  1. It will be interesting to see how much Bison06 is on here after they lose their first D1 game to UND. Its coming.
  2. The Utah team that UND faced was playing better than the Iowa team was that NDSU defeated. I'll stand by my comment.
  3. I said Utah had some incredible players, not that they were and incredible team.
  4. No I was responding to some trolls on here(you?) at the time and agreeing with Gundy. I stand by my original post, Utah has far more players on its roster that will make a living on Sundays than Iowa does. The big Ten West minus Wisconsin is awful. Utah lost to Washington.
  5. And Iowa is 6-5 this season after finishing 8-5 last season. Those comparisons are meaningless.
  6. Lost all 4 LB starters to graduation and retirement and after Rodgers(maybe Larson earlier too) went down, we never found suitable answers. Probably could have made due, but then when it was safeties and corners too, it was goodnight.
  7. No question Rasta's gets an A for effort. Just not sure he can be the kind of full-time player UND needs to run the style of defense we run.
  8. Coaching in football is always supreme. Did any of you see Wisconsin's 2-3 star players pound Michigan's 4-5 star players? As Gundy said, this terrible season is on the coaches.
  9. The ILB, S, and CB is where the defensive injuries took a huge toll and its where Blubaugh(F), Shannon(F), Rastas(RF) were called into service long before i think anyone thought they would be ready to contribute at a high level. I also think that all three of them would have looked substantially better if they were the only one of the 3 on the field at one time. So much of football is about confidence and momentum. IMO Blubaugh will be a player when the guys around him are all solid, the defense is stopping the run and also able to get pressure on the QB. Shannon looked the best of all three of them IMO, but the nature of his position is much different than CB or ILB. I don't think Rastas will ever be able to be the guy at ILB, I think if he can put on 20-30 lbs of good weight he can be a solid spot duty guy as long as the other ILB is very solid. In UND 3-4 scheme the ILB and S play huge roles in bringing pressure and the CB in being able to cover for 3-5 seconds.
  10. So were the go ahead points vs NAU.
  11. Yes. I am just going off what I have heard this fall. First 3 will be major contributors.
  12. Adeotti(should not have been pulled as little as he was used), Blubaugh and Shannon.
  13. If we can get everyone back, have a great offseason, find a qb, I think we can have a great season in 2018. I have heard that Kruse, Ott, Larson will all be standout contributors next season for us.
  14. Illinois and Wisconsin loaded with talent, Bubba needs to recruit these areas harder.
  15. I would assume the situation you are talking about was the situation involving Mercer and Hunt.

  16. 63 players listed on the depth chart in the Spring Prospectus, 5 were not suited up due to search warrants being executed by the drug task force, and 1 was not suited up due to failing a drug test in fall of 2016.....10% of the players on that depth chart. I hope you are not arguing about there being a culture problem on the team. 10%.
  17. The fact is that there has been at least 3 different raids on UND football players place of residence.  2 of the raids resulted in 3 players being charged with intent to deliver.  I know that these raids were carried out by the drug task force after investigations and surveilance which is still going on.   I know that Bubba has been told that more guys are involved and that guys on his team control a big chunk of the drug trafficing in Grand Forks.  There are many more guys involved, just not caught yet.  Up to 60% of the team would not pass a drug test.

  18. When a team consisting of 80? players has multiple players arrested for dealing over the span of 6 months by a drug task force as the result of investigations and multiple raids there is a cultural problem on the team. I am in no way saying that every player on the team deals or that every player on the team uses or but I do know that it has been far more prevalent than any of us would like or that Bubba and the university can tolerate. When a situation gets to a certain point there is guilt by association, and as someone earlier pointed out the rules and expectations on a team are different than the legal system.
  19. I agree with the accountablity. I am not sure how much worse the offense really was vs last season. First downs, Yards, Points. do you have those stats readily available? The defense was far different in rushing yards allowed and points allowed and defensive points scored.
  20. I think a gundy is largely correct. If Rodgers, Harris and Larson don’t go down with injuries D would be much different. CB and ILB incredibly important in an attacking style D. If you can’t stop the run, everything else goes to !@#$.
  21. If you were healthy and could not play ILB for us this season I would say move to a different position or move to a place you may have a chance to play.
  22. 2014 was the killer recruiting class for ILB and OLB, all would have been RJr or Sr this season. They were all busts. 2015 & 2016 look good so far. What happened with Geier & Steiger this season? They seemed to disappear off the radar with Murray.
  23. It is an unusual freshman who can start on any college football team. At an FCS level it would most likely have to be someone who for one reason or another was overlooked by FBS schools.
