gophers about 5 minutes left in the 1st period -he welcomed the Goofer fans because it was tape delayed (it isnt) -then he totally goes after their radio deal. He mentioned they are on "a lower powered Christian station" (which is true) and says why (Goofs b-ball on WCCO and Wild on Bob106)...then the best line "a couple times they were on a AM station that is 70 watts at night which goes....oh about 6 blocks"

see above Dave Directv 658...shows in the guide
-
Doesnt the FSSN normally use 44 in Fargo? Those fans will be pissed if they get Masucko and the Wooger
-
91-81 HBU final but it wasnt even that close
-
There is a HD feed that is at 12020 which took up the whole transponder (12020-12039) which is why the FSSN feed moved.
-
none that I see
-
When Sioux got to the Nye Classic they automatically play Anchorage & Fairbanks....its a tourney but not a tourney. Rules state Fairbanks & Anchorage dont play each other in the two tournaments (this one and the one in Fairbanks a week later)
-
They dont need to pick it up on C-Band....There are other ways of getting the feed but they are getting the broadcast somehow Highly unlikely its on C-Band as when the feeds were up there for UMD road games (via WDIO ABC before Charter took over) they were KU Band
-
That was due to the WCHA going with replay. The penalty boxes/timekeeper table was on the other side (by the visitor bench) but for replay they needed to run wires down from the pressbox (which is on the other side) so its easier to move the timekeeper table to the toher side Thats why the visitor bench is opposite of the penalty boxes/home bench
