Is the strength coach a weakness? We do not seem to get guys putting on 20-50 lbs of muscle over 3-4 years.

HS guys live on youtube and a show like that would definitely help position UND. Maybe Bubba and AD worried about the presentation of memorial stadium? Definitely not a selling point.

Is Rastas really gone? Anyone have any solid info?

I would agree and at his size he could help us this season. Give us a big body coming off the edge.

Has anyone heard anything about Connor Kruse? On the sidelines last fall and at the spring game the kid looks like a beast.

I agree, Santiago should get 50% more touches and Rudy needs to find ways to get both Santiago and Oliviera on the field together a lot. I am looking for much better QB play this year, which will hopefully result in much better TE production. UND football the last couple years, it was the defense that was the difference between 9-3 and 3-8.

34.6 ppg given up by defense(108th in FCS). Lot's of talk on here about Rudolph and the offense, but IMO, if ppg drops to 24/game we win at least 6, if it drops to under 20 we win at least 8 and are in playoffs.

Hockey is a great sport and UND has a fantastic program but if the University wants to elevate its profile in the Midwest and beyond, only football and basketball will do that. Phase 2 needs to be a priority and funding needs to be generated ASAP.

What kinds of things do you mean? How much underfunded? How can we help as fans(football only funding)?

All three points are spot on. If Grady really wanted to play football he would be playing this season somewhere. If he could just show up, not go to school and not go to practice not work in the off-season and not really be committed he probably would be playing somewhere.

One thing I noticed watching the scrimmage, the kicker looked shaky at best kicking field goals/XP. Was he having a bad day or is this going to be a problem?

IMO the season will hinge on whether or not we can stop the run this season. If we can stop the run, we'll be able to control the line of scrimmage and also get home with the blitz. The secondary should be improved and will look much better if we can blitz effectively. If Harris is back to full strength at cb we could have a better overall defense than 2016.

I say Ott, Larson and Kruse(if he is fully healthy). All 3 are significant potential physical upgrades to the guys who were at those positions last season. Ott brings athleticism and potential to make huge plays although he still needs to pack on some weight.

Defense will be somewhere between good and great. If the oline can hold up could be a huge year IMO.

Recruiting is not as scientific and objective as we think it is. So many variables.

Seems to be much more confidence in the defense entering spring, will be interesting to hear if the defense can really get back to 2016 form.

Good post. I think it comes down to OL and ILB. If those two positions are substantially better, 4-7 is too low, I would say 7-9 wins and a tournament berth. If one of those groups is better 5-6 wins. If neither of those groups is better than there are several new posts about the new HC and his staff on this forum a year from now.
