no. Just MIdco Channel 23

The reason they showed the Anchorage games this year is that GCI (the cable co in Alaska) beams all home games up on C-Band satellite. So the feed was already there. Last year Wisco games were already on satellite (again the feed was already out there so they just plucked it out of the sky) Duluth is cable only so they use the existing infrastructure to show it on cable. The Denver game a couple weeks ago was fibre (a satellite guy's enemy). From reading the uplink sheets the Denver home games are fibred (just like the Goofer home games are). So it all goes back to money. If the FSSN wants to show a road game they have two options -pay for two uplinks to show to everyone (the one from the site to GF and then the FSSN transponder). The feed sent back to GF is the raw feed....no graphics but maybe the clock. The FSSN feed would have the graphics -pay for one uplink and then you have to have the graphics stuff with which I assume costs more money Dont get me wrong. I'd love to have more Sioux games on satellite but considering you have to pay for hotels, food etc for that crew plus the money for satellite space and they have to reserve it usually 4 hours at a time that can get spendy

Are the games televised on DirecTV this weekend?
iceberg replied to 4-H 97-98's topic in Men's Hockey
no only on Charter cable in MN -
IF Crapcast shows them they will be on Channel 23 which is a paid program channel normally Key word is "IF" as I dont think Crapcast has shown the other 4 UMD games yet this year. The one Saturday they had a Blackhawks game from WGN9 on there. Its a crap shoot. Been like that for 2 years. Either they forget to show the game or if they do there's always issues -black and white pic -rolling pic -audio REALLY LOUD -no audio once in a while it goes off without a hitch
-
its on Charter Mainstreet for the folks in MN
-
early season games (especially at the dome) can be played at all hours of the day. I went ot a few early (9AM) games at the dome for college baseball. Looking at UMD's schedule they play a Thursday/Friday games in February at 9AM most games in April/May are weekends

highly unlikely because if they would do that, they would have done that by now Also since the feed comes from the Ralph, WDAZ would have to do one of two things to put it on their digital feed -gather it via microwave to reshow -use a FTA receiver to gather it then turn around and send it out on their subchannel Honestly it would be a good idea but they figure with cable and now the Directv (FCS) thing very few people would need it
-
it has been pretty thin this year. Use to be 4 or 5 games on TV a week minimum...this week I showed 4 tomorrow and 3 Saturday (for the non free to air folks its MN vs. Bucky and BC vs. New Hampshire Friday on NESN)
-
feed is up but just black screen right now edit: up now with the normal scroll
-
it wasn't goofer home games are fibred
-
hee hee looks like the FSSN gave up and will take the feed as is with commercials
-
the original feed from C-Band is much sharper and brighter. The FSSN feed is way darker also noticed that thew FSSN is trying to do commercials....highly suggest they dont as UAA only does a 30 second break (instead of a 1 minute) and half the time the game is already going when they come back 30 seconds later
-
http://portal.gci.net/gcisports/uaa_hockey it comes up literally at 7:05 Alaska time
-
there was a glitch on the c-band feed. the channel they normally show it on had something else (the AK Federation of Natives) so they had to use the backup channel
-
only on the FSSN today unless you use the website...been posted a few times in the thread not on FCS
-
dont input the pids...leave them at auto and the receiver will log the proper pids right now the signal isnt up...wont be up until 9:45ish Central Can you get a signal on the following transponder? 12050 V 13354

The other issue is they dont make it available until right before the puck drops (like 30 seconds before)
-
no. Per the press release Both games this weekend will be televised live on the Fighting Sioux Sports Network. Alaska based GCI is producing the broadcasts. The games will not be carried on Fox College Sports this weekend.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Dusty ranks up there with Ted Stadler of the Mattress Ranch Dusty's commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Isj8TGxK4Bw Mattress Ranch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICppcKiwrPw

Since those other cable companies are involved too (the smaller indy ones) I would hazard a guess and say yes.
-
on the positive side, the UAA broadcasts have somewhat normal audio. For 3+ years they had audio so loud it was distorted. This year they toned it down a lot so its not too bad but same sucky graphics...no clock. Just a score in the corner

are you sure? Fighting Sioux site says all midcontinent http://www.fightingsioux.com/ViewArticle.d...TCLID=204817102
